I spend 100-150 days a year in hotels for business. I am in Sheldon, IA to speak at the local community college. I stay at the newest hotel, the Holiday Inn Express. The service was fine, the room was clean, etc.. The main complaint is that in the morning the maids went down the entire hallway waking everyone up. Literally walking down the hallway knocking on every door versus going room by room. I was up late working so still sleeping before my 11:00 am meeting started and they woke me up pounding on the doors. Normal hotels they go to a room and knock and then enter. Not here they roust everyone out in one shot. To help the management it was the morning of March 23 on the second floor.
We went to this hotel with around 50 of our family members for a Christmas party. It was amazing service the front desk was very accommodating and helpful.the pool was a huge hit for the kids and breakfast was terrific. This hotel does it right!! Thanks for the wonderful stay!!
Easy access off highways 18 or 60. We travel a lot for business and usually seek out HIE. This location did not disappoint. Asked for a first floor room and received it. Room and bathroom were clean, inviting, and comfortable. Breakfast is the standard HIE and we love the coffee! Definitely recommend!
This has been one of the best hotels I've stayed at. I used to travel a lot for work and stayed at this one almost every week. The rooms are always spotless and the breakfast always good. The hotel receptionists even recognized me as a frequent customer.
The hotel staff was wonderful, the room was clean & comfortable. Loved the promotion that corporate is doing with the Snoozapalooza, even though we aren't late sleepers, I can see where this would be very beneficial to a lot of people. The thank you note we found under the door was a nice little added touch to already great service.
Hotel Staff is amazingly friendly and helpful, allowed a early check in and late check out since we were traveling with small children. Pool can be a little bit crowded at times with people from town coming to swim but that was a very small inconvenience.
Paige was just wonderful at check in, efficient, friendly, appropriately curious about my stay and travel, truly a delight to meet. On top of that, the next morning I received a thank you note for my stay, how lovely!!. Hotel was clean, comfortable, had a great breakfast, one of the best I ever had and really delicious Cinnamon rolls. Thank you Holiday Inn in Sheldon. If I ever find myself passing through Sheldon again, would love a second stay,
I was shocked to see that for one night in this motel it was more then any motel I've ever stayed in when visiting Omaha or Des Moines!! For this tiny town?? Putting that aside, this is very beautiful and clean. The pool is enormous as it is also available for the public to use. They even have a lifeguard, which is nice! The rooms are big and the beds are comfortable. I think it was the best night of sleep I've had in almost a year! The pop machines were both out of water, which was disappointing as I don't drink hotel water and since we didn't get there for the night until midnight, I didn't want to go back out. They were also out of the pop my daughter wanted so I hope they fill that soon. The breakfast was delicious with pancakes, eggs, cereal, cinnamon rolls, hot chocolate, milk, juice, and coffee. I really enjoyed my stay and would give it excellent if not for the price.
Very nice hotel, clean, good amenities, good breakfast, etc. No complaints at all except the price! This hotel is grossly overpriced for such a small town. That's why it's overpriced. They know visitors have few options so they are gouging guests. I have stayed in other hotels in the Dallas area, the San Antonio area, the Oklahoma City area, even the San Diego area and never pay this much for a room!
We enjoyed our stay here. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were well kept and clean. Our beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was very good as well. We would recommend this hotel to any family or friends.
