Stayed at hotel for few nights when visiting Sitges. On positive side the roof terrace and pool is lovely, rooms with sea view are great and the location is good! The rooms however are tired with wall paper peeling from walls and need work doing to them.
This hotel is a perfect location, facing the stunning, clean beach, the reception area is very modern and clean and staff were very helpful and polite, my room wasn’t as upto date compared to the reception area but still very clean, big room, huge bed, big bathroom with a bath and shower, lots of toiletries provided which was great for me as I forgot my own toothbrush!!! The shower was powerful and hot, the view from the room wasn’t great, we faced a block Of apartments, no sun on the balcony or anything nice to look at, as it was my honeymoon I did ask for a sea view room but was told that was at a extra charge, they did however give us a bottle of champagne. There is a roof terrace with a pool which was really nice, we had it to ourself for the afternoon, nice relaxing music played, just no bar up there, but the pool was a decent size and clean. We didn’t go for the breakfast option so not sure what the food was like, I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t a kettle in the room....especially when they do offer a self catch room. We would definitely return to Sitges but would only use this hotel if we had a sea view room, not sure there was much point paying for a hotel on the beach when you couldn’t actually see the beach unless you went out of the hotel. But overall lovely hotel. Lovely staff thank you for our stay
Staff were welcoming and helpful. Room was very large and excellent quality linen and towels. Lots of toiletries, even shaving kit, toothbrushes and paste. Nice to have a rooftop pool and loungers. Hotel situation is convenient for the beach, bars and shopping.
Very clean, modern and accommodating. Located close to everything. Eight minute walk from train station. Sitges is far enough away from Barcelona to not feel like a suburb, but just a 30 or so minute from the city. My wife and I will stay here again.
I recommend this hotel due to the location - it can’t be beat in Sitges for location across from beach and access to restaurants / grocery / town centre. I think new owners inherited some issues they are working through. On our 4 day stay we had to have reception reprogram our room access cards 14 times (almost every time we left and came back to hotel, and it was not an issue with having beside mobile phone). Front desk staff were very apologetic and by the end was rather humorous they knew what we needed done when approaching desk. I understand technology doesn’t work all the time and I’m sure they are looking into cause. We were dealing with an unrelated issue and the director or manager came from office and introduced himself. All hotel staff were very polite and professional and demonstrated they cared about guest comfort. Internet is sporadic in room 317 (as it was in 2018 when we were here) which was frustrating. Works perfect in room 315. Breakfast selection deteriorated slightly since new ownership but still sufficient unless you are posh. Restaurant / breakfast area was renovated and looks very nice. You can enjoy your breakfast outside. Our room had water stains on ceiling, peeling wallpaper and leaky windows in hallway outside room. My understanding is that will all be addressed with renovations. Hard to fault them on problems they just inherited. *** spend the extra € on a seaside room - moonlit water and sound of waves from room or balcony can’t be beat - plus great for people watching or having lunch on balcony ***
15 years ago I watched whilst they demolished the old buildings but kept their facades and built this hotel. This has been my first stay. I read the reviews, and had doubts, but position, facilities etc. won out. I use a power chair. I warned them at booking. Asked for an adapted bathroom. I also asked for a reserved space in the underground parking. They confirmed adapted bathroom but couldn’t confirm the parking. First come, first served. On arrival there were plenty of car park spaces. Plus points. Lift up to Reception. There I was told they don’t have adapted bathrooms, no showers, no grab rails. But they’d allocated a larger room. Not so good. The room, on floor 4 was great. Small lounge area, big balcony, decent size bedroom. Second balcony. Good bathroom. But I can’t get in and out of a bath without a lift. I believe ownership/management has changed recently. Some renovations are underway. Reception is light, airy and stylish. Our room was classic. Very well executed. But twin beds and marble floor meant beds sliding and an annoying gap appearing. Aircon worked well. Two lifts. Lovely marble floored and wood panelled corridors. The big draw is the roof top sun terrace and pool. The pool needs a little tlc as neither waterfall feature nor the jacuzzi seat were working. It had steps in and out with handrails, so I was able to negotiate. Disability adaptation isn’t just about level access and self opening doors, although they’re a useful starting place, it’s about grab rails, shower seats, non slip floors. And an accessible room can be used by anyone. As they’re renovating I hope they’ll install a couple of accessible walk in/roll in shower rooms.
Myself and my partner have just returned from the hotel where we celebrated our anniversary. We booked very last minute and were hesitant due to the limited availability in Sitges. Kalma was the only option with a roof top pool which we desperately wanted. The hotel certainly didn’t disappoint. The property is located on the beach front and is the prettiest property within its stretch. We were greeted by Alex on arrival who was warm and welcoming and highly attentive. After finding out it was our Anniversary he kindly sent a bottle of Cava and chocolates to add to our celebrations. When looking for a restaurant he kindly recommended two (Bon Estar and Izarra) both recommendations were fantastic! The lobby is stunning and has clearly just been refurbished. The bedrooms are a little shabby but I am assuming these are due to be done. The pool is small but perfectly formed with beautiful views across the sea. We will certainly be returning next year. Thank you Kalma and a big thank you too Alex
Entrance Foyer area was beautiful very modern and relaxing.Bedroom was fine but bathroom needed updating.Staff gave us a very nice welcome and were quick to book us in.Roof terrace pool too small for swimming, however handing out water was a nice gesture.
I struggled between giving this a three and a four star review. I ultimately settled on four because of the location and my upgraded room. The front desk was very helpful and the lobby is fine. I booked a single traveller room for three nights, and, wow, it was a really small interior room. Kind of disappointing. I was able to upgrade for the last two nights to a sea view room. It was much better, larger with a balcony and view of the beach and boardwalk. I didn't check out the pool, but did have breakfast which accomplished the task. Overall my stay was good. The rooms can use some freshening up, but you can't beat the location.
After my last visit to this hotel, and making this booking it's changed hands. The hotel had become a bit tired. The reception area has had a modern makeover along with the breakfast dining area. The rooftop pool area has had some nice new loungers and cushions, but the rooftop bar remains closed. It looks like there are plans to upgrade guest rooms, but none of the ones our party stayed in had changed since last year, although I can't criticise this, because they were all as we expected. I would imagine that they are going to become bright and modern. I had a disagreement with a manager which began as a simple request for access to the roof terrace to be hurried up, for the twenty or so hotel guests who had been queueing for a while in a hot, dark corridor to get outside to get settled before the big fireworks display began. The terrace is one of the best vantage points in town. The view of fireworks from the terrace is the only reason I have booked this hotel year after year. The manager chose to tell me that there were new owners and new rules, meaning that the terrace now closed at 21:00. This was at 22:55 with fireworks beginning at 23:00 on the dot. She told me; 'I have given you the privilege to go out on the terrace...' So I imagine I should be very grateful that the manager of this expensive-to-stay hotel has allowed us the privilege of using a facility for the exact purpose we had used it on so many occasions before. For my 50th birthday, I took five rooms so my friends could enjoy the fireworks on the roof terrace with me. We had a lovely time. The year after, I think there was a party taking four rooms, although I didn't pay for them all that time. This year we were a group with three rooms. Maybe this was a simple clash of personalities, but Isn't it astonishing how the attitude of one person can spoil a hotel experience and a whole evening?
