My biggest complaint was the initial communication and cleanliness. Communication is that this property is managed by a real estate company who list it on VRBO but doesn't use VRBO for any of its initial communication. They sent an email with the details that sadly went into my spam folder. It was sorted after we got there but would be nice to get a follow up VRBO message or a reach out the day before telling to look for this. I dislike the third-party listing as it seems misrepresented with VRBO's policy. The second issue was when we arrived the place didn't seem like it had been clean sufficiently. There was a note from a prior guest thanking the owners and the place seemed like it needed a good thorough cleaning. Curtains were stained, the toilet had some hair leftover in it, and the floor/bathrooms where suspiciously mold looking. Our checkin and the cleanliness was what tanked the review. The place was amazing and was overall pleased with the surrounding area.

Excellent bay front location in St. George Island Plantation. House is set back in the pines, in a very tranquil setting, with great separation from the neighbors and bay views through the trees. Check in at the management office was friendly and quick. The house was clean and comfortable for my family of 6, with three large bedrooms all with ensuite bathrooms. Kitchen was reasonably well equipped for cooking meals, and dining areas at the table and kitchen island accommodated everyone. The WiFi was fast and reliable, allowing for streaming movies through the smart TVs. The Gulf-side beach is a short walk across the street, or a quick bike or drive to the parking for the beach and jetty at Sikes cut. Out back of the house, it’s a short walk down the path to the bayside dock, where you can fish or check out the wildlife in and out of the water. We saw plenty of fish, crabs, ospreys, and even dolphins cruising in and around the docks. It’s also a great place to launch kayaks or canoes. Also, great sunset views from the dock or from the upper deck of the house. One word of caution - there are no side rails on the dock, so be careful with young kids - and the bench at the end had some loose boards, but I still enjoyed sitting there. Overall, the house, location on SGI, and setting was perfect for us, and seemed a good value as compared to other options in the area. We would not hesitate to stay here again!

Great stay great place great management

Everything was great and clean . My family had a great time. The only downside was the dock decking was pretty hazardous with exposed nails everywhere and poorly repaired . You think for the community it was in that they would care more about the dock, especially with three people sharing the dock. I had to worry about my twin little girls getting splinters in their feet or stabbing their toes on the 1 inch nails exposed. Also some sort of trap door to a staircase is super hazardous and the bench on the end can’t even take anybody’s weight. That was the downside and why I didn’t give five stars.

Peaceful surroundings on the bay

The views are beautiful. The house was lacking a few things, like an icemaker and storage space for staples you would bring when staying at a home with a kitchen. Many of the lighting fixtures had burnt out bulbs. The TV was difficult to navigate and had no local channels. The dock is in desperate need of repair. With a little TLC this house would be perfect. The rental company did an excellent job at communication.

Relaxing and convenient

Like most rental properties, some idiosyncrasies, e.g. beds very high, hard to figure out which light switches controlled which lights. Overall, good layout for 3 couples or 2 with some kids. great location, well stocked with kitchen equipment, dishes etc. Easy walk to beach. Good WiFi.

Great House

This is a great house that was nice and clean. Beds were comfortable and the rooms were very spacious. My family and I really enjoyed the Tarpon Lookout and I recommend you try it for yourself.
