The room was wonderful. The AC didn't work well but we left the balcony door open and opened the windows and it made for a pretty good breeze. The food was not good at all. The best thing was a shrimp Alfredo that we had one day for lunch. The staff was ok. Most of them walked around with scowls on their faces but there were a few that made up for that. Gregory was very pleasant and helpful. Shevika at the front desk was wonderful and very helpful as well. Leo went out of his way to say hello every time she saw us. Rohan and Jocelyn in the restaurant/bar were very friendly. I will say though that we had a medical emergency while there and they were all very helpful with that. Even Charles the security guard that we never met went out of his way to assist. The food was not good, the pool closes at 6pm, and the pool bar was only opened 1 of the 6 days we were there. Otherwise, I would recommend this location.

Truly a slice of paradise! The serene and tranquil environment made it the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, ensuring restful nights, and the food was both delicious and abundant — every meal was a treat. The staff were warm and welcoming, adding to the overall relaxing atmosphere. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. The hotel wasn’t bad but I was very disappointed in the all inclusive package. When thinking about all inclusive you think all you can eat and all you drink but unfortunately for us that was not the case. The meal portions are very small and every time we would ask for something extra we were denied. You could not have anything you wanted to eat or snack on through the day only at certain hours. When bringing it up with the staff we were advised that all inclusive does not mean that to them. So over all the all inclusive is worthless here and I would not go back or recommend this hotel to anyone. I spend so much money to relax and eat and instead ended up hungry half the time and paying for extra food on the outside when you can supposedly eat all you want at your all inclusive is not something that is right that is just more expense when supposedly you already had food sorted out. And the worst part is that all the staff started being rude once you complain about this issue and it was never resolved.

Disappointed & Misleading Advertising This resort did not match the photos or descriptions advertised. We paid extra for an “ocean view” room, but the property doesn’t have any real ocean views. They also claim easy beach access, but it's actually a not-so-safe walk, and while they offer a shuttle, it only runs once an hour. When questioned about the ocean view, they stated over the years the trees have grown just enjoy the oxygen. The location is also quite far—about an hour from town, which made getting around difficult. While the staff were friendly and tried their best, they kept saying they couldn’t make any decisions and that everything was up to a manager who was never on duty. On the plus side, the food was great. However, the "all-inclusive" offering was limited to just one restaurant.

We had a wonderful stay at Sugar Cane Club! The food at both restaurants was delicious, and I especially looked forward to dessert daily (gaining 4 lbs, but totally worth it!). The lush, mature greenery made the grounds feel serene and well-maintained. A highlight was the hidden hike we found below the swings on the way to Chattel Restaurant—a great little adventure. We also enjoyed live music on BBQ night and the guitarist at lunch, which added charm since the hotel doesn’t offer much entertainment. That wasn’t an issue for us, as we had a car and simply enjoyed each other’s company. The resort attracts an older crowd, so if you’re looking for excitement, this may not be the place. However, if you love beautiful surroundings, spacious colonial-style rooms, friendly staff (big thanks to Juliette for going above and beyond!), delicious food, and a peaceful, romantic atmosphere, it’s perfect. Our only issue was paying extra for an ocean-view room but being placed near the kitchen, so we could hear the preparations of every meal and the clanking of utensils and the tree coverage blocked the view because we were only on the second floor. Luckily, we were moved to a higher-floor room on night two, which we absolutely loved. Overall, Sugar Cane Club is a fantastic choice for couples seeking a relaxing, intimate escape in a breathtaking setting!
