Whilst visiting our daughter in Southampton we stayed here for 3 nights...... very nice hotel... room was comfortable plenty of space and very quiet.... really loved the bar here and felt so at home with the very friendly bar staff and manager.... was lovely coming in after being out all day and having drink at the bar before dinner.... fab breakfast too.... probably nicest scrambled eggs I have eaten! Will definitely be back here...... thoroughly reccommend
Friendly staff at check in and a lovely room with all the amenities you could ask for including fresh milk in the fridge, a bottle of London Pride and bottled water. Breakfast was big and offered a wide variety of food. Loved the bar downstairs too.
We stayed at The White Star Tavern near the end of September for one night before our cruise and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We LOVE this hotel and the restaurant/pub below. Beautiful, clean rooms and common areas, delicious cocktails and breakfast, and extremely friendly/helpful staff! It was also a quick drive (aka affordable Uber/cab ride) to the port and in an excellent location within walking distance to pubs/lounges and restaurants. Whenever I am in Southampton next, I'll be staying at The White Star Tavern and will highly recommend it to friends/family staying in the area! Thank you all for kicking off our holiday in such a memorable way!
Stayed here one Night Post Cruise due to The Titanic Connection and walking Proximity to Southampton Historic Sights. Lovely Cozy Pub feel in The Restaurant and the Food (Fish & Chips) was delicious with generous servings, as was the Cooked to Order English Breakfast the next Morning. The Staff was very nice and Helpful, and although no elevator, they carry your luggage Up and Down the Short Set of Stairs. Much nicer than bland, boring and generic Hotels with no flair or flavor and highly recommended.
My wife and I stayed here for two nights prior to a cruise around the British Isles. Bridget and Emma and the rest of the staff are just amazing. I couldn't figure out how to work the in room coffee and Bridget offered to come up and show me. It was just as easy for her to make me an Americano in the morning while I was eating breakfast. This building is the old White Star Offices and is just a grand old lady. When I return to Southampton, this is where I'll stay.
My family and I stopped in for lunch and the food was great. It is right in the heart of Southampton and a perfect place to stop when visiting all the sites. The manager there was amazing, I only wished I caught her name. She was full of so much information about the town and answered all my White Star questions. Of all the restaurants in Southhampton, this would be my first choice by far.
Excellent food, Excellent Service. This will always be a go to spot when in Southampton for us. They have taken “British Pub” to a new level with healthier food options. Seems to also function as a sports bar, special functions meeting place. We stopped by on what happened to be very big night for the football community and they were still able to accommodate us. I recommend exploring making a reservation on busy nights.
We have been 3 nights at the White Star Tavern. The Oxford Street is a party zone. We like is. The conclusion i s that the rooms are not quiet. The rooms are very, very nice. We had a middle deck room. The room was pretty warm (in September!).
A lovely welcoming venue. Fantastic fun bar staff . Good choice of menu serving quality food .Excellent customer service always with a smile .Highly recommend The White Star Tavern and look forward to taking visitors when they come to town.
Been here a few times now and on each occasion everything has been 1st class. First time was with a large post wedding breakfast party - must have been about 15 or more of us. Service was excellent and so was everybody's food - Spot on!! Last visit we were just coming into town and decided to start at The White Star with breakfast - although I'm not, I had the vegetarian full English and it was very good - couldn't fault it. My friend had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs which was also excellent. I've previously had the smashed avocado and scrambled eggs but only found it on the menu after I had ordered or i| would have had that again. Yes, all very good and can;t wait to go again really!
