The hotel is situated very close to Lidl. It is in a car park with free parking. The room is very basic but also good compared to other Croatian hotels we stayed at. The male owner isn't so good with English but the two girls at reception are very nice! Good hotel for the price. It would have 5 stars if the tv was better!
My husband I booked a hotel room but when we got there we found out that we had been moved to a 2 bedroom apartment not even in the hotel! The worst part we were on the 6th floor with no lift! There was another couple we were talking to and they had the same problem, but they were put in a hostel! I complained and the next day they moved us back to the hotel, leaving a poor young girl to drag our bags back! Hotel is very basic, maybe a 2 star. Very disappointed. I also think it is dishonest to keep taking bookings when you know your 11 rooms are full and then billet people out to other properties.
There was a problem when we arrived at aboiut 23:30. Although we had booked and paid, there was no room for us, so they put us up in an apartment close to the centre of town. Next day they said we could stay there of move to the hotel. As we had paid for B&B we opted to stay in the hotel. The hotel was a 3 star, very clean with air con, TV and fridge in the room. The breakfast was continental, nothing to shout about. Free wifi was good. The hotel is a 10 min walk from the centre of town, 15 min to the port. It is right across the road from Lidl. This is good because it's easy to find the place in a stange city.
A small hostel with tiny rooms and uncomfortable beds, tucked away in a parking lot, this has little to recommend it. The owner was lovely but we were so pleased to move on. I can't see how they can remedy this, just go elsewhere. Split is lovely.
Nice room with very friendly and helpful personel. Reasonable distance to centre, shoppingmall Joker and Bene beach. 100 m to Lidl and 2-3 other shops and cafeteria, bakery and a bar. If you want to buy some refreshments,
Apart from the owner being helpful and driving us to the airport as well as helping us upgrading from a single to a double room... The room however was a bit of a disgrace. Our shower head was broken off the handle so we had to hold it while showering. We spent three nights at Villa Marjela and not once was our sheets changed or offered new towels or toilet paper. We had to change our own sheets and ask for our own toilet paper. The villa is in a somewhat uncomfortable area and is not safe to walk around at night. If you want a relaxing villa this is not the place to be.
Stayed here for a couple of nights while passing through Split. Give 2 star because the bathroom was at least very clean. The bedroom floor and walls, however, were not so clean. The beds were very uncomfortable - thin mattress which was on a slant so couldn't lie completely flat and when sat down could feel the wood underneath. The air conditioning was fully functional, which combined with the high ceilings kept the room nice and cool. The bathroom, although clean, housed a broken shower (the clip for the head was damaged so you had to hold it above yourself while showering). Was unable to sample breakfast as our main reason for stopping in split was for day trips (national park for example) which require an early start - and this hotel does not provide an early breakfast. This hotel is very cheap so it would be unreasonable to expect top quality - however I would expect better.
Pros: Clean, walking distance to Diocletian's Palace, free parking, cheap. Cons: The place is situated in a neighborhood of grimy communist-era apartment blocks utterly devoid of character. Also they don't take credit cards so if you don't have enough currency to cover the bill you have to go out and find an ATM.
The place is definitely not 3 star, the rooms smelled, AC didn't work (though they did move us to another room when we complained) breakfast was bad. The only saving grace was the staff at the reception.
We stayed here for 2 nights in September 2015. We are 3 40 something women who were on a 8 week trip through Europe and this was midway through our journey. Our accommodation was around three star throughout our travels and we were very happy with all our other accommodation places - all except this one. The room was just ok. The bathroom was ridiculously small. If you are over 5ft 10in good luck with the shower. The shower head was broken and just hanging limp on the wall. What I found most concerning was when we left the accommodation to go explore Split, we were asked to hand over the room key. When I asked why the man at check in got very defensive and rude. He later apologised but I did like the fact that they had the key to the room with all our personal stuff in it. The location is ok and the breakfast just ok. I would not stay here again as there are many other places in better locations at similar prices and that operate as normal accommodation places - you get to hold on to your key during your stay
