We spent a week here 28/8-4/9 after reading some of the negative reviews I was a little worried! I didn't need to be ! From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and helpful showing us personally to our accommodation not handing out a map and leaving you to it like most places! Our chalet (number 5) was clean and had everything that we needed . Yes they are basic but I knew that when I booked . The air con and wifi were brilliant and free! The wifi was that good that my teenagers still managed to watch netflix😊 The chalets are surrounded by lemon and olive trees all the grounds are well kept and clean . Yes there are lizards ants and mozzies around but every hot country I've been to has them it's beyond the owners control and the chalets were not crawling with them as stated in other reviews! The pool was outstanding yes you have to wear the cotton swimming hats no they ain't a good look but everyone wears them so your not alone . The bar and restaurant again friendly helpful staff good value prices . There isn't a shop on the site but over the road there are 2 shops that sell everything needed and again I found it cheap. Costa alta do a free shuttle bus to the beach as and when you want to go driver was lovely and always picked us up on time for us to return. All in all it's a lovely place away from the hustle and bustle of sorrento we enjoyed a very relaxed break and will be returning in the future . I read in previous reviews that people found the language barrier a problem . We didn't . Most of the staff speak little English and I don't speak Italian apart from hello good bye thank you etc but we didn't have a problem getting by.

I read some of the reviews on here before we went and to be honest I think some people must have been to a different resort!! There were 7 in our party 5 adults and 2 kids aged 14 & 7 and we all loved it. We had 2 chalets (both different styles) They were clean and there was plenty of room. Yes there were ants and lizards about as you would expect in a hot country and it was very hot. We found that by leaving the AC on (which was free along with the WiFi and TV) the ants stayed out of the bedrooms. The cleaners came round every day and would have supplied clean linen and towels if we wanted . All the staff were pleasant and very helpful. We asked about the bus to the beach and we were taken by one of the staff straight away and picked up later at a time to suit us, and when we got to the beach we had a discount on the loungers and brollies because we were staying at the Costa Alta. The gardens and all surroundings were being tidied and cleaned every day and the pool was beautiful. There was a table an chairs outside every where you could sit an relax in the sunshine. The kitchen has everything required if you wanted to cook a meal ( remember in Italy they cook pasta not meat and two veg) so no there is no toaster, microwave or kettle. But there was 2 large saucepans, a frying pan and a traditional coffee pot. But who wants to cook on holiday anyway the resort do a continental breakfast buffet each morning and a traditional meal each night, they would also make you a sandwich on request, plus there are plenty of places in walking distance to get a lovely meal. I would recommend this resort to anyone who wants to have a lovely holiday in a beautiful area of Italy. If you want fry ups and English food I suggest you go somewhere like Benidorm!!!!

We stayed in one of the 2 sleeper bungalows which was basically a glorified shed and could definitely do with some tlc. It was cramped for 2 and a bit gloomy. Don't plan on cooking as I don't know how it would be possible in the space provided. You do get a hob and wee sink and some glasses plates and cutlery so it was fine for preparing a basic breakfast. Having a fridge was nice. There is no kettle but we knew this having looked at other reviews and took our own. The resort is a fair walk away from the train station (about 15 minutes). And about the same to get down to the harbour area (there is a lift that takes you down). Onto positives: lovely to have the air conditioning unit in the accommodation and there was no extra charges for it. Wifi was also available and that was also free to use. Shower was good and the accommodation was clean enough and serviced daily and we weren't bothered at all by any insects. We weren't too sure about extra charges as the info online is a bit confused. The only thing we were charged for at the end of our stay was the local tax (1 euro per person, per day) so that was fine. the pool area was very clean and the water was crystal clear. I wasn't keen on the shower cap things you have to wear in the pool (not a good look) and they were 3 euros each. I understand why they want them worn, but they just fall off in the water anyway, so I don't know how much they help in keeping the pool filters clean etc. The staff were all lovely, friendly and helpful. There is a wee bar and the drink was cheap. We never had an evening meal but we had sandwiches at lunchtime which were huge and tasty and very reasonably priced. The breakfast was coffee, croissants, fruit juice and a nice pear cake thing. Basic but you could help yourself to as much as you wanted and it was only 5 euros each. The chef was there and he did say that if we wanted anything at all, just to ask. It was a relaxed, friendly environment. They run a shuttle bus to meta beach every hour except between 2 and 4. We went to ask about it and he just said "do you want to go now?" And he took us there and then and he asked us when we wanted picked up again and he came back for us exactly when he said he would. We chose Costa Alta simply for the low price compared to other accommodation in the sorrento area. And although the actual accommodation was a bit of a let down, the resort and staff made up for it and we thought it was good value for money. The harbour area in piano had some lovely restaurants and we ate better here than in Sorrento (food and drink was much cheaper too) it's a lovely wee place and everyone we met were friendly and helpful. If you ask for directions for instance be prepared to have a lot of people involved in getting your answer 😊 . I should say taxis aren't cheap and we didn't use them because I thought the prices were a bit ridiculous. 20 euros just to get up to the main part of Piano and about 50 from Sorrento. We never used the buses. We got about on the train which was cheap and regular. It's just a shame that they don't run later at night. The last train back from Sorrento is 9.37 at night so we felt rushed into getting back to Piano as we didn't fancy paying the taxi prices. So, overall, as long as you don't mind walking (the roads are a bit mad so I wouldn't recommend a hire car), and you are not planning on being in the accommodation much, a good, affordable location, safe (except mind yourself crossing the roads) and happy atmosphere. We have left Piano with positive and happy memories 👍

So I had an inkling the accommodation wouldnt be amazing, not for the low price paid, but besides a substandard quality mobile home (we booked a bungalow), poorly cleaned, sharing the room with a family of ants and not enough room to swing a cat there were a few more problems. Number 1 the language barrier. There were just 2 staff on site who spoke a small amount of english. Although I know the odd bit of Italian this made the 10 days very strained. It felt like this is more of a resort for italians, there were literally 2 english families while we were there. It just made us feel a bit out of place and uncomfortable. Personally I would have liked to understand this before booking. Secondly the pool. Everyone has to wear swim hats (ha ha) which can be bought from the bar for €3, which was a slight annoyance but what was more annoying is the pool shutting from 1-4pm everyday. It was hard to explain to my small children who just wanted to play in the pool they had to leave. The pool and restaurant staff I also found to be quite rude. On the plus side though location is great if you want to do sorrento, pompeii, capri, amalfi, positana etc. Train is literally 10 min walk which gets you about cheaply. There is a free shuttle bus from the resort that takes you to sorrento and meta. There is a lovely friendly beach 10 min away - but be prepared to pay for entry, beds, umbrellas and showers. It cost us €38 for 4 of us. Local restaurants were lovely, great food and great value. English speaking lady on reception and shuttle bus driver were super helpful. On the whole we had a great stay but it was just a shame we felt so uncomfortable at costa alta.

We were so disappointed with our stay here, very poor bungalows, it wasgoing back ever to costa alto dirty and smelly, Bedlinen wasnt clean and there was lots of ants, Shower was dirty, there was no cooking facilities, no kettle, no fryin pan or other utensils,i dont think I would have cooked as overall bungalow wasnt clean we were so disappointed as sorrento is a beautiful place, we wont be going back to village costa alto

My daughter has just returned from a group school trip to Sorrento. In summary this hotel was dirty, infested by ants, run down, badly furnished, poor food, dirty bathroom, grubby linen and insects infesting most rooms. She came home covered in bites, and it got infected. The advert is clearly a misrepresentation of how the hotel is in real life. Pay heed to bad reviews as they are very accurate.

If you wanna explore the Sorrento area, the Amalfi coast, Napoli and Capri..this is a perfect location. The campingsite is basic but more than enough if you're out during the day. The swimming pool is big, the bungalows are clean, the airco is fine and you can have lunch at restaurant near the pool. The staff is very friendly. Again, if you wanna explore the area around Sorrento and Amalfi its perfect! If you're going to spend a lot of time at The campingsite itself it could become boring!

The premises smell terrible and for the price I might aswell of booked a nice hotel as it is over an hours walk to the main square of sorrento and costs about €25 in a taxi to get there the bungalows the self were all over the place, there was a wardrobe beside the cooker and the sink which was just completely odd

Pros. Staff are very kind and helpful Great location Cons. Could improve the breakfast by including some cooked breakfast. Toilets/bathrooms in the rooms need major renovations. I surely didn't feel comfortable at all using them.

My partner and I stayed here for a week. As we had come for a wedding in Sorrento, we wanted to save as much of our budget as possible for meals out and enjoying ourselves. We thought from the photos of the place that this would be ok for a livable place for seven days.. It was appalling! Our room was invested with spiders and ants. The kitchen area and bathroom was filthy. The air con bearly worked and they even switched it off one night saying we had used it too much!! The mattress was springy and uncomfortable. There was so much noise every night (we hardly got any sleep). They don't tell you until you get there about needing to wear stupid caps in the pool and then make you pay €3 each for them! They make you pay for absolutely everything including WiFi (€3 for 1 day!) And tax (€1 per person per day) And to top it all off, we asked reception about the bus to naples airport and they gave us the time of the last bus on the day we needed to leave to make sure we didn't miss it...we got to the stop early to find out that the last one had gone hours before and the receptionist just gave us a random time and we then had to pay a fortune for a taxi. Absolutely awful.
