Inside this traditional log cabin, the Smokies get a red-white-and-blue treatment, an Americana motif that runs from the great room to the game loft. American Bear sits near the front of Bear Creek Crossing Resort: a two-story, 2,400 square foot cabin for up to 8, with high ceilings, big windows, and wooded views off a wraparound deck. Both king bedrooms are on the main level with private baths, and the primary adds a jetted tub. Upstairs, the loft is a full rec room. The resort perks come with it, too, with indoor and outdoor pools and a mini-golf course a short walk away.

We made the best of it because we only stayed a couple of nights and were out more than in. Location too far out unless you’re just staying in. The area is nice gated, and peaceful. We slept on top of covers, not so clean-stained possibly and you definitely want to take extra blankets, TP, paper towels, and some towels for hot tub. It was nice to have extra garbage bags already there. Had great communication with everything checking in/out.
