Stayed four nights in a deluxe room. The rooms are actually small villas situated around the grounds. Golf carts are usually available to drive you to the room, and the rooms are fairly modern and well maintained. Pool is nice enough, breakfast was good, and buffet dinner was ok. Nice setting, amongst the trees and next to a large lake. The spa was quite poor though, was not well maintained and the treatment was very average. Not worth the money. Overall, a good choice in Dambulla.
I stayed here recently with a friend for the weekend whilst visiting Dambulla, Sigiriya etc and it was the nicest hotel/venue of my 2.5 week trip around Sri Lanka. Beautiful bungalows, friendly staff and a great swimming pool made it a relaxing and very enjoyable stay. For the price the value was outstanding as we paid 21000 rs per night HB. Thoroughly recommend
We came as a group for our company trip. As one of the organizers of the trip I was really impressed with the location and overall stay. Pros : Fantastic view towards to the Kandalama Lake and feel the nature with all the surroundings and the sounds of birds. Welcome was very friendly and the chalet I stayed was clean with a large bathroom. Big enough swimming pool to enjoy as a group plus there are more than enough facilities to play some games like cricket, tennis, badminton...etc. Sitting under the trees in front of the lake is very relaxing. Food were quality and tasty, but with less variety. Cons : Service of the restaurant was quite low and not up to the level of reputation of Amaya. One of my colleagues had to ask child chair for his infant three times and had to wait for more than ten minutes. One chef was waiting for the gas cylinder to be arrived to make the hoppers while everyone is waiting in the queue. Even though the tables were allocated for different groups, some of our tables were not prepared with napkins and all. So, the overall experience during the time at restaurant was not pleasant at all. So, overall the experience of stay was pleasant and smooth except the experience at res
We were at room no 87 and the hotel experience is unique. Hotel is arranged as a eco friendly environment. You can have the real joy of nature here. Food is tasty. People are friendly. But drinking water cost is unreasonable. Some shower equipment are broken in room no 87. Internet speed is too slow.
We had a wonderful experience with this hotel. Staff was very supportive . Food was awesome. Must place to visit in Sri Lanka. Ms Priyanthi supported us very much. Club car driver Mr. Chandana was very carefull when driving since my wife was pregnant.
Amaya Lake hotel is a wonderful peaceful place to stay. The bungalows are spacious and very comfortable. It is set beside a beautiful lake with stunning views. Food is splendid. Staff are helpful and friendly.
We stayed for two nights at the Amaya Lake Resort during the Buddhist new year eve. Celebrations near the lake were awesome. Food is extraordinary along with music band performing. Bungalows are clean and comfortable. I highly recommend staying in this resort, especially for families (there is a swimming pool).
We stayed there end of june 2017. We were 3 families with small kids. We got 3 rooms close to each other. Room are big, nice and clean with all amenities. We stayed there 4 nights, as our daughter was sick we stayed in the hotel for the full 4 days. Place is great, 2 pools, you can have a walk close to the lake, playground for kids...environment is amazing. Staff is friendly and helpful. A perfect spot to visit the region and relax at the same time.
Nice hotel which is very close to the Kandalama lake. Two hotels are functioning in same land from same check-in desk called, Amaya Lake and Amaya signeture which are belonging to the Amaya group. Hotel has a good Ayurvedic and Spa center. Meals are good but not presented well. Less seafood items with buffets in my stayed dates. It is with plenty of ever green ground space you can walk around with.
We stayed here as a family of 4 (children aged 7 & 10) for 2 nights in early July. We had a simple perfect stay - the staff could not have been more attentive and the surroundings were absolutely spectacular. A really calm, beautiful place where we felt totally relaxed and we'll take care of. Stunning groom with the most amazing bathroom comp, etc with spa bath. Great pool too which we made great use of. Thank you Amaya lake for taking such good care of us and making us feel so welcome!
