We stayed at Hotel Regina for 12 nights during June. Lovely hotel in a great location for restaurants and shops. The hotel is situated in a fairly quiet road but only a few minutes walk from the main town and Ports. Lovely room with a sea view kept beautifully clean by Lella. It was extremely hot during our stay but the fantastic air conditioning in the room kept us cool, with no noise at night! Great breakfast in the 4th floor restaurant with amazing views of Bay of Naples and Vesuvius. Roof top terrace is a great place for a drink before or after dinner. Nice pool (not big) set in nice gardens with lemon and orange trees. Guissepe, Maria and Mattia looked after us very well and the reception staff were so helpful and friendly. Sorrento is fabulous but it is definitely not a cheap holiday!

Stayed here for 4 nights. There was a mix up with the booking a couple of days beforehand. Not the hotels fault and more to do with an error by the booking website. Antonino on reception sorted this out for us very quickly over the phone and with minimum fuss. He even gave us a discount for the inconvenience. The hotel is located just above the beautiful harbour and is less than 5 minutes’ walk from Tasso Square. Rooms were very nice (we had a garden view) and the view from the dining room for breakfast was spectacular as it looks out onto the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. There’s also a rooftop bar with waiter service. Hotel was spotless. Staff very helpful and professional. Swimming pool is very small, but it is located in a lovely garden with plenty of shade under the lemon trees. Only thing to be aware of is that taxis are horrendously expensive in Sorrento. We paid €20 for a 5-minute taxi ride from the train station. Rooms are a bit more pricey that other 4 stars but well worth it for the location alone. Would highly recommend.

lovely hotel, great location, economy bedroom is lovely but very limited room space, you need to walk sideways past bed and table to access toilet and door.spotless clean, clean beddind and towels daily, maid lella was lovely. all staff in hotel polite and friendly unlike Italians in resort, abrupt and not polite.Be aware also although hotel in a great location, you may have to walk down about 100 yard narrow road to hotel as large cars/minibus have difficulty accessing and we were literally dumped outside another hotel by minibus driver and told to walk.Beautiful resort, lovely restaurants. Be aware of some restaurants they may put a seating charge on your bill "copperto" and also a service charge. Hotel charger 6euro per person on arrival( in cash) and then was surprised when i was charged 42 euro on checkout. All these extra charges make an already expensive resort even more so, take plenty money with you, you will need it

I stayed here after 3 nights in busy Rome. I was greeted by the cheerful reception staff who showed me to my room which was spacious and furnished tastefully, . My views were of the pretty garden surrounding the pool, abundant with lemon and orange trees. A bottle of wine had been left as a welcome gift which was a lovely surprise. This hotel has excellent free WIFI. Although situated on a little road, the pool area was tranquil and peaceful. The waiters were very attentive and checked to see if you needed a drink and brought them to you with complimentary snacks. The reception staff were always cheerful day or night and helpful. Breakfast was ample with a wide choice of food and on asking the head waiter if there were vegan pastries ( I'm vegan) the chef then made me a bespoke vegan breakfast every morning. There are stunning views of Mt.Vesuvius from the breakfast room and the hotel also has an rooftop bar where you can sit on sofas and gaze out to sea. Prices reasonable considering the location. !!! All in all, this hotel for me was more than a 4 star, I would rate it at 5 star. The staff are all impeccable and go out of their way to ensure that you are comfortable and happy. A big Thankyou to the head waiter Guiseppe (Joseph) for my breakfasts and also to the chamber maid Lena who was always so cheerful. Overall the hotel is immaculate, with beautiful gardens and impeccable service. As a single traveller, I felt very at home there and could have stayed longer. THANK YOU

We stayed in this hotel for the second week of our wedding holiday/honeymoon. The first week was spent in a 5* hotel just around the corner. So for us, it was a bit of a let down in terms of facilities, size of room, bathroom experience...everything really. Considering this is a 4* hotel, it's facilities are limited. It does have a small pool and loungers which they finally opened just before the Easter weekend, along with the roof top bar. The latter was nice and had some lovely views. We had a room with 2 balconies so had a view of Vesuvius and then one to the side of the building (where we got the afternoon and evening sun!) The room was quite small and the bathroom even smaller with just a shower - which is fine. However, it wasn't especially clean. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room but you could get yourself a coffee from the lobby where there was a jug of freshly made coffee. Breakfast was the biggest let down. I love having breakfast when on holiday but this ended up being a very short affair as the choice was very limited. If you like lots of sweet pastries, then you would probably be in heaven but I'm not a fan and my husband is a diabetic so for him the choice was even more limited. Very little fresh fruit unless you wanted to eat a huge whole apple or orange (which we did due to lack of fresh food). This was one of the poorest breakfasts I've had in a hotel for quite some time. On a positive note, the staff were very helpful and polite and always greeted us with a smile. They made us feel very welcome. It was in a quiet location too. However, I didn't sleep very well due to the incredibly hard bed (I woke up several nights with hip ache as I sleep on my side). Also, the air conditioning was set to winter despite it being 22+ degrees outside so we couldn't have it any lower than over 20 degrees. This made sleeping unbearable so I had to open the windows - then couldn't sleep due to foot traffic and voice noise (main route down to the marina grande). This was a quiet hotel and was OK for chilling. Perhaps had we stayed in this hotel the first week, I might not have been quite so disappointed. It's always difficult to downgrade! So maybe I would have been more positive about it. Don't get me wrong, its not a bad hotel and I probably would come back and stay here if the price was right (I can't remember how it compared to others in terms of price but I know it was a lot cheaper than our first hotel). The main purpose of our stay was because we were getting married at the Cloisters. We planned this via a wedding planner,Rosanna from Orange Blossom Weddings based in Sorrento. This woman was amazing - very efficient, incredibly responsive to emails and questions, and highly organised. The wedding went without a hitch (excuse the pun) and she even managed to work miracles with the weather for us - we had a thunderstorm that morning and it stopped and came good an hour before the wedding and stayed warm and dry for the majority of the day! Rosanna also planned and organised our 'reception' for 6 people at the Foreigners Club. Food was great and venue had superb views. The photographer came as part of the wedding package and the quality of photos was amazing - we received them 3 days after the wedding on a memory stick. We took them to a friend who is a photographer when we got home to have them printed etc. He commented that they were the second best format that you could get photos in - large exposure etc. They only way they could have been better is if they had been raw files. So thank you Luigi of Fotografare Luigi Soldatini. The whole wedding package was incredibly good value for money and I certainly highly recommend Rosanna and Orange Blossom Weddings.

We attended a wedding celebration and found this to be the perfect place for such an occasion. With beautiful views and a prime location to watch the sunset. A very romantic location and an ideal place for a celebration.

My wife and I stayed here at the end of May 2019 for 5 nights (on our honeymoon!), and if you take nothing else away from this review, then know that it's a wonderful place and you'll have a great stay, although there are some caveats to that! I read through some of the reviews before I booked this and to be fair, many of the less positive comments were broadly in line with my opinion. Some were not though and like many things, something being "good" or "bad" can be subjective. Access to the hotel is indeed through a narrow street; you won't get anything larger than a saloon car down there and that's with mirrors folded in. We checked in very late (23:00) but were greeted warmly and with a smile; the staff here speak excellent English which is just as well, as I can't speak a word of Italian. Here's where I mention the first plus point - service. Nothing was too much trouble, and the Prosecco and chocolates left in our room (organised by new mother-in-law from England) were the best. Room service is not really a thing here, but they were happy to bring water up to us when requested. Service was friendly and warm without being formal or pompous. Drinks are served with little tapas-style bites too which is a lovely touch. We also got the hotel to organise our trips for us - these were small group / private tours, and speaking to other guests on these tours we did pay it seems a little less than the "going rate". Be aware that you may be asked to pay in full in cash for the trips they book you (and you will also need to pay the city tax in cash on checkout). As far as the room itself went, it was very clean, bathroom was large and decorated really nicely. There is a mini-bar (which was not replenished automatically) and a teeny television which picks up one or two UK channels. The bed is, as others have noted, quite hard. Not a problem for me - if you don't like a mattress on the harder side then that's something to consider. The lack of tea and coffee making facilities was also quite sad - I think they say this is for "health and safety" reasons. That said, you'll find coffee and pastries in reception until the evening (free to take). I suppose the biggest negative as far as the room went was the noise. We were on a middle floor with a sea \ Vesuvius view and, sadly, the hotel faces both a purpose-built venue and a busy street. There was a wedding when we were staying, and regular bin collections at around 0500-0600, all of which meant my wife didn't sleep too well. Added to this the curtains are more like voiles and the mechanical screen lets light in, and by 0630 that room was light and noisy. I certainly don't begrudge people getting married at the venue opposite, and bins have to be emptied - all of which the hotel has absolutely no control over. What it COULD control perhaps is the sound and light proofing. So that's something else to bear in mind; the view was stunning, we enjoyed the balcony, but the early starts were tough going. If you are a light sleeper like my wife, you may not have a great night. Of course what this place does have going for it is location. It is no more than 5-10 minutes walk from the heart of Sorrento and the Marina Grande. There's a rooftop bar too (hours when we stayed were between 16:00-20:00) which is lovely, although drinks here are priced higher than they are in the downstairs bar (and they don't like you taking your own drinks up there!). Eating your own food in your room wasn't mentioned to us as a problem - we bought crepes back one night and munched them on the balcony - although bringing your own food and drink from outside and eating \ drinking in the public areas is a no-no. In fact, there is a supermarket about 5 minutes walk from the hotel; we shoved our own drinks in the in-room fridge when we saw it wasn't being replenished. Not that bar prices are outrageous - they certainly are reasonable all things considered. Breakfast was superb and is quite Italian in style (think cakes, sweet treats and so on). There is also cereal, a very small cooked selection and Prosecco for you to enjoy!! Views from the restaurant are wonderful - this is one thing I disagree with some of the other reviews on. I thought breakfast was great, but if you want a "Full English" you are going to be bitterly disappointed. Still, the coffee is good and they serve Twinings tea, and if you cannot live without a massive fry up then try the English Inn not 5 minutes walk away. I believe the hotel also serve light lunches; my wife had a sandwich and it was fine; there are better cheap eats 5 minutes walk away in my opinion. I guess whether or not I would recommend this hotel comes mainly down to price. You can stay right the other side of Sorrento for half the price, or you can stay 30 seconds away from this hotel for double. The kicker for me was the noise; it's not just road noise either (I heard someone chucking up in their toilet after a big night in the hotel's Orange Bar so the walls are pretty thin). If you want to stay right in the heart of Sorrento but don't fancy paying 5* prices, this place is probably for you. If you're expecting a big, sumptuous room then forget it - you're paying for location and service. If that's enough to get you booking then go for it. In spite of the sleep and noise issues, we had a wonderful stay, and if you are happy to accept you will be in a room that's more 3* than 4* and bring a blindfold / earplugs, you'll have a wonderful stay.

Hotel is nice but only very small vehicles allowed close enough to transport luggage. Not a big deal but not very accommodating to seniors. When I asked about turning AC on was told not until June so room was a little stuffy. Oh and bye the way if your lucky enough to get a balcony it is extremely noisy so No sleeping in! Be ready to rise and shine to the constant sound of cars and scooters zooming bye. Beautiful rooftop bar but closes at night..too bad. Overall a decent hotel with amazing views in a picture perfect environment!

We stayed here from the 27th April till the 4th may. Found the hotel to be very clean and comfortable and tucked nicely out of the main square but within a 5 minute walk. Lovely views looking out over the sea to mount vesuvius. Breakfast was basic but good. Breads ham and cheese with lots of sweet treats like cakes donut rings etc. Very filling after only a small plateful. Hotel staff were very friendly and speck good English. All in all a very pleasant stay. Would definitely recommend this to stay. 5 minute walk from the main square, perfect location.

We had early evening drinks at the hotel roof terrace ( we were not staying in the hotel). There is a happy hour from 5-6 pm. The terrace has great views over the town and drinks come with peanuts, crisps and some tiny sandwich bites. Highly recommended!
