We love this historic hotel. It is always clean and tidy and the staff members are always so friendly and helpful. It's a great place to stay to be close to the harbor and downtown Sitka.

Old hotel with lots of character. Great location! Nice sized room. Informative staff! Easy elevator to get big suitcases in and out. Fun community to walk around. Their Italian restaurant is the Best. Breakfast down the street 3 doors is great, check out the “Mean Queen”. Would stay again!!

Old hotel trying to do its best… Kitchen: Poorly equipped kitchen (ie. one small steak knife to cut everything, plastic old plates, haphazard pots and pans) The bedding was very old polyester and the duvet had no cover. However the Staff was friendly and made an excellent effort to supply clean towels and whatever we needed!

The kitchen had almost everything I needed including a tiny dishwasher. The few items that were missing were quickly replaced when I asked at the desk. The room had a lot of space and we didn’t hear other people thru the walls. Staff are all helpful and friendly. The beds are also remarkably comfortable and I typically do not sleep well in hotel beds.

This hotel is adequate but very dated. Our shower was out of shampoo, another room out of body wash. We had to keep requesting the staff refill the coffee in the lobby. We were only there for one night so our interaction with staff was very limited. Perhaps when they see people more they are more accommodating? I wouldn’t say don’t stay there, but I will say only expect the necessities.

There was basically no breakfast tho it was advertised as offering breakfast. There were some things available - very limited and you had to pay for them. The rooms were clean but extremely small for the price. The staff was very helpful. The TV in the lobby was set to Trump giving a speech, which is their right and, perhaps we should all sit and watch our president when he speaks publicly, but given the current divided country, probably made some people very uncomfortable. Good location in Sitka, close to the cruise lines’ meeting area. Good museums in Sitka.

We’ve used more than one room during our stay. My favorite stove top is actually a convection hot plate. It was easy to use and heated up fast. The shower in the second room (2 queen beds and a fold out/couch) has a stone floor and tile walls. It also has one of those square “rain” showers. The desk staff are all very pleasant people. My only complaint is the cleaning people could be more thorough. They cut corners to get out of the rooms fast and it shows. (I found items left behind by previous occupants)
