Nice welcome, but the parking is very small. Hotel with a swimming pool. Rooms are small and a list of irritating factors : Weak Wi-fi reception in rooms, tap fitting in sorry state, CRT TV - not the flat ones. Overall not a bad experience - especially for one night.
I had booked the hotel for my family through a trip advisor. The reservation was for two nights but I couldn't stay more than one - Checked out and moved to a much better hotel. The beds were dirty, food - supposed to be B&B buffet but was set menu and was sub par. It was like the hotel was empty. Stairs were dim and dark. Found some ants as well. Definitely NOT recommended for anyone! Pay just a bit more (a breakfast buffet worth) and move to muccccccch better places.
Hotel is below par. Went to the room which was damp, dirty and to top it off found stains everywhere. I'm no spoilt princess but I would seriously think before staying here. I think went in for closer inspection of the bed and found body hair from one private bits.. I marched straight out and checked in to another hotel. You've been warned !! Photo 2 is the said hair. Lots more to report but the list is too long. Shameful more like 1 star!!
We stayed here on a trip whilst on a tour around Kandy and the hill country. The hotel was very average. The room was fairly small although there was a balcony which had great views over Kandy. The TV was not working and the fan on the ceiling was completely broken and gaffa taped together. The bathroom had lots of small insects around the shower and did not look like it had been cleaned properly prior to our arrival. The hotel was also fairly noisy overnight and it was difficult to get a good nights sleep. The main positive of this hotel was that the food standard was fairly good. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel and both meals were of a good standard. The hotel itself is on a hillside and therefore you need a transport to get back into Kandy. There is fairly little within walking distance in terms of shops/restaurants etc. We only stayed in this hotel for one night and it was manageable overnight, however it would have been difficult for us to stay there much longer. The staff were friendly enough but the cleanliness of the bathroom and standard of the room really let this hotel down.
Spent 1 night on 14th July 2017, Very Good location, Rooms are clean enough but Bathrooms needs some refurbishment. Big selection of Breakfast, Friendly staffs. I Liked this Hotel. Very good location.
Basic rooms but a well kept hotel in a beautiful setting high above Kandy. Very friendly and attentive staff, and a tasty traditional breakfast. Difficult to reach if you aren't with someone that knows the roads.
We visited Kandy in the month of December, 2016. As far as the hotel is concerned, it is a little away from the city center forcing you to be dependent on some kind of public transport. However, the gain is huge too. From any corner of the hotel - whether from the balcony of your room or the dining area, you get stunning view of the city including the view of Bahiravokanda Vihara Buddha Statue. Lush greens on the slopes of the mountains are sure to catch your eyes. The hotel itself is very interestingly constructed interfering minimally with the natural terrain of the area. Our children loved taking the different sets of stairs and elevators to reach our room from the reception. The room was huge with four independent single beds. The bathroom was surprisingly small though. The food was a little let down though. Whether it is the breakfast buffet or the dinner, we did not find anything worth mentioning. They do have entries from continental and traditional Sri Lankan, but none really too good. We found the travel desk to be a little expensive too because of which we ended up renting from outside. The wifi signal may not be too strong from your rooms.
I spent two nights in the Serene Garden during a tour of Sri Lanka. The staff were very friendly and the evening meals in the restaurant were value for money. My room was very large and spacious and overall i enjoyed my stay. It should be noted that the hotel is a vehicle ride from Kandy so not ideal for anyone looking to go out in the evening but its location on the hillside is perfect for relaxing. The downsides were the poor wifi and the layout of the hotel as well as the damp feel that the bedding had on my arrival but after turning the AC on this improved.
Staffs were kind. Food was okay. Room was large (we ordered a room that fits for 3 people and it's so spacious), the view was nice. The downside for me is the wifi that's so weak and the hotel's layout is kinda confusing. So many taking stair to go up or down to reach our room. And it's a problem for my mother who has leg problem. If you're fit, i think it's a right hotel for you
We spent only one night in this hotel. We really enjoyed it. I liked a view, swimming pool and perfect meal - variety of meals. Wifi is available. Lobby personal were very kind and helpful. The rooms were clean.
