Stayed here for a week with my mum half board. Gorgeous Skiathos, first time ive been. Easy to catch buses j to town. 2 euros each way. Hotel itself is clean, maid everyday, nice pool, plenty of sunbed, food good choice and waiters always on hand. AMAZING Maratha beach just below hotel highly recommend. Xannot fault this hotel. Will def come back again !!! Book it with confidence x
The hotel is situated in a truly prime position, the view looking down and beyond Koukounaries beach is breathtaking. Access to the beach is easy on steep steped footpaths but the return could be difficult for those not so fit. However this is not a problem as there is a free hotel bus which will deliver and collect on set time frames. Entrance into the hotel itself could be improved upon but it is spacious inside and plenty of room to spread out. Checking in was quickly satisfied by very polite and proffesional staff. Luggage was handled quickly and delivered promptly. Our own room(157) was somewhat a long distance from Reception, probably the furthest, a cycle, scooter or skateboard would have probably helped! However no complaints, the room was spacious with balcony overlooking the hotels own Maratha beach. However the main critisism which definately needs sorting is that the two singlebeds are protected by a mattress cover, fine we understand that but the make up of the cover bears resemblance to sleeping on a deflated lilo, just awful. Not Good. We took them off after a couple of nights in order to sleep comfortably. The staff we had contact with were absolutely fantastic, all polite, obliging, a really happy bunch of people. our cleaner was a lovely young lady and kept our room spotless The food we had in the hotel was very good, the food served upstairs in the outdoor restaurant was extremely good and the views were magnificent. Breakfast food was adequate and well cooked but lacked the imagination of some other 4/5 star hotels we have stayed at.The quality of the cereals offered were bland and lacked variety. Overall a great holiday in a very good hotel, not 5 star but certainly 4. We would come back tomorrow to be with all those we had fun with and met.
This was our second stay after a lot of deliberating as there are a lot of great elements but also some downsides to choosing this hotel. Overall I would definitely recommend staying here as it can all be relative to what you have experienced elsewhere and what level of expectation you have. Location: + stunning vista, 2 beaches, tavernas, bus stop, quiet - up a very steep drive/steps, unsafe to walk to next areas on the road Hotel: + beautiful grounds, terrace, pool, artwork, communal areas & facilities - jarring styles in reception - nasty plastic sofa an stools, weak Wi-Fi, no atmosphere in the evenings with a lot of space going to waste Rooms: + (Executive room) fantastic views from highest floors, comfortable beds, good toiletries, large TV, cleaned twice a day, storage, info books - shabby paint, grout, smelly air con unit - our complaint was met with disbelief which is unacceptable so we needed to be very forceful for action/information Staff: + Friendly & chatty overall - More professional attitude to complaints and following up We will probably go back but only to the best rooms to enjoy our stay the most.
My friends and I spent eight days at your hotel from August 21st. From the moment we arrived at the front desk we were warmly greeted by your reception staff in particular by Eleni, she has a natural and welcoming smile and attitude and demonstrates patience in answering any questions and providing information whether it be about the hotel or recommendations about the island. We were also impressed by Katarina who demonstrated the same qualities, and the rest of the team who also had a lovely and personable attitude at all times. We have already recommended the hotel to friends, and if our travels bring us back to your wonderful island we would return because of the staff.(the waiters in the main restaurant were also pleasant and accommodating at all times) Both Eleni and Katarina are a credit to your hotel and they are amongst the best hotel staff we have ever come across in travelling around the world. With all our best wishes
Room was very dirty (specially bathroom) -stains on the walls, towels with holes...Not what you expect from 4* hotel. We had to speak with the manager twice before they cleaned it again. Nice view from the pool area, food is also nice, many choices at buffet.
Upon arrival at the hotel we received a warm welcome, check in was efficient and our cases were taken to our room. We had upgraded to the Exec room where you have a large private terrace with sunbeds overlooking the bay. Views from the pool area and around the hotel are beautiful. Service in all areas was friendly and efficient. We opted for bed and breakfast, there is a great choice for breakfast and the food was good. We did eat in the self service restaurant where the half board guests eat, food I felt was below par and based on other hotels I would say the food could be improved. By comparison the white view restaurant above the pool, was fabulous, the food was wonderful and service was very attentive. Around the pool area there are loads of sunbeds, chairs etc to relax in the sun or shade. We went to nearby Maratha beach, which is beautiful, quickest way to get to it is via hotel 1st floor, exit by room 138, down steps, cross the road bearing left and down around 30 steps, so tranquil. Evenings there is a limited shuttle bus down to the town which is great. To return you can get the local bus €2 pp which runs every 15 mins in high season ( bus stop 1 near new town harbour is best to get ( if you want a seat), they run til around midnight and takes 20-25 mins, taxis will cost around €25. All in all a great hotel and we will definitely return.
If you want to relax and enjoy fantastic views, pool and lounge around this is it. The rooms are nicely refurbished. As pictures shown. The staff are wonderful and always ready to help. Thanks Onassis in the restaurant and Alex and all in the bar area. They made our holiday, we went half board the food was plentiful and good choices, even for us veggies. The pool area has nice thick bed loungers, plenty of these. The only thing missing was evening entertainment. It is a way from Skiathos town but there is a curtesy bus and busses which are cheap. taxi is 17 Euro. Due to the economic situation the prices all around the island are expensive most drinks in and out the hotel start at 5 euro. Bottles even in the supermarket are much more than uk prices. Wine is very good but still twice the price of ours. We suggest at least half board at this hotel. A bottle of wine at the table is 12 Euro. Overall the hotel is very clean tidy and staff brill. Special praise for the reception staff, who always will help you. Thanks for a great holiday.
We have just come back from the skiathos palace hotel the pool area was great the staff in the resturaunt are ok the reception staff were great the bar staff were ok maybe as its the end of the season?? the rooms are a bit tired and in need of updating the location is on a steep hill but they do lay on a beach bus from 11am untill 6pm you are a bus ride from skiathos town at 2 euros each way or you can get the water taxi for 5 euros each way unroll about 5pm I would rate the hotel as a 3 star as the food is repetitive and the rooms need an update but overall we had a great time.
Advertised as 5 star, but that is too high. It is a very respectable 4-star property. The mountain and sea views from the rooms are spectacular. The meals on the roof are wonderful. Buffets are expansive. Several floors but no elevator! Bus into town only 2 Euros. Free shuttle to beach and to local market. Private transfer to /from A/P is expensive (40 Euros round trip) but maybe worth the privacy and convenience. No king sized beds.
Stayed here for a week in September 2017 and was amazed by the fantastic views of Koukounaries beach and Skopelos. All staff are extremely friendly - including cleaners who came around twice a day, first to clean in morning then at tea time to prepare beds for sleeping. Food was great however quite expensive for dinner and lunch. Drinks are reasonably priced. Had a fantastic massage which was great value at only 25 euro for 30 minutes. Extremely easy to travel around the island using the bus, bus stop number 4 is located directly outside hotel and only costs 2 euro to get into Skiathos Town, the buses run every 15 minutes. Can't recommend this hotel enough, will definitely be re-visiting in 2019.
