We were very pleased with our stay here. We had a first floor studio unit that overlooked the pool area and it was a great location, convenient to the resort’s attached restaurant, ski lockers and a very short walk out the back gate to the Village area. The unit was very clean with plenty of clean linens and towels. We had room service once during our week stay, which was plenty to get our trash emptied and used towels changed out. The resort’s lobby and great room are an excellent place to take a drink and relax by the fireplace. Highly recommend this resort for your next visit to Snowshoe Mountain.
This was our second stay at Allegheny Springs. You simply cannot beat the location. We booked a 1 bedroom plus unit directly with Snowshoe (Jade is a rockstar. Very helpful, professional, knowledgeable, and friendly). This is perfect for our family of 4 because the bedroom has 2 queen beds and we do not have to utilize the sofa bed for our boys. There is 1 bathroom a living room and a full kitchen. Furnishings are good enough. Not plush. Not shabby. The good: location is convenient to skiing and the village. My kids love the outdoor pool and my husband and I love the hot tub. Check in is in the lobby not at a satellite location. They let us check in early and check out late at no charge. Lockers for gear in the basement. Friendly staff. CLEAN. Nice towels. Good water pressure in the showers. Plenty of towels- I think they left 12 for us. Beautiful view. The bad: Our thermostat was broken. The family room temp was comfortable but we were roasted while trying to sleep in the bedroom. Thermostat was set to 70, but read 78-80 degree. We had to open windows. At night the groomers have loud beeping when in reverse, which seemed to go off and on all night long. We even had a sound machine and closed windows but could not drown it out. All 4 of us are Heavy sleepers and it disturbed everyone numerous times. The kitchen was not stocked very well. Good on plates, glassware, silverware but extremely limited cookware. The fridge froze and ruined some of our groceries which really stinks because you can’t just run to a store to replenish. Overall, we really like Allegheny Springs and I’m sure we will stay there again. Our next trip we have Loggers Run booked.
We have stayed at Snowshoe several times and decided to try Allegheny Springs this visit thinking it was a better resort since it was part of the Brigham Collection. Big Mistake! The bed was SO uncomfortable that it was like sleeping on the floor. The coffee pot was nasty and there was mold in the teapot. The plug to the tub was broken as well as the door handle to the bathroom and there were no luggage carts available on checkout so we ended up making 3 trips to the fourth floor to pack all of our things down. We passed several employees on the way out standing around but no one even attempted to offer help. There’s also a spa in the basement of the hotel but no door to get into the spa from inside the hotel. If you have an appointment there you have to walk outside to get to it. They can let you back into the hotel once you are in the spa, so I’m not sure why they don’t make it a full access door to get into the spa from the hotel side. It is a beautiful hotel outside and in the lobby, but I wouldn’t waste the extra money to stay again.
The good: -Location location location -Check in process at lobby -Slopes out of the door -Stores and restaurants all around -Gas fireplace -Staff The so so: -Park far or pay for Valet -Studio room small for 4 people (2 kids) The not so good: -No bedding for the sofa bed - no extra pillows -Toilet tinny (haha) -Darn static electricity shocks everywhere with shaggy carpet -No room service
Our room was wonderful and we would definitely request it if we went again. There is no daily housekeeping service (stays of 4 or more days get service mid-stay) but do you really need service every day?
Cannot beat the location. You are in middle of the village. Steps from the slopes. Number one advantage check with no hassle or confusion. Allegheny Springs has a lobby and staff. First time travelers will definitely appreciate the informative folks at the front desk.
What an amazing place!! We spent 4 days at snowshoe in the allegheny springs resort! What a wonderful experience! The staff and service was out of this world. Highly recommend this resort and mountain to who ever wants to spend an amazing time in the snow with a family oriented environment!
Went during the fall season and mountain bikes were everywhere even on the walks and steps.. No bike trails, I guess. The room had an alarm clock without a plug so it didnt work. Got it replaced the next afternoon. The blanket had several quarter size holes in it along with some brown splatters on it. Half the shops and restaurants were closed for the season. Food was a little pricey but the drinks were way over priced and of course prices were not on the menu. Also you have to pay to park at this resort! The staff was really great and accommodating.
We were at Snowshoe for the "Treasure on the Mountain" event. Enjoyed every minute of our stay and all of our adventures that weekend. If you have time we recommend the RZR Ace tours (single seat ATVs). The team that take you on the tour are fantastic!
Went for a fundraiser event & hiking weekend. At check in we noticed a sign with per night charges $22 for having trash empties & clean towels/washcloths & about $50 for beds made, etc. Rooms have 1 towel & washcloth per person per day, yes, if you want extra, you pay the fee. This is a resort for outdoor activities-hiking, mountain biking, boating, etc. Most people want to wash more than 1x a day. We'd never heard of any lodging with this policy. Quiet time begins at 10 pm-it is not enforced. We were on pool side & people were out making a lot of noise till 11:30pm. Worst of all, my roommate cut her foot on carpet tacks under a torn piece of carpet. We were told the room owner was told to fix it but obviously had not. The room should not have been rented.
