I enjoyed my stay at the Marriot, the room was very comfortable and overlooked the river which was a nice view. It was quiet and peaceful there, the staff were very friendly and helpful.
I had a very pleasant experience there, with large, well furnished room, and a very very good swimming pool / spa area. For business, it is probably the best value for money in Shanghai, and now i may even consider it for leisure as well. The restaurant inside the hotel are good as well, and they make up for the lack of eateries around the hotel. Wel definitely come back.
When my visa issue precluded my arrival by one day, the Marriott management in Shanghai Luwan would not exonerate my prepayment for that one day. Even as a gold member with Marriott, they told travel agency they would not refund that one night stay that I could not make. In the future, I will not use a travel agency. . A reservation through Marriott website would have ensured that I paid only for the nights in which I stay. I think this was very inflexible on the part of the Marriott management, especially for a gold club member. I was very disappointed. Not the money, but the insensitivity.
