The hotel provided a great view, with the room itself being a great size with a very comfortable bed and standard bathroom. When we arrived found a complimentary dessert which we realised was for the previous guest in our room, as it had a name which wasn't ours written on it, that had not been removed. The sofa in our room produced a odd unpleasant odour, which seemed to be emitted from it as it was shone on by the sun, it was worryingly "urine like" and completely ruined our stay. We expressed our concern to staff and they sent some one up to clean the room whilst we were out, but that did not to get rid of the smell at all. The restaurant was pleasant and provided a really good breakfast, but some what of an interesting labyrinth to get to if you live on a higher floor or found the rickety elevator to be a claustrophobic nightmare. We had an amusing evening where we were asked how our meal was a record 7 times, but in general it would have been a nicer experience if a bit more initiative was taken in dealing with the smell in the room coming from the sofa.
Had a great stay in this hotel that was chosen in our package deal. It is a 4 star hotel with what you will expect. A couple of let down was the wifi had some issues in parts of the building including our room for more than a day, which the staff dealt with the best they could. The other let down, was shower/ hot water facility again hit and miss, it gets colder in the evening and when you're in the shower and the hot water runs out and you're washing your hair.. One more let down, but not due to the hotel itself, next door occupants had their music blasting at midnight early hours and again around 6.00am on the first night we were there. That was so annoying as we just arrived after a 9 hrs train ride in the evening very tired! Thank god they checked out the next day! Fact is this place and all the hotel we stayed in India, staffs have been fantastic.
i have paid rs.57000 for three nights stay. the price was not matching with the facilities and rooms ambiance. rooms looks to be pretty ordinary and needs up gradation. the food quality needs improvement.
hi there we enjoyed our trip with family we are from punjab, we booked our cab from mohali from cabblo.com and they send us best care and same as tripadvisor help us to find this hotel we enjoyed with stay this hotel.
Excellent location. The hotel is on the edge of the mountain and has breathtaking views over Shimla. Close to tourist attractions and an easy walk to Mall Street. Beautiful interior, Victorian style building. Excellent staff. Will recommend it to all. The food was varied and very well prepared.
at the hotel i was staying in me and my wife like to relax and enjoy our holiday away from home. on the second day of our stay in the hotel we decided to go to the swimming pool and relax. when we got to the swimming pool we noticed it was dirty so we asked the staff to clean it. The pool was cleaned on our 4th day of our stay. there was also construction work going on around the pool which meant we could not relax in our sunbeds and enjoy the sun. during our stay the stairs in the hotel leading to the swimming pool and to our rooms were wet. i took a fall on the steps which twisted my ankle, i asked a member of staff for assistants. the after care was discussing none of the staff asked if i was in pain or hurt. however the stay at the hotel was satisfactory. Kind Regards, R Varsani K Varsani
We had a lovely visit at the Radisson even though we had to climb several stairs in order to get to the dining room. In the final morning, we even forego breakfast as my husband wasn't up to the climb. The hotel sent us a continental breakfast to the room at no charge. The facial at the spa was amazing but again, I forego a second visit due to the myriad of steep stairs in order to get to the spa which was the farthest point in the property. The dinner was superb. Hotel is undergoing renovations which hopefully will find a solution to the various levels and access.
We stayed here 3 nights. We had to waste a lot of water before it ran hot enough to shower. The hairdrier stopped working on the 2nd day. There are a LOT of steps between rooms, lobby, dining room, spa and pool and only ONE LIFT on the first level. The bar is OUTSIDE.There was no local beer - alcohol is expensive. Internet access is sketchy. The pool is cold. One member of spa staff speaks very little English and missed out the steam bath when I booked 5 treatments. It is tough climb to the Mall from this hotel. HOWEVER the views are spectacular, the food is good, the staff are very smiley and polite, the decor is very pleasing and the rooms comfortable. I think I would shop around for a more modern hotel where they really are keen on your comfort.
Set on a hillside and on a myriad of levels, the hotel sprawls a bit and you need to navigate yourself in and out of buildings to reach the restaurant on the lower level. The staff are friendly and the hotel was clean and comfortable. It is quite a steep walk up to the Ridge, but the hotel will provide transport to half way up at a small charge. The bed was comfortable and I had a great nights sleep. One disappointment again was the nature of the water in the pool, which was cloudy and did not seem to be chlorinated. As water is a main source of infection in India it didn't make you want to risk it. It would have been nice to have a swim, but it was really uninviting. The high point of this hotel was the marvellous Sumit who covered the bar terrace and restaurant. His friendliness and impeccable service are a credit to the hotel. Breakfast was buffet style with a good choice of items and dinner also had a wide variety of choice and was tasty and reasonably priced. We enjoyed our stay here and were unaffected by the renovations taking place. Of note for families and persons with limited mobility, there are many steps to negotiate, which can be slippery when wet. In conclusion this is a nice hotel with friendly staff and in a good location for exploring the town.
I checked into Radisson Shimla on 26thApril, 2017. Hotel is no doubt great and the reception staff was extremely courteous and prompt. In less than 5 minutes I was checked in. However, when inside the room I got shock of my life to learn that renovation work was at full swing. In addition to noise of machines and hammer noise, I experienced terrible smell of constructoon and polish material. My throat was on the verge of chocking. The wordt csme at night. Even at 11 pm the renovation work continued in full swing with even terrible machine noise and that foul smell. I called up reception to stop that. The machine got stopped but the work still continued. I felt really cheated. You don't expect such behaviour from star hotels. They could have warned us forthwith that renovation work was going on and could have left it on us whether we still wanted to stay or not. After checking in I really didn't have option. Moreover, after psying a sum of Rs 14000 per night even dental and shaving kits had tobe asked for. There was also no slipper in the room. Overall, despite courteous staff and awsome foid in restaurant, I felt cheated during my stay due to absolutely disturbing noises of renovation and terrible smell which chocked mine as well as my wife's throat
