Let me start by saying this was our family's first "big" vacation. First time in Barbados and first time out of the country for the kids (aged 7,11,15). I spent an absurd amount of time researching the best island to visit and place to stay. Looking back we made the best choice by staying here. We wanted a 3 bedroom, ocean front property. You really cant find that elsewhere. The resort is quiet, which we liked. Plenty to do for the kids. And I think we tried just about everything on the menu at the Gazebo. We took the free water taxi to Niki beach one day. We took again to the sister resort and had the pool and bar to ourselves. We used the included water sports activities a lot. We did go out on the big mable and fishing. The included swimming with the turtles was better than the one we paid for. They basically let you swim for a full hour. The staff was great, especially Raymond on the beach. We had room 308 which was great. Huge, amazing view and large outside area for eating, relaxing or just sitting in the jacuzzi. I could go on forever. My only issue was with check out, we were running late and did not have the time to review our detailed bill until we got home. I did discover we charged for things I already paid for, such as the breakfast and room levy tax. Upon contacting the hotel they responded quickly and gave me a refund the next day. If we come back to Barbados this would be the place we stay!
We are a family of 4 in a 3 bed apartment ( villa ). We paid for a 2 bed and the third bedroom has been locked, fairly enough! The property is stunning, massive apartment and truly 5 star ( and I am very fussy ). Beach is fantastic, pool fantastic, little restaurant fantastic, staff fantastic. Lots of restaurants close by. Absolutely love it here.
My children (ages 9, 11) and I loved this resort! It was beautiful, clean, and the staff was amazing. Alexis at the gazebo bar and Raymond on the beach are absolute assets to this property! The beach was free of trash and not crowded. Plenty of activities at the beach to keep all ages busy and entertained. The ocean was calm and there are plenty of fish to see when snorkeling The only negative thing I can say about this resort is that the food choices are limited, but there are options for everyone.
Normally my wife (the Travel Expert - see @HotelNinja) books our travel. But this trip was a gift to her from m e to celebrate her birthday. I worked with Rosalind (the concierge at St. Peter's) from day one. She helped me select the room, restaurants, excursions, and even assisted me in getting connected with some local surfers for a couple of sessions in the water while we were there. She was nothing short of amazing! Kurt, Waldo and especially Jamar took care of our transportation needs an d went way beyond - we have a tendency to wander more than most - several times Jamar had to "rescue" us form ourselves..and he was most patient on our many "goose chases". He even helped my wife find a home where her ancestors had lived once! We also indulged and have Vivian Best, a local Chef (also provided by Rosalind) come to our Villa and prepare a meal for us. The trip was more than amazing for us - we loved the quiet atmosphere, the staff was more than friendly, and above all my wife - aka @HotelNinja was overly pleased and impressed....thank you SPB crew!
I would like to rate 3 1/2 stars but since I can't I will bump it up to 4 stars. We traveled here with 2 families. We picked this resort based pretty much for the way the resort could sleep our group. We needed space that could sleep families and this fit that notch so we went ahead and booked. The room itself is great, all that you need like at home. The kitchen was fully equipped with all that you would need to make meals and the laundry room was a great bonus. The elevator on the balcony is a great convenience. They don't restock coffee so if you like to drink a lot of coffee bring some ground coffee with you or order ahead of time from the shopping list. Room furnishings definitely showing some wear and we had the premium rooms (supposed to have better furnishings ) The guest bedroom came with 2 twin beds which is good for traveling with kids, but not good if traveling with another couple or adult. Also I found this important, the guest bedroom does NOT have a television, again good for some but not everyone. Lets talk about mosquitos!! The open concept of the room is GREAT, however, holy mosquitos! We got attacked. While we were there the resort had some resort spraying going which would have been nice if they sprayed at a separate time not while people were sitting out at the pool area to inhale the chemicals. This apartment focuses on repeat clients who when I was there I spoke with 3-4 different groups that all have been here previously. The hotel manager would mingle with these guests and not a peep to our group at all. Also the staff....with the exception of the kids club girl (jamilia I believe her name was ) She was THE BEST OF THE WHOLE STAFF at this place so if management is reading this she deserves some praise. She was fantastic :) Also the beach staff we had no complaints about. The rest of the staff no one really seemed to want to bother. Towards the end of our stay we saw some kids that the staff knew by name that they were making drinks for but no bother whatsoever to our group of 8. We would have appreciated some personal detail but that was non existent. One of the guests told us that the hotel regular staff was off the week we were there because they had a huge group the week before so maybe thats why the service was so off??? Not one time did anyone ask if you wanted a drink by the pool or on the beach but the bar was close so not to big of a deal, just mentioning the things that can't make it 4 or 5 star imo. The hotel restaurant was fine but got very repetitive as it is the only food option. The hotel says you get one complimentary turtle snorkle but please inquire and set that up when you arrive because we had no idea it ran once a day and when we asked it was all booked up so we missed out on that as well. There is a bus stop right out in front of the resort which is great if you want to take advantage of leaving the resort and taxis passing by regularly also if you need. So I would sum up my stay by saying if you are the type of traveler who wants peace and quite, no music or entertainment, low maintenance, wants the luxuries of having a kitchen, living space, laundry space then you will enjoy the hotel. If you like service, entertainment, food variety then I would say pass on this.
Have just returned from St Peter’s bay hotel as a family of four with a teenager -we all agreed it was our best holiday. The accommodation was luxurious and spacious including a Hot tub and lift down to pool on the balcony, great views from fourth floor. The staff could not have been more helpful the kids made friends with them all we can’t wait to go back. Swimming with turtles was magical thank you St Peter’s Bay
We took mid-term break off from dreary London. Couldn’t have been happier with accommodation in 3 bedroom 3 bathroom villa self contained kitchen and jacuzzi on verandah overlooking the pool and beach. Staff were great and we had great breakfast by the beach included each morning and we ate dinner a couple of nights at the Gazebo bar and restaurant with very good food wine and service in casual atmosphere. Beach clean and paddle boards and kayaks for the kids and adults- free water taxi service to Port Ferdinand and organised snorkelling and 1 hour fishing trips. Highly recommend - only complaint would be that only one restaurant to chose from but short walk to Speitstown and the gas and restaurants on the little Bristol strip. Even better take lunch in one of the nearby local bars and you won’t be disappointed
A group of 11 of us stayed at St. Peter’s Bay, and I can not say enough. The staff was very helpful arranging transportation, Curtis, he drove us the entire week, the beach bar had great salads, and local dishes, and drinks. The concierge was helpful all week. They arranged a chef to cook one night in our room. He did a great job and made a entire meal that was fresh and gluten free as requested. The hotel hosted a poolside cocktail party/barbecue that was fun, and delicious. Beautiful little beach at the hotel, they had plenty of chairs and umbrellas. We also found our rooms to be very clean. They even take you down the coast to swim with the turtles. All and all I was very pleased.
Our stay at St Peters Bay was extraordinary! The place, the service, the beach, the people of Barbados! Can’t wait to visit again! Found our own personal driver and tour guide Renaldo of exquisite chauffeur services! Don’t hesitate to call him and his team prior to arrival to arrange airport pickup etc! Can’t wait to visit again!
This hotel is perfect for the family to spend together. The beach is clean and full of umbrellas and shade and large variety of water sports. The kids club is all age friendly up to 15 years old and can accommodate baby sitting, meals and activities. Food was great and many vegetarian, gluten free options and had a kids menu which was perfect for fussy eaters as well. On new years ever, December 2018, there were fireworks on the beach at midnight which was a beautiful and enjoyable experience. The weather was good except the rain was an issue on the last few days of our stay but, the hotel accommodated this well by placing more umbrellas on the beach, by the pool etc. Overall, great hotel, suitable for all ages. Great variety of activities throughout the day and night for kids and adults. Perfect for a holiday with the family.
