Super great place and we loved staying there! An Icelandic gem! Just wonderful.

It is a beautiful area! Staff were friendly in the morning when serving breakfast. Self check in was easy.

First of all they wouldn’t pick up the phone at all. We tried calling the property for 2 days and no one would pick up the phone. When we got there there was a pile of trash next to the entrance. Wasn’t very inviting. When we got there we had to call the different phone number so a person came in to give us the keys. There’s no one at the property for any help of questions. The shower pressure upstairs is horrible. It may take you 30-40 mins to take shower since it would slow down if someone else turns on the water in the building. Hot water wouldn’t come for mins at a time. They wouldn’t clean the rooms only change the towels for 3 days. One guest arrived late at night around 9-10pm and once they called the number to get the keys. They came to find out that their reservation is canceled and they should have received the email about 4-5 hours ago. That was due to overbooking. There were no hotel rooms available at all in the area. I wouldn’t recommend unless it’s an emergency.

No Service No electricity and water for few hours Lots of hassle

Started out kind of scary as the access case never got to us and at first we couldn’t find anyone to get in BUT it turned out to be one of our two favorite places in Iceland once we got in. The staff was helpful, food was good, location was perfect, scenery amazing and more. Once we thought of it like an Airbnb with a great breakfast served, we got used to the unique style and loved it.

This property was in a beautiful location and the room was very nice. Our room was very chilly at first as 2 of the 3 radiators were not working, but we contacted the manager who quickly responded and brought us a heater.

Log Cabin is well kept and maintained. Remote and great place for a relaxed and peaceful vacation.

Beautiful facility in a beautiful location. Walls were a little thin, but other than that everything seemed great. Breakfast was good, room was clean, checkin was very easy. There is an option to get a room with a private bathroom, so not all rooms are shared bathrooms despite what other reviewers have said.

I never met any staff, so I couldn't rate them. The hotel was very hard to find, my GPS kept sending me to the other (Ocean) side of the main highway. I finally had to call the hotel to find it. The hotel had the feel of a ski lodge and the outside and common area are beautiful. Our room was not, however. It had a very slanted ceiling and you had to literally crawl with our hands on the bed to reach the other side of the bed. I just did not find it to be a very comfortable room. Breakfast looked great and came with the room, but I only had the coffee.

It is an unattended hotel with a self check-in Kiosk.

We had a wonderful stay. The hotel was beautiful and the location was amazing. The room was small but very cozy and clean. We had the chance to chat with other guests and it was great to have hot water and tea available at night. We would certainly stay here again!

We had two rooms...the top floor "family room" was spacious with an excellent view...our two single beds room was a bit cramped with a view of the parking lot :(

Room is very small, no amenities at all, no floor towel provided so after taking the shower you don't have anything to wipe to your feet. The lady in the breakfast room is always looking to all the guest while we are eating and she look very strict and unfriendly.

Beautiful location. As other reviews had said, owners/staff very difficult to reach when we had a problem with our room. Non-responsive for 6 hours to email and phone calls. Reservation was not as promised.

Arrived at 8:30pm, no staff available, had to call the number on the wall to get the room lockbox passcode. Our room was clean, however upon entering the room, I noticed the "old house" smell. wifi was really slow in the cabin, you can't stream videos. Breakfast is okay, no hot food.

Hotel Lambafell is situated off the main highway on the Southern Coast of Iceland somewhat near Vik. The Hotel itself is not manned by any around the clock staff, rather the keys are left in lockboxes right next to each room. The hotel is a small, cabin like building that has a comfortable common area and rooms on two floors. The rooms themselves were comfortable and well furnished. The location is very nice.

Was a nice hotel, only complaints are that the set up was a little confusing for finding our room when we got there and there were no signs or maps to help us. Also the showers were poorly designed so water got everywhere! Nice location though.

Stayed for two nights and had no electricity. Emailed the staff and received no response. There was no staff in the office. And tried reaching out with the hotel phone.

This is an absolutely great place to stay. Close to the main highway, in a beautiful setting. The hotel is in perfect condition, the room is clean. The staff is a bit unmotivated and is apparently overwhelmed by the tasks during the breakfast rush hours. Still, a very good value for the money.
