Stayed here one night on business. The rooms are nice, there's no trace of cigarette smell on the non-smoking floors. One slightly odd detail is the inclusion of a packet of condoms as part of the minibar/bathroom products for sale in the room. The staff are friendly, a few speak good English. I was welcomed in my room with a complimentary bowl of fruit, which was nice. The breakfast spread is good quality, but they don't have the sheer size of some other buffets I have seen. One slightly frustrating issue is the fact that there is another Grand Skylight hotel just down the road. Taxi and Uber drivers are more familiar with the other hotel. Even telling them street address, they will try to pick you up from the other hotel, and will try to drop you off at that hotel as well. Overall I had a good stay.
I am so comfortable stayed 3 nights at the hotel. All staffs speak english and pleasant. The breakfast menus are satisfied with plenty of choices. The hotel is far from downtown department stores but I rented a car so no problem of transportation. During my visit there were some maintenances and the hotel clearly let us know by written notice, anyway they didn't disturb at all. I only can't understand why there is a lady who knocked the door and politely come to put a milk and condom to be sold in my room. If it purchased one, why not in the advanced with other mini bars and sanitary things?...
Average cleaness, it seemed that the shhets were the same every day, good to average business lounge at 12th floor, poor breakfast, very little alternatives in terms of quick food at lobby or other places, staff in front of the hotel were helpfull.
Stayed here while visiting the Electronic Wholesale markets. The Hotel is good - there was not a single person that spoke English at the front desk, but being it is not a Western known brand I did not expect it. It is clean and quiet. So it was nice to get back to after spending a day doing electronic market marathons. the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable - so overall a great hotel for the money.
Stayed 12 nights in June 2014. Location was OK with 10 - 15 min walk to the subway station. Room and service were average and reasonable but lacked details. Food in the restaurants was acceptable and without surprise, It was not easy to get a taxi at times.
the hotel is below average. the ATM near the hotel gave me fake money. i believe that i also received fake money from the hotel itself. the room smelled and felt very damp. hotel's location is not good at all.
This was my first time staying in this hotel. Before arriving, I thought it might be not good as it is managed by a state-owned enterprise and comments on Tripadvisor were not favorable. After I arrived, the check-in process was smooth, and the room was much better than I expected (though I got a Delux room). It is spacious and well set up. The breakfast was also better than average in Shenzhen. The Chinese Restaurant at the Hotel is quite good, though a bit pricey. In short, the hotel exceeded my expectation.
Easy friendly check in despite putting myself and my partner in separate beds due to language barrier! Had paid in advance on the net via agoda However the following morning there was a Caucasian lady that spoke excellent English and answer our questions. Was easy to get to taking ferry from HKIA and cost $65 rm taxi from there to the hotel( ride very hairy and fast). Breakfast $10( Aus)/ person was worth it for the coffee if anything. Food choice was fair and reasonable but not fabulous. We did not have any other meals there apart from that. Mrt very close by and lots of shops within walking distance. Wifi a bit slow at times. Biggest downside is that the rooms although clean stunk of stale cigarettes and in the corridors of the hotel people obviously smoked as it stunk as soon as you walked out the door. This unfortunately included the towels and the pillow cases. Both the kids loo and ours got blocked (???? Loo couldn't cope with Aussie poos) but was fixed promptly. Was unable to find a decent laundry nearby. Check out easy. Unfortunately didn't enjoy Shenzhen at all apart from the food. Only head there if you want to shop. Even then we did not find anything of high quality at bargain prices. Hong Kong is much more enjoyable, people more friendly making the experience a better one. Goods also ( clothes) although more expensive are of higher quality with much more variety and more to western taste. Ps there questionable females that hand out numbers to Caucasian men with no shame right in front of the hotel. My other 1/2 passed it to the doorman.
Traveled from Guanghzhou by taxi to this hotel cost about 1200rmb (£120) Reception is limited and communication in English is limited. The rooms are a fair size and amenities such as iron etc can be requested from room service. The two restaurants are very expensive. On the plus side they are walking distance (10 mins) to multiplex electronic markets and Pizza Hut, Currency exchange is not available for sterling only Dollars, check out can be requested for 2.00 as opposed to 12.00 Overall could be improved with more experienced staff and more amenities. However staff was polite and accomodating. Local shops and malls close about 10.30pm. Internet saver rate was about £75 per night which is about right.
With its super fast check-in, first class Front Desk Manager supervising, western breakfast with a great variety, we keep coming back again and again. This is the 10th year we visited this hotel and liked it. Close to the Conventional center, it is the reason we're visiting Shenzhen every 2 years and shopping. The latest electronics and fashion is just around the corner. Good connection to Hong Kong Conventions and the airport.
