Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Shamrock North

Worst check in experience ever in 30+ years.

After traveling for 30+ years, this was the worst check-in experience ever. Arrived and found the hotel internet system was not working. Person behind the desk tried to call every manager available as we waited for more than 20 minutes. Manager finally showed up and tried to boot the computer system to no avail. We told the desk workers that our room was paid for online by an internet travel site. No good. Another man walked in and offered to pay cash. He was told that that would be ok. I offered a cash deposit and work out payment details in the morning. No good. I called the general Holiday Inn number and told them of the trouble. They called the desk people, who said they were handling it. Then another lady walks in using reward points and gets a room before us by filling out a form. I asked to fill out the same form, filled it out with credit card and other personal info, and still did not get a room. We finally asked why we were not afforded the same privilege as the lady that came in after us, to which the people behind the desk finally gave us a key, almost 45 minutes after we arrived. Had I not already booked this room online, I would have left. The forms used by the lady and I were contingent forms for down computers. It takes 45 minutes for these people to use contingency forms? I will not stay at another Holiday Inn property.

Route 66 Inn

Already paid on Orbitz but they made me pay again

Paid for hotel on Orbitz $117 for 3 nights when I booked online but they made me pay again $60/night plus $60 bc my dogs peed on their floor. This happened to me one other time at a hotel in San Antonio but I don't remember which one. That's cheating people. Should had included total price up front.

Econo Lodge Shamrock

Hotel front looks good. Dirty room.

I didn't have high expectations and I don't always review hotels though we travel quite a lot. The front of this econolodge gives a good impression. Well lit, and It looks clean and safe. Friendly staffs. The room we got though was dirty! It has carpet and it looks like it has not been vacuumed in a while because I saw dead flies and dead spiders when I bend down to pick up my phone. So I looked around more and found many of them together with some dust bunnies. On the positive side; At least I know they sprayed something to kill those creatures. There was also a fridge in this room that didn't work... I opened it to find dirt all over it. I mean, how hard it is really to just wipe it a bit? I've booked many hotel rooms with various prices and honestly, this is the dirties I have stayed so far. Cleanliness is very important to be comfortable. I don't think I will be going to Shamrock again but if ever, I won't be staying here again.
