Rooms are extremely small, and found my toilet dirty around the top. The cleaning was not very good. But the staff are friendly. You are about 5 minutes from old china town. They say it is a new hotel, but honestly, it looks older. Wall paper coming of the walls in the hall ways, and breakfast not much seating. It is not good for a family. The rooms are to small for me.
The Dorsett Hotel keeps drawing me back - I think this was my twelfth stay in the past two years or so. This time I was in room 917. The location is right above the Outram Park SMRT station - buy an EZ-link pass if you are here for a few or more nights - you can be in most shopping areas, Marina Bay, Orchard Rd and Harbour Front easily - Chinatown is one station along. I arrived last Saturday evening -- the staff remembered me - check-in and luggage delivery to my room was handled easily - well done. The room comfort is fine - nice bed - cleaned every day to a high standard - no complaints. A few things were fixed simply as required -- well done again. The hotel restaurant is undergoing renovations until August. Sunday morning it was a little congested due to the temp seating arrangements however it seemed to be the same number of tables. The four days everything went smoothly. The food is good, the omelettes are particularly good - the omelette chef makes the best meals to order.. well done again.. It was nice to chat to Peter Chua again, receiving an update on the renovations. I was surprised with a fresh fruit platter and a nice bottle of wine when I entered my room. Well done Dorsett team - I might just come back :o)
I commend all the staff as they are very accommodating and friendly. The hotel interior is fabulous! They are prompt with your request and can leave your baggage after check out to roam in the city. The room is cleaned and maintained with complete facilities and free mobile usage. The breakfast spread is just enough to fill you.
We chose the Dorsett Hotel through an online site prior to our recent visit and really didn't know what to expect. However, from the moment we arrived we knew we had made a good choice. The location was perfect and we chose to walk everywhere as that gave us the opportunity to see and savour so much more of beautiful Singapore. If we had chosen to use public transport, the train and bus services were on the doorstep for us. The hotel itself was lovely. Our room was spacious, modern decor and very clean. Breakfasts were lovely and the restaurant well appointed. The young man who welcomed us at the door was very courteous and friendly. One of the female staff at breakfast was delightful and we wish we had asked her name to let management know how much we appreciated her. We would like to acknowledge one of the reception staff members for her attention to detail and beautiful, courteous manner- well done to you Michelle! You were the "icing on the cake" for our Singaporean stay at the Dorsett. If we return to Singapore we will certainly consider staying at the Dorsett and we will also recommend it to our friends if they plan to visit.
I stay at Dorsett Hotell Singspore to celebrate a belated Father's day on 30/6/17 and this is one of my best stay in Singapore Hotels. The Dorsett Twin bed room is comfortable and have all the necessary amenities. I appreciate the aircon temperature is just nice for me and my dad to sleep comfortable. My initial request is to have a room of city view but the room is not available and luckily the staff of the check-in counter recommend me a room with good view of Bukit Pasoh. We manage to take very good pictures from our room. This room is better than what I expected. The pool, the gym and the roof-top garden are great. All the staff are courteous. Thank you Dorsett Hotel for making the stay for me and my dad so memorable and comfortable, your hotel will always be my top choice.
Not impressed with this hotel at all! Used it as a stop gap between Singapore and Bali and after receiving hands down the best service ever from Balinese people it was a shock to come here. BEWARE Singapore is beyond expensive (coming from a Londoner) you do not get value for money anywhere. £100 a day budget blown on food and a few drinks First of all £23 for breakfast?! Lobby was small and air conned to arctic temperatures to the point where I felt sick with the temperature difference, it must have been 14/15 degrees in there to go out into over 29 degrees outside not a pleasant transition from freezing cold to boiling hot Bar was shut, with no other bars around apart from the brewery across the road this was very fustrating. Room was tiny, T.I.N.Y barely enough room to put the cases down and the bathroom was odd. Cant quite understand why behind the sink was a HUGE gap into the bedroom and the only way to shut it was by using the wardrobe door which meant the wardrobe was open, even then you could still see in. Shower was massive however to get in it you had to slide open the bathroom door then squeeze into the shower and close main door, its very hard to explain which shows how complicated it was, and rather embarrassing when it came to toilet functions when you can see and hear everything! Lift you need key cards for, great I thought, good security, not so good if your other party members where on the floor below, you cant access them at all!! So frustrating No wifi in the rooms only the artic lobby. Good location to metro was all I can say about this hotel. Not a positive experience at all and was happy to leave.
i chose it for the price, the pictures on the website and the pool. I wasn't disapointed by any of it! the rooftop pool is great, the rooms were spacious and the service was very attentive. they allowed me even to shower after checking out and before taking my flight! location is great next to Chinatown preserved housing and close to the metro stop that takes you to Santosa island within 20min max!
I stayed at the hotel during my Business trip. Great location. Just next to the train station. The street at the back of the hotel is full of the good restaurants and cafe. Walking distance to Chinatown.
Good Location.. Good Environtment n Facility.. nice, clean n convinient Hotel. If I Go back to Singapore again, I Will Stay in Dorsett Hotel Again. PS . They Gave A Very Very Good rate and Also I've been free Upgrade to bigger Room
Stayed here for 3 nights for a business trip last April 2017. The aircon in my room is not functioning well. Temperature's always 23-25°C even though it's already set to 12°C. Called the aircon technicians but they told me that there's no problem. This continued for the rest of my stay. Even though the place is nice and the room is clean, I don't want to stay here because they can't fix the problem with the aircon. Staff even told me that it's cold but in fact it is not.
