Golden Tulip Ana Tower Sibiu

We had a room on the 5th Floor which had a nice view of Western Sibiu and the mountains in the distance. The room was OK but fittings were somewhat hit and miss - there was reference to room safes, but our room along with many others did not have one. This seemed to sum up the attitude of the hotel. Dinner, a fixed three course meal again, was forgettable, as was the service. Breakfast was OK, just, but charging about $4-5 for proper coffee was ridiculous. Check out was somewhat of a shambles because there were too many people for the number of staff.

We had an excellent stay at this hotel. The rooms are spacious and very clean with attentive staff in the breakfast area and reception. Though it is further than other hotels from town centre it is only a 10 min walk. Also we found some nice restaurants (Gardenia Sibiu) and pubs nearby.

I stayed one night at Golden Tulip Ana Tower Sibiu - only one of the two that were booked initially (I had a voucher from the travel agency, but this was useless...). Well, these days, overbooking becomes a way of life for many hotels in Romania, unfortunately. The reception called me a taxi, and I had to pay - and next day, I had to write another paper and to attach the receipt, in order to get my money back. Of course, the tip for the driver was not included - even if it wasn't my fault for their mistake. (During the same trip, I saw better days in Bucovina, where I simply received the number of the taxi driver and the hotel paid him directly - a more decent way to help the travellers, my oppinion). Room - large, clean, with a nice view. Bathroom - also clean. Hot water, shampoo, body lotion, shower gel. Breakfast - good enough and large selection.

The rooms are modern and if you can obtain a room on the floor between 9 and 11 it will be great. It is also close to city center but city is small anyhow. The food prepared as a buffet is horrible. The breakfast is also bad and I avoid to go there.

We were in room 108.. although it was over the front door of the hotel, we were able to have the side window open at night as there was virtually no outside noise! There was air con which was quiet and effective. The room was large and light, good comfortable beds, lovely quality duvets so we both slept very well. The kettle on the beverage tray didn't work and there were only 2 teabags.. fruit and one opened! and 4 sugars... no coffee or milk. There was quite a large mini bar in the fridge. Plenty of hanging and storage space, a safe, very nice dressing gowns, and nice towels in the bathroom. The water was always piping hot and the shower very good. Good connection for wifi and free. Breakfast in the very nice, wonderfully light dining room on the 11th floor was very good - good range of items, all fresh, plus fresh fruit... we didn't find find much of that in other hotels on our tour - so that was a bonus! Rolls, yoghuts, cooked items, cold cuts, pastries.... You get super views over the city from the dining room and the red sunrise one morning was a real bonus to watch! The hotel is a short easy walk into the old town. We enjoyed our short stay very much.

The hotel is situated a short walking distance from the old town. Our room is pleasant, bed and shower very good, breakfast has lots of selections and pleasant, friendly staff. We were surprised not having a safe in the room. We were also surprised to give laundry in the hotel and getting it back wet. Apparently they don't have dryers, but this is something that should have been indicated on the laundry list. Now I have all my stuff spread out in the room to dry.

We organized an event here and went out very well. We was very excited about the collaboration and the feedback received by the participants regarding the 585 Fusion Restaurant. Congratulations on professionalism!

Booked months in advance directly via their own website and also paid in advance. On arrival the stony faced receptionist said "You have to stay at Ramada". I asked why. She just said "You can't stay here". I argued that this was where I had booked and all she would say is "technical problem", though the Hotel was clearly operational as other guests were coming and going. I asked to talk to the manager. She said he was in his office and come in five minutes. Then she said he had gone home and was refusing to speak to us. They then expected the four of us to traipse half a mile to the other Hotel with our heavy bags and thought my request they provide a taxi unreasonable. Eventually they conceded and a Hotel driver took us. I appreciate things happen sometimes but they have my contact details and could have got in touch. There wasn't the slightest apology, just stony faced rudeness. It's extremely poor form that the manager refused to even speak to us. If a customer is upset, the manager should help. It's rude for the customer and not fair on the staff who are having to deal with a problem that is probably not of their making. I'm annoyed we were moved to another hotel in this way, but would have accepted it had there been a reasonable explanation and apology. The way they dealt with it was shocking, and unprofessional. I'm very disappointed.

A very good modern hotel well situated for the town centre. Reception staff were welcoming and refreshing after a more than unhelpful experience from the local taxis drivers at the airport. Panoramic views, including the sunset, from breakfast/restaurant room on the top (11th) floor were fabulous as was the view from our room. Waiter in breakfast room was very pleasant and helpful. Large choice of hot and cold food breakfast buffet was also very good. Bedroom was very clean and had decent toiletries included.

a very good hotel, well located, with good services and welcoming atmosphere. a great panoramic view from the restaurant. very comfortable and clean rooms. it was a good choice. an improvement could be to add a resting area for the ones that use the sauna service.
