Stayed here for 3 nights while attending a course nearby. Location wise it is right above the Outram Park MRT station; there is a lift from underground which leads up to the building adjacent to the hotel itself. Quite convenient; there is also a bus stop located a few steps away from the hotel lobby. Upon arrival, the bellboy was helpful and carried my luggage in. However, the staff at the reception desk checked me into a room with two single beds although I requested for one with a king-sized bed. Called the front desk from my room to ask for a change, and they arranged another room for me within half an hour. Here's the catch though, I noticed that the 'king-sized bed' in the new room was actually two single beds pushed together and covered with a king-sized bedsheet! That gave me a very bad impression of the hotel as it felt like they were trying to deceive their guests. Other than that, the room is quite small with hardly any place to move but well-equipped. The gym had a treadmill but it was not functioning and no free weights. Did not try the restaurant but they do have discounts on nearby restaurants, guests just need to show their hotel key card to get the discount. Would be suitable for business travellers or those who do not intend to stay in the hotel much.
We stayed for 2 nights on the way back from a trip to Thailand. We booked a mystery room, was meant to be minimum double, which it was, however that's all it was. The overall dimensions of the room were quite compact. The ensuite was smaller that we had encountered on cruise ships, very snug indeed. Overall the room was very clean, the bed was a tad firm but the pillows were very soft. There was tea/coffee making facilities, but only a creamer for milk. There was a safe. There was an iron and ironing board. There was a hair dryer. There was a smartphone for our use whilst in Singapore. There were ample toiletries for our stay. The location was very good for the cruise ship/ harbour area, one stop away from Vivo shopping centre which connects with the Sentosa Express. The staff were very accommodating, one small grumble....we were still in our room the first morning at 9am and we had a card pushed under the door saying as we were still in our room we had missed the room service for the day, we did go to reception to ask for our room to be made up which they did. On our last day they stored our luggage for us until later in the day when we were ready to go it to go to the airport. An easy trip to the airport as the hotel is conveniently located on the MRT and it was from there ..... one change to get to the airport. Would recommend for convenience, but would make sure we knew what room we were getting next time. Did not feel the breakfast was value for money, we only did that for one of our days.
We stayed at the Dorsett for two nights on our way to Thailand. The room was not large but big enough for the time we spent in it. The bed was very comfortable and both the room and bathroom were very clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. It was only about a minute's walk to the MRT station so very convenient for getting around. One stop away from Vivo City Mall. We found the MRT easy to use.
We enjoyed our stay in Dorsett Hotel. We stayed for 5 days and 4 nights and loved every minute of our time. Here is my review: Rooms Regular sized rooms. Clean. Quiet room and privacy from nearby room. Soft beds and comfortable pillows. Rain shower. They will always replenish the complementary toiletries. They even have a free hotspot phone you can use all over the city. The only concern we have is that the room has 2 sockets available for use. Price Reasonable price comparing it to other hotels and even rentals throughh airbnb Convenience One minute walk towards the closest train station. Five-minute walk to Chinatown where There are a lot of affordable and great restaurants. You can also buy souveneirs at a low price..you can haggle for prices. Staff Friendly, corteous and very helpful. They would even suggest an iterinary for your group.
Spent 3 nights in the Dorsett hotel on a short stay in Singapore. Bed was very comfy and the location is great, being just a short 10 minute walk to the heart of Chinatown. The in room Wifi is one of the best we have ever used and was quite fast. We also got upgraded to a different room which was a nice gesture when checking in. If we are ever in Singapore again we would certainly stay here again. Being directly above and MRT station is very convenient.
Great hotel, staff very helpful especially Rueben .Very quiet and comfortable rooms. Loved every minute, not enough time to do everything .Convenient for MRT and Chinatown. Loved the free use of the Handyphone.
Stayed at Dorsett Singapore for four nights in March. The Hotel was modern and neat, perfect for business travel. I believe this hotel offers great value for money considering the generally high cost of Singapore hotels. FOOD: We did not eat at the hotel. It had a restaurant which looked OK but we preferred eating out. ROOMS: Room was fair sized, neat and clean. It is a non-smoking hotel which I loved. Amenities was standard four stars. POOL: The pool area was great and was great to cool down in. There is no pool service though, so it is for swimming only. LOCATION: Upon booking, I was at first concerned with it being a bit too far away from restaurants but were happy to discover it was about a 10-15min walk from Clarke Quays. It is also located pretty much on top of a metro station so getting around is very convenient. Going to Orchard road took only 10minutes or so. We did not eat at the hotel, so can’t comment on the food. If you like Asian food, there are plenty of local food choices within only a few minutes’ walk from the hotel. Overall: The complimentary phone with internet was a great bonus. The hotel itself is clean and service was friendly and professional. Tip: When going to the airport we at first considered using the metro, however considering trips we took to the EXPO centre which took around 45 minutes we opted for taxi assuming. We were pleasantly surprised – it took only around 15-20 minutes and was approximately $25 SGD.
Stayed 2 nights at this hotel it's ok it has mrt just near the hotel so makes it easy to get around. The rooms are clean and comfortable but the toilet lacks privacy with no door. Good swimming pool nice and warm.
Nice room, great location. Have pictures but cant post it have a family member in it. Wish could stay a little bit longer but only have a week of vacation. It may have been 5 stars if the food is great but dont like the food still a nice place to stay
The best feature of this hotel is that it sits above the Outram Park MRT station. This provides easy access to anywhere you're likely to visit. Although technically in Chinatown the hotel is on the very edge of it. A 1 stop MRT ride or 5-10 minute walk will put in the heart of things. The staff are very good. Front desk, housekeeping, etc. are all friendly and quick to respond. The rooms are clean and well equipped. You'll find, powerful showers, a work area, TV, comfortable bed, AC, room safe and ample outlets for charging your devices. The curtain system also allows for a very dark sleep. I also found my room very quiet. WiFi was reliable and robust. With all this positive it is unfortunate that this property has a sore thumb in the form of the restaurant presently named Pappasan. The menu is tired and saying the food is mediocre is being far too complimentary. A shame in a gastronomic place like Singapore. If I were in an operator/ownership situation I would close the restaurant and do a complete reboot. It would raise the level of the entire property. Until such an event I advise avoiding the restaurant. There are far better options within convenient access of the hotel.
