Not far from Milan central station, close to republican MRT station, breakfast is good and many choices. Wifi is not always working.

My wife and I give this hotel our highest rating. This doesn't mean you should expect the luxury of the finest hotels in the world, but for its category, it ranks at the top. As is true of most hotels in Italy, the rooms are not large, but they are big enough, comfortable, attractive, and clean. Ours had a beautiful view of Tuscan fields and parts of the city. We loved the fact that it is not located in the historic center with the crowds and traffic noise. The 10-minute walk to the Duomo and il Campo, Siena's top attractions, is no problem. We also loved the view from the rooftop bar. The breakfast is included and is very good and plentiful. Another plus: the juices and water in the minibar are included, so you don't need to keep track. The staff at the front desk, in the rooftop bar, and the breakfast room couldn't have been nicer. When my wife had a medical emergency and had to spend 2 days in a hospital, the front desk staff were very helpful and sympathetic. They were quick to accommodate our need to extend our room reservation for 2 extra nights despite the fact that it was the super busy Easter holiday and inquired about her every time I walked by the desk. Of the 4 places we stayed at on our trip, Hotel Athena is our favorite.

This is a relatively large hotel, located just inside the outermost walls of historic Siena. The room was large and comfortable, perfectly clean, with very comfortable bed and luxury bedding. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet was lavish. Dinner at the restaurant was delicious, and there is a terrace with a lovely view over the hills of Tuscany. The hotel is close enough to all of the attractions inside the walls of Siena that everything can be reached on foot (Cathedral and Piazza less than 10 minutes). Ample parking also makes this a great spot for those who wish to use Siena as a base to explore the rest of Tuscany by car, setting out in the morning and returning home at night. Other lodging options for the area would include a farm or inn outside of town (which would require a car) or a smaller, historic, more intimate inn within the town walls, but my friend and I were delighted with the Athena and would return for a future trip.

Love the free parking, staff, breakfast, location, room and view!

We were in Sienna for just one night and did a walking tour. Hotel Athena is a very cute hotel. Front desk was very friendly and the breakfast was one of the best I had in Europe for a free one. The only complaint was the couch bed for our daughter since we had a triple room was not comfortable.

Room was small but clean. Breakfast was good. I wouldn't call it a four star. But would stay if I was going there again. Friendly and helpful staff. I would tell friends about it because of location. And let them know it's not a four star to expect a basic room. Double bed was really two twins put together

Good location, and very helpful staff. Easy to walk to all sites and numerous dinning options. Good breakfast buffet.

We were driving and it was difficult to find. There were signs for a while, but then they stopped and we were on our own. A quick call to the hotel told us to enter at P. San Marco and from there it was easy. The location is not central and there isn't much to see in the area, but it's a very short walk to the Duomo and Il Campo areas. Of all the non-central locations, this is probably the best. Beautifully appointed public areas. The rooms, however, are small, cramped and sparse. Hardly any place to put luggage or personal items. The bathroom is also small but adequate. The shower stall was barely big enough to do the job. But everything was immaculate and the staff was very friendly and helpful. And the parking was free in their underground garage. I would definitely stay here again.

This is a small hotel inside the walls of Siena. The views of Tuscany are breathtaking from Hotel Athena. The rooms are a good size and very clean. There is a great breakfast and the staff was friendly and professional. The hotel is within walking distance of all attractions in Siena. I would stay here again and recommend this hotel to friends.

Great staff in front desk handling checking in/out process. They suggested we should upgrade our room for an additional 20 euros. It had the most wonderful view, a typical Tuscan scenario. However person in charge of breakfast it was the most unpleasant human being. Never (2 days) he welcome us with a "Buon Giorno". He did bother to make sure we had the proper set on our table. We had pick up cutlery and plates from other table. He surely showed he hated his job or pay. Such a contrast with the front desk staff!!

This hotel was truly a 4 star facility and a high point of our 10 day trip to Italy. We celebrated our 25th at this location and wish we had spent more time there. Helpful staff, rooms were well apointed with marble everywhere, good AC, and we had a terrace with a great view of the valley. Siena was a nice place too. Take in the sunset from one of the many cafes around the piazza. If you are a wine lover, we suggest you allow time for a day trip to Montalcino. The drive, views and wine are everything you could imagine Tuscany would be!
