Seaview Gleetour Hotel Shenzhen4.0 out of 5.0

Hotel itself is very nice. However, the rooms are dark, and stare into another building. It was depressing being there for 5 days. I would not recommend this hotel for longer than an one night stay, especially for business
China National Day is a big celebration of the country and its people so naturally it’s a week public holiday for the locals but it happens to fall on a Sunday so automatically Monday is automatically a public holiday! We decided to spend it in Shenzhen instead of traveling far out of Hong Kong. Looking for the most convenient hotel close to some of the major attractions of Shenzhen we found this hotel as the best choice with its reasonable price! Though the hotel is a bit old we were given a room at their newly renovated wing (so they said). The room is spacious enough for a couple with toiletries and a good size flat screen tv. Bathroom is clean and neat with a shower stall but without a bathtub. Mattress is soft but it disturbs you when your partner moves around. The only downside is when you’re facing the mountain view where old row houses is right in front of your window. The air con is running just enough to keep you comfortable. They also provide free map where all attractions within Shenzhen are clearly shown in English and Chinese. Overall the room is comfortable and clean. The front desk staffs can speak English and are also nice and helpful to our needs. They have Chinese, Korean restaurant with parking lot if you happen to be driving. A food Street is just behind the hotel so you won’t get starve. A Costa coffee opens until 23:00 daily and Starbucks is just a few minutes walk away. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you prefer closer to most attractions at a very reasonable price.
Firstly, the name is confusing. It is now branded as the Seaview Gleetour hotel, which confuses taxi drivers. Otherwise, there's little not to like about this hotel. It may be slightly down at heel, and my first room was definitely not Sea view - overlooking balconies of washing. However, I was speedily transferred to a room higher up with fantastic views over to Hong Kong - all it needed was a large panoramic window, but at least the windows opened slightly. Its location could not be better. It's right opposite "Splendid China" and just a short walk from "Window on the World" and "Happy Valley" amusement park. Behind the hotel are a row of good restaurants, and a small shopping mall with supermarket is nearby. The Metro station is literally just across the road. The hotel is very eco-conscious; toiletries are in brown paper bags and the waste bin subdivides into recyclable and non-recyclable - the first time I've seen this in a hotel. The buffet breakfast is good, with a varied selection of western as well as eastern food. Receptionists are a little dour, with limited English, but the bellboys are first class and will find taxis if you don't have the necessary app on your phone. However, when checking-out at 7 am, there was only one receptionist and no bellboy to help with luggage down the steps (why no ramp?) but a taxi was waiting. The area for loading and unloading is cramped and not helped by some works that seem to be ongoing. But overall, this was a pleasant hotel and an enjoyable stay.
The location is fantastic and it is away from crowds, Train station is just outside the hotel. The breakfast is not too bad, there is many restuarants behind the hotel which personally I love the porridge restuarant which is right to the end. The bed is pretty comfy and the water pressure for the shower is just nice!
I went there with my wife to see my friend who stayed there. We stayed for 4 nights at the new building which outside the lobby, you need to walk around 20-30m but the building doesn't look new to me. The problem is, if it's raining, I'm not sure if we can go through the new building. The area of the hotel is recommended and close to tourists area location. Window of the world is walking distance, MRT subway is right in front of the hotel. Many restaurants Chinese from a lot of different Chinese province located behind the hotel (2-3 minutes walk) The hotel close to big supermarket walmart. The room is clean, nice and light also enough. We didn't talk to the staff much but they do speak english. Breakfast just ok. My preference u better have dimsum close to the hotel call Bamboo Garden Restaurant. Our book with breakfast but we had breakfast at bamboo which more local food taste. 1 thing bothering me but not critical, the bed is too soft and pillow too flat. I have back pain, so it's kind a hard for me to sleep, but for my wife just ok. Decoration just standard nothing to admire but this is a tourist hotel who love to walk and not admiring interior of the hotel. Overall i will come back to the hotel and it's not becuase the location but also clean, the price is reasonable and the room is big.

Arrival in SZ is smooth and sign board will direct you towards immigration. After this collect ur checkin luggage and towards Exit, take the lift to B1 and hire a metered Taxi to The Hotel. Approx fare will be around 55-60 RMB. Checkin at Hotel is smooth. Reception staff does speak Good English. The 7/11 store is located just behind for any urgent purchases. Just follow the monorail path and U will get a McDonalds. Rooms at Hotel are quite Ok, clean and well kept. Staff is courteous and quick to respond. Just call reception in case "only english" Use the safe lock at Hotel to store ur valuables. U have a sort of mixed Italian restaurant at reception. The hotel charges 82RMB additional for Breakfast inclusive booking. Right in front is the OCT(Overseas China Town) metro station on Line1. Culture Village, splendid China is across the subway. Windows of world is next station to OCT costs 2RMB pp. Happy Valley is opp side of Windows of the world. Flea market shopping can be done at luohu which is last stop on Line1.
The location of the hotel is convenient. Nearby the hotel there's a lot of café and restaurants. It is next to OCT metro station so is very convenient to travel around. The room is big and clean. There's however no swimming pool in this hotel. The only inconvenient is there are 2 building and I was book on the other building and has to walk over to the building from outside. It will be a problem if it is raining or carrying a large lugguage.
Nice hotel Nice entrance Good food in Chinese restaurant Service is attentive and well managed English is very limited but the quality of service makes up for the lack of language skills Happy to return Try the Chinese dough stick Excellent
Nice hotel, a little dated with beds that were like concrete. All of our team had the same comments about the beds! Western Breakfast very nice, superbly love caged in a beautiful leafy suburb in Shenzhen. Pool was empty and there aren't many amenities. Staff speak little or no English.
Decent rooms, Close to metro and has a back street full of restaurants. Room is just ok nothing spectacular, but food at bamboo cafe and breakfast make up for it. After a long day at work you can eat good food and rest well in this quiet location.
