We stayed at this hotel May 2017 for 10 days all inclusive - we had an upgrade to one of the suites which was well worth the little extra paid. The food was excellent throughout our stay. The staff at the hotel made this stay.
We visited as a couple in July for a weeks holiday. Upon arrival we were very impressed by the hotel, just as described in the brochure, slightly olde worlde but just as expected. Very nice change from all the chrome and glass that you normally get nowadays. Our room was overlooking the pool area with a balcony. Superb views of the sea and mountains across Naples Bay. The room was very clean and very comfortable. The food was excellent, especially the evening meals which were a la carte with waiter service, generous with the wines too. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and have nothing but praise for the hotel. The only issue really was the location, being quite a way from the town and up quite a steep hill.
Stayed at the hotel in oct 2017 shopped around for best deal jet2 £370 cheaper than thomson all in , ill start with the good stuff first as you walk in the foyer its opulent grand the staff are friendly the service is excellent all inclusive good breakfast best bacon Ive had abroad plenty of it fried eggs omelette ,pancakes done in restaurant to order and plenty of other food, at 1000 go to bar near pool & drink as much as you want also lunch toasted sandwiches etc brilliant value for your money, the rooms allocated to us are at the back of hotel which for the price i didn't expect sea view ,we where lucky we had a view of mountains ,the room dividing wall was very thin we could hear next door TALKING so not really happy they were very quite people, dinner food good but very small portions, theirs a food buffet with salad cakes etc but id sooner have bigger portions, as much wine beer as you like , to my flies buzzing around the buffet, at breakfast they bring flasks of water to brew your tea coffee it s not hot enough for tea we took a kettle with us, the stairs in back corridors were marked with food &wine stains just needed cleaning , if your going to places of interest Naples etc the train is far cheaper ,station 10 mins walk sorrento center 45 mins walk narrow paths, and lastly would i go again yes good for the money
My wife and I stayed in this hotel and on arriving the hotel was fabulous. Beautiful foyer, staff very smart and polite. The room was lovely and the meals were excellent. The courtesy bus was great every hour into Sorrento, then a short walk into the centre. The hotel is quite out of the way and we found it a bit dangerous walking around the hotel. The pavement is virtually nonexistent and the traffic is manic, but that is Italy for you. All in all I recommend this hotel.
This is a lovely hotel and the staff are brilliant. However, again as has been noted here on several occasions, we were bumped from our booked suite, with Jet2, for half of our holiday. We were offered a couple of trips free from Jet2 and a bottle of prosecco and a massage from the hotel - huh - what use is a bottle of prosecco in an All Inclusive hotel, the spa is there and the trips are going anyway. None of these items cost the hotel or Jet2 anything. I don't consider these to be recompense for the disappointment to our holiday. After 2 complaints to Jet2, they have given us no more back than what they say is the difference in money - £133. I find this hard to believe that that is all that the difference is from a suite to a room for 6 nights. This was our first time with Jet2 and I have told them that we do not intend to travel with them again. They don't seem to be bothered that they lose future custom (even when it was compared to Ryanair). We normally do our own arrangements for holidays but this seemed a good deal when we booked it. We have returned to making our own arrangements again. I asked Jet2 twice what they were doing to fix this systemic issue with this hotel and if they can guarantee that it will not happen again in the future. I did not get a reply to these questions. So nobody will guarantee that this will not repeat itself next year. If everything had gone as planned it would have been a fabulous holiday. There are a few minor points of improvement e.g. there is no food available from 10am until 12.30pm, when lunch is served. There isn't even anywhere to buy any food due to the location of the hotel. If you miss breakfast you are stuck. Once lunch starts, there is no longer than 1.5hrs until afternoon tea is served. In the evening, if you fancy a change, there's a lovely bar around the corner, L'Archetto (The Bow) that serves gorgeous pizza for a max of €5.50 and wine at €6/bottle. Also, Sant' Agnello is just a 5 min walk away. Sorrento is expensive but Sant' Agnello is really cheap in the bars.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel, but there is plenty of room for improvement .Our room had a great view of Sorrento Bay and Mt Vesuvius, however some of the floor tiles were cracked, some of the furniture was showing its age and the shower was very tempermental. The view from the balcony as I said was fantastic, but it was a small balcony that can only just about fit a small table and chairs on.The room cleaning service was excellent and these under appreciated workers did a brilliant job day in day out. The reception area of the hotel was very grand, but overall the hotel as a whole is now showing its age and is in need of a major makeover. The staff were very friendly and willing to help. Shame I could not say the same about the Thomson rep who was not there when he was supposed to be, didn't respond to our e-mails, or complaints about one of our trips where the return transport did a know show, but that is not the hotels fault. In this respect, there shuttle bus service into Sorrento was excellent with a good timetable and was also punctual. We stayed on an all inclusive basis, and the food was ok, but nothing to write home about with a very limited range of food available on the evening menu. Once again there is plenty of room for improvement and was not a great showcase for Italian cuisine, shame really. The hotel in parts also overlooked some rather derelict and dillapidated buildings as was pointed out by everyone who stayed in the junior suites, their view was less than appealing resembling something like the Aleppo district in Syria. Overall, I would say the hotel is average with the scope for being excellent with new chefs and refurbishment, plus a screen accross the neighbouring run down properties. I am now asking myself whether this hotel was good value for money?? As I am struggling to say yes or no, that means it is just like the hotel itself - average - value for money!!
Highly recommend this hotel, staff could not do enough. All inclusive for a week, and wished I’d stayed for another week. Room was adequate and cleaned daily. Pool was nice and clean, not deep but enough to cool off. Definitely would stay again.
Generous sized rooms, well equipped, nice location. The hotel is a little dated but fine although the pool area would benefit from daily cleaning. Excellent food, great choice, friendly, helpful staff. A quiet hotel, a little out of town but with a free shuttle bus into town. I would recommend.
The hotel is a little dated however it was very clean in all areas. Room service and clean towels every day. The food in the evening was really good. ALL the staff were amazing nothing was too much trouble. The view from the swimming pool (which is on the roof) is breathtaking. This is an adult only hotel which could be an advantage if your not keen on children running around when you are eating or enjoying a drink. It is a way from the center of Sorrento but because there is a shuttle bus this isn't too much of a problem. The walk isn't impossible and good exercise. Would I go back this hotel or recommended yes definitely.
Lovely hotel, great food, great staff, nothing was ever “too much bother” Different Dinner each evening, served to you table. Plenty of choice, omelette each morning All inclusive, all drinks, not just “local” wines and spirits, Peroni on tap. Would highly recommend this hotel *****
