We are from Raleigh, After losing our room at wedding venue ,and calling more than 20 hotels by 1:15am we found an angel, Late night check in ,On a Friday night ,no reservation and Mrs Wright took excellent care of us and put us in a clean room and her general attitude helped make the problem , more bearable not worse, Thank you for kind words and great customer service , we will be back here to stay

We've been staying here for several years as a good hotel to stay at and very close to Holden Beach. If we arrive in time, we can drive into the beach and enjoy dinner somewhere on Holden Beach. We recommend this hotel if in that area in need of hotel accommodations.

Very clean establishment well staffed by very courteous staff particular the lady Staffing the breakfast bar period She was extraordinary. Was warmly greeted with a hug by the general manager comma made to feel very welcome and comfortable

I stayed at this property Sunday June 18 and Monday June 19 while attending a conference in the region. I found the property doing a search on TripAdvisor and, based on the reviews listed and the fact I was traveling alone I decided to give it a try. It was serviceable and met my needs for a couple of days when I was only in the room for the evenings to wind down, shower, and rest. Now the details... Pros: Fitness room does have free weights and a couple of cardio machines BUT the room is a bit small. I did not use the fitness room but I tried to access it with my room key card and the door would not unlock each time I tried it during my 2-day stay. Not sure what that was about.... Lemon water in lobby for afternoon/evening/night was a nice touch Lobby was pleasing to the eye albeit a bit small but was probably about the right size for this hotel property Breakfast was okay...eggs and pork products, muffins, bagels, waffle maker, yogurt, fresh fruit (bananas, apples, oranges), coffee. Nothing exciting here but enough to get you started. Note there is a Bojangles restaurant practically next door which may be a good option for a fuller breakfast. Decent rate for my stay--$66 per night Right off the main highway- US 17--and not too far from the town center of Shallotte (less than 2 miles) where there is a WalMart, Chilis, McD, BK, and many other usual national chain restaurants and stores. The hotel is directly adjacent to a highway rest area Outdoor pool available...elevator available Staff was USA Today newspaper on weekdays CONS: Hotel shows its age a bit but it appears renovations are underway. One key issue is the overall security of the property because the side entrance door (down a long corridor that one uses to access all the first floor rooms) is not locked. There is no key card entry; one can merely open the door without using a key. Not sure if this is the case at the other doors for the hotel but when I asked the front desk clerk about the unsecured side entry door she said the owners are working on fixing can hope. This property would really not be worth more than about $90 per night even in peak season given the overall appearance and amenities offered. One thing the hotel has in its favor in terms of charging room rates is that there is a dearth of hotels in Shallotte; lack of competition. All in all the hotel was sufficient for a short stay where one is not worried about aesthetics. I would not really recommend the hotel for couples travel or family travel but in a pinch it could work. Looking to see this hotel upgraded in the near future.

Had the pleasure of staying here again on our fishing trip at Ocean Isle for Mothers Day!! I was soo impressed with the new look and GREAT hospitality!!! Sherry was the front desk Angel who helped us check in and was Fantastic with customer service!!! The lobby was beautiful and the rooms were just the same!!! We even found mints on our pillows!! Nice!!! The room was cool and clean!!! We had our son and his family vacationing with us and he was impressed with the rooms as well!! This was his first time staying here and it was his birthday present.. Im sure it wont be forgotten anytime soon. It had been a few years since we stayed here and the transformation is outstanding!!! The room and lobby decor was pretty and the free breakfast taste great!! I encourage you to stay here if you are looking a comfortable bed and great hospitality!!!

Tried to use my Choice Priviledges to book this and to buy the residual points I needed. The program is very consumer unfriendly (unlike the staff at this motel). The reps on the phone could not take my credit card to hold the room with my points nor could they take my credit card to pay for the additional points needed. Told I had to do so online. HA! Try doing that while driving without a computer. Got to the hotel and used their computer, but I had no idea what my 11 year old pass word was or my proper user name. NO HELP WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE ON LINE. Paid cash for room. Program is poorly executed. Staff here was helpful, but it was out of their control!

I spent a week at the motel. It was a nice stay. The staff was incredibly friendly and polite. I was very pleased with the continental breakfast. It was hot and fresh. They are currently under renovation and should even better when complete.

The room was nice considering the remodeling that is taking place. I would recommend this place to other travelers. I liked the proximity to the beaches. The breakfast was very good. I will stay there again when I'm in the area.

My overall experience at the Comfort Inn in Shallotte NC exceeded my expectations. It proved to be a five star rating hotel without having to payout the five star hotel money. It hotel and personnel was warm and friendly and did everything right to make our stay there pleasureable.

I have been staying at this Comfort Inn for 11 years when my brother and I go down for a week of golfing. We always stay there because it's location is remarkably convenient to the first golf course we play in NC each year. The staff, accommodations and breakfast are fantastic and it is the best Comfort Inn I have ever stayed in. I would recommend this location to anyone traveling through North Carolina.
