Stayed here with my sister for 4 nights, our first time in Seoul proper. Has excellent transport - close to Itaewon (10-15min walk tops), also close to a lot of Vegan Restaurants (good for my sister who is Vegan), bars and pubs - many expats around. Right next to Samkaji subway station, which also has a bus stop for the night bus going to the airport which was great for me. Staff friendly, enjoyed meeting them. The room itself was a little small - not big enough for two giant suitcases really. Sheets were a little stained, but more from age rather than any real dirt. Shower was kind of tiny - the water pressure sucked for hot water, but if you don't mind cold showers was pretty good. Overall, enjoyed my stay here!

Loved staying here. It had everything I needed and some awesome people to hang out with! Would definitely recommend to anyone flying through. Thanks Serena for hanging out and making my stay as awesome as possible!

Booked on the day, Tuesday for 20,000원 KRW. Price was cheap, especially for the private room. But where do I start. 1. Location isn’t Itaewon. So don’t book here if you think you’re there. It’s not mega far, but a bit misleading. 2. “I’ve upgraded you so leave a good review on trip advisor”. Ummm.... 3. Upgrade? Couldn’t swing a cat. Stains on the duvet and pillows. Towels had brown marks on them with hairs that were not mine. 4. Whoever the manager was, he was scolding a customer in front of everyone. Not very nice for her or us who were waiting to check in. 5. Do I need to go on? Sorry, but might be cheap. But no thanks.

We didn't want to come back to our room after we went out for dinner. It was dingy with stained wallpaper. The air conditioning seemed to be broken. The pillows and comforter had several stains, and the towels had hairs on that weren't ours. Add that to the moldy bathroom, and overall not a very pleasant stay. Positives were reasonably friendly staff and good location.

For: great location, plenty of transport options (buses, subway, airport shuttle). Close to Itaewon area with plenty of bars, pubs and clubs; many cafe options with local and western food. Against: room was not cleaned properly, it is very noisy. For some reason they gave me room with bunk bed that was very hard, besides there was a tiny hole aka window and something was banging against it most of the night - hence poor sleep quality. Could find better option for the same budget.

10 minutes walk to Itaewon. On the metro. Room is 2 meters by 3 meters. Small but well proportioned. Quiet. Mike and Stephanie were great. I would ask them to add some more hooks and a stool to the rooms, but really I had all I needed. Great bargain.

If you want a clean, safe, budget option, this is it. We were a bit worried when we first arrived as it's in an alley. But the moment we stepped inside we were comforted. It's close to Itaewon, but not in it - it's about a 10 min walk. The people working there were great. They all spoke English and had good recommendations. They will do your laundry for you for so cheap! The rooms are clean and the beds were ok. It's definitely a budget option but we were very happy there for 6 nights.

I stayed in a single room which was a decent size. The room has a single bed which is rock solid!! The room and bath room were clean. They provided towels that were dirty and looked unwashed. There is a TV with cable TV and good wifi. Hostel staff were friendly and helpful.

I highly recommend the Sun City Hostel in Seoul. It is located very close to both Samgakji and Yongsan subway stations. Perfect location if you will be taking the KTX train. The building itself is difficult to find as the sign is pretty small, but the English directions on the website are very good and I found the place easily. The owner speaks English and was very helpful. The rooms are small, but the quality is good. I had my own bathroom which was nice. For the money, this was the best hotel I had in Korea. The area this hotel is in is cool. It very close (walking distance) to the War Museum of Korea and the I'Park mall, which is huge. Also walking distance to Samgakji and Yongsan stations. There are plenty of small Korean restaurants around (the restaurant in front of the Sun City Hostel is very good and the man who runs it speaks pretty good English too). I highly recommend.

I made a mistake with the hostel booking and accidentally booked only one night instead of two. So when I showed up I actually hadn't booked for that night, but the night after. The hostel owner was really nice about it and said I could stay in a room where the reservation had been cancelled. It was a double room but I got it for the price of a single for two nights. I was really appreciative since I didn't want to have to go out in the cold and find a motel. As for the room, as other reviewers have said it is small with no window, but it comes with private bath, TV, fridge, and it's in good condition. Location is also good, walking distance to subway and Korean war memorial. If you want a nice cheap place to stay and don't plan on spending a ton of time in your room than I recommend. It was just what I was looking for.
