As other reviewers have said the building is not pretty, but please do not be put off. The location is great the rooms clean bright and comfortable .however the staff are the ones that made our trip wonderful they made our stay memorable because of their enthusiasm, kindness and knowledge . Yes you can pay more , but I would rather spend money on other things
What a little gem of place. Totally ignore the outside view of the building and enjoy the clean and comfortable surroundings of the inside. Location was great - 5 to 10 mins walk to the beach, old town, harbour and a good range of restaurants and supermarkets. We stayed for a full week and enjoyed the use of the common tea/coffee area and modern spacious bedrooms with good wifi and Netflix ready TVs. The AC was a godsend in baking hot conditions outside. The breakfast was OK but the same limited menu for the week did get boring towards the last few days. Recommended.
The perfect place to stay to explore the central are of Split! Service from all was exemplary! Rooms superb, clean and very well equipped. Breakfast was served at a very local Bistro Toc’s....this was really good as well, in fact as we missed breakfast the one morning due to an early start, they provided us with perhaps the best packed lunch we have ever seen, excellent quality....We will return!!
We recently visited up there design rooms for a week's stay. Our first contact with the hotel was before we arrived as we were contacted via email to ask if we wanted to arrange an airport shuttle, the price of this was 250 kuna which was much cheaper than any other transfer we had looked at and so we were pleased to accept this, which worked our perfectly for us when we arrived. The hotel is just a short walk (about 10 minutes for us, in our 20's of average fitness) from the main centre of Split and has plenty of smaller shops, tourist/excursion centres and restaurants surrounding the building. The bus/ferry terminals are nearby too, convenient for exploring other areas or island hopping. We arrived too early for usual check in at 2pm however, the staff accommodated us by providing us with a drink from the coffee machine at reception, that can be used free of charge any time during the day, and informed us they would have the room ready for us asap. During this time the receptionist went out of his way to give us lots of helpful information, maps and booklets for us to plan our holiday in Split. Within 20 minutes our room was ready for us and did not disappoint, the room was very clean, and the view of the mountains from our window was stunning. The room provides a safe, mini fridge with one complimentary 1ltr bottle of water, comfortable bed, efficient air con, toiletries, hair dryer and a fantastic shower. Breakfast is at Toc's bistro just a 2 minute walk from the hotel which was fine for us but may not be ideal for everybody. The only downsides to our stay were that the breakfast menu at Toc's was very limited and we found ourselves having the same breakfast for most of the days. Our other issue was that roads outside were really busy and noisy late into the evening, the window in our room did not close properly either, we think the latch was broken, which meant the noise of the road was even louder for us most evenings, but we were able to sleep eventually. Other than this we were impressed with our stay and glad of the complimentary umbrellas at reception that we could borrow as it was pretty rainy for our stay.
Like the website says, don't be put off by the exterior building. We arrived after midnight to check into our room which was not a problem. Staff were friendly & helpful, the rooms were clean & modern. Location is perfect, you can walk just about anywhere as it is so central. Breakfast vouchers were provided for a lovely restaurant only 2 minutes away which was ideal & provided breakfast from 7am-12pm. Beautiful views of the city from the bedrooms.
First and foremost I want to give accolades for the incredible staff. Petra and Marko are the most sincere, kind, caring staff I have ever seen anywhere in the world. If the property were less than perfect I would give 5 stars based on their being so helpful and caring during our stay. We found this property last minute and everything about it worked for a quick stay in Split. It is well-located, comes with breakfast, has MAGNIFICENT views and is extremely clean. A great value but foremost is Petra and Marko. I wish I could clone them as we travel a lot and have yet to encounter such excellence in the hospitality industry like them. Well done.
We had a very nice stay in this Hotel, the best of all was his employees ,the help we got for our research for our family tree was outstanding,The hints and the calls they made for as on our behalf . Thank you so much.
We stayed here a week and I thought the place was great. The rooms are super clean and the staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. They helped us plan trips - like getting a catamaran ferry to hvar island instead of an expensive tour or finding a cheap bus to take us to the local shopping centers. The location is perfect, easy for the old town, the local beach, the bus station, the train station and all the ferries. The building the rooms are in is super tall so you have amazing views over the town and the sea (for most of the rooms - check out the attached room map). The negative bit is that it isn't really a hotel, just a floor on a building with other rooms and offices/apartments. The floor has some rooms with a common room/ reception where you can make tea or coffee. While the rooms themselves are super clean and modern with very fresh and simple decor, the building is older and a bit rundown. There is always a staff member from morning until about 10 at night. The other negative thing is the breakfast, which other people have mentioned. However I will say this, I couldn't really find any great breakfast place in the whole of split, it's pretty much omelettes and bacon/eggs everywhere. So the bistron where you could use your vouchers was pretty standard and you could at least order breakfast burritos which seemed very popular but are alas not included in your breakfast voucher. Plus very nearby in the direction of the ferry port are several fine bakeries where you can get coffee and croissants. I wish the hotel offered croissants/cereal/toast in the cafe area in the morning as it would really up their game.
The hotel is so simple and clean. It's just one floor in a business tower with a set of rooms. The staff is really great (it is important to keep in mind that sympathy is quite rare to find in croatians). We faced an electricity shut down due to refurbishments on the entire building that lasted from 16 to 22h but the staff was very nice. We were given a bottle of local wine as an apology. Since nothing is completely perfect, the breakfast is awful. The hotel provides vouchers for the guests to have their breakfast in the near Toc Bistro. Despite the fact that it should be served from 7 to 10 AM, they were always very late. We had to wait every day for 4 days the waiters to open the house and put the tables out. One day it took more than 40 minutes for an omelet to be served. As one guest said about the same issue "leisurely pace with a walk back".
I picked this hotel for the location to the centre and ferries. It is a set of rooms on one floor of a tower block. Breakfast is a walk down the road to a restaurant. Everything is served at a leisurely pace with a walk back. Not great if you have a tight schedule.
