My husband and I just checked out of cabin 23. It was perfectly situated in front of the lake. We had a front row view of spectacular scenery with daily visits from the families of ducks and geese. This cabin was full of rustic charm, exactly what we were expecting. It felt like a family cabin with items not too matchy. The kitchen had everything we needed, pots, pans and even a corkscrew. The area is so quiet, even though we were right off of the 260. The office staff we super friendly. Thanks Melody. We are already planning for our next stay, and will tell all of our friends. Best time we've had in a long time.

I really wanted to like this, but the cabin was disgusting. Beds were basically rollaway beds on metal frames. WiFi didn’t work. TV didn’t work and was set on wide setting (every scene was short and fat) with no remote to correct the TV. Porch furniture was so cheap and broken, you couldn’t sit there for 5 minutes. The lake is only a pond. Cabin furniture was old dirty, and so uncomfortable my knees swelled up. I was lucky I brought my pillow from home, as the pillows were only 2 inches thick.

This nice mountain retreat has a number of vintage cabins sprinkled between the trees on a large lakeside parcel. Most units have a kitchenette, bbq, fireplace and deck. No daily maid service, but they will give you fresh towels when your turn yours in. Bring your own ice.

Just returned home from a 3 night-stay here in cabin #4, a 2 bedroom, full bath, full kitchen, small sitting area with cable TV delightful cabin! I believe it is 541 sf! Very comfortable for the 3-4 adults with 2 dogs! The covered deck overlooking the lake was where we spent most of our time, playing games, having cocktails and mostly just relaxing and enjoying the view, the birds, people fishing, etc. The grounds are very well maintained and offer something for everyone, children and adults alike! Great places to walk your pooches too! Lake of the Woods is sure to please anyone and everyone!

Don’t expect 5 star service. This is a ‘cabin in the woods’. Beautiful setting. We had a recently renovated efficiency. It was clean with new appliances. The TV was one of the old boxes, but we never watched anyway. We did, however, leave one day early because the bed was so uncomfortable. I was told it was new. I think they ordered ‘concrete’ firmness. There is no maid service. Having to exchange your own towels between 9 and 2 is very inconvenient. The owners are very nice and I think will do their best to improve things. Also, no AC and no fan.

Another great trip! Another relaxing time! We tried one of the condos this time and really liked the space and having the boat was fun. Thank you Lake of the Woods for another fun time and helping my family make memories that I hope we have for years.

We stayed here about a year and a half ago and I'd thought I would check back in to see if anything's changed about it. As I read some of the negative reviews I see that it has not. The concept is great, but the execution is poor. Old furniture, Old TV's, Beds that were probably purchased at a thrift store. We left our reservation early because the bed were very uncomfortable. It looks like this is family owned and it seems they have become oblivious to the place falling down around them. Please, either renovate or sell to someone who will. This could be a gem of a place if in the right hands.

The lake view cabin is so far away from the actual lake it’s ridiculous to pay a cent more than a cabin off the lake. For how much you pay they can afford to upgrade pretty much the entire cabin! Ours had two rooms and the cabin only had one small television literally the size of a computer screen, basically sitting on the floor! Fridge I couldn’t even put food in it so small and the 1940s oven couldn’t even fit a family size lasagna . The bathroom mirror is miniature and the shower was so bad and small I skipped the shower the whole stay! The beds are so close to the ground expect back problems from having to bend over so much and the mattresses were like sleeping on the floor , slept better camping ! Also make sure to pack chapstick, humidifier, body lotion face lotion, eye drops, and nasal cream for your bloody nose .. this cabin is so dry my eyes looked like I had pink eye they were so dry. Overall this is probably the worst experience I have ever had .. so sad I took my family here to try and get away from a horrible last few months in the city of family members passing away and horrible stuff happening at work ... not worth the money and I’m so disappointed and embarrassed. O and the sheet and thin blanket on the beds will keep you freezing ! That’s all that’s provided so you will need to bring your own bedding as well

This is not a modern resort, but a group of well kept cabins (of varying sizes) around a small lake and in the pines. You can cook your own meals as kitchens, barbeque grills and tables and tableware are provided (or you can eat in the nearby towns). Cabins are comfortable but many have old furniture. The porches are great with some overlooking the lake. Recommended for families looking for an old-fashioned vacation or those wanting to relax in a quiet atmosphere in the cool forest.

Perhaps it was just Cabin 6 but although it's a lovely setting and cute cabins the filthy furniture is overdue ( by about 10 years) for a refurbishment. They say to put a sheet on the sofa if you have pets. We did not have a pet but still put the sheet we carry in back of SUV to keep carpet clean over the sofa. It was cleaner than the sofa which had no cushion padding left. It also had holes in the fabric. The bedspreads were from the 90's and probably not washed since early 2000. Holes in the blankets etc. the cabin itself was clean and so were the linens. Just completely worn out. Even the plastic patio chairs outside were brittle and no longer stable. Would have been a great place to come back to if they had just done a little bit of upkeep.
