My boyfriend and I only had two days in Seoul, therefore we packed our days with touristy things and we were barely in the hotel. This hotel was PERFECT for just that. I wouldn't have wanted to spend too much time in the hotel itself. It was by no means "luxurious" or even "homey." Just very basic. Kinda dirty to be honest, but had a comfortable bed, working shower, AC, TV, and other basic necessities. The location of this hotel is PERFECT. Its tucked away slightly behind a GS but is for the most part in the dead centre of Insa-dong. The streets light up at night with venders and music and lots of fun, however it is not loud if you'd like to get to sleep at a reasonable time. The staff was friendly. We got free water and juice boxes every morning, accompanied by fresh towels. All in all, stay here if you're on a budget... It is the perfect location and we'll stay here again if we get the chance!
This budget little gem has everything one needs. Bathroom and hairdryer and floor heating. Yes it is a little aged but it is right smack in the middle of insadong Street. Kudos to Mr Cho the Inn keeper for his great initiative. Initially we booked a ground floor traditional Korean sleep on the floor style. We found it too cold as cold air sinks. Mr Cho offered us a room switch to a normal king sized bedroom on the 4th floor which is much cosier and warmer for our chilly Dec. Then we asked for directions to the nearest TripAdvisor recommended restaurant Cha Iyaga... Mr Cho actually walked us there.. He wasn't sure of the directions either... We found it... We really appreciated that extra effort made by him. Thank you very much. Would recommend my friends to stay here!
In the heart of Seoul, in a tiny quiet street surrounded by bars, restaurants and (tourists) shops, this hotel is a bargain!!!!!! Basic but clean and well furnished, with natural day light, the rooms are evrthg a traveler on a budget can wish for. The staff (owners?) is as sweet as a pie and does not embarrass himself with all the paper work and etiquette the Koreans fancy so much. This is obviously not a 4Seasons, or even an Ibis, but it is of a much better value!!!!
Our stay in this hotel was he pinnacle of our accommodations in South Korea. The proximity wise, the best place to stay in near Insadong. Love the beddings and the tub. Having a second door before the actual bedroom gives us a feeling of more privacy. They change the beddings everyday too! We also appreciated that even if we were able to book a date incorrectly via Agoda, their management was willing to accommodate our request to change the date even if our booking has a no cancellation option. Hopefully, in the future they can add free breakfast. Thank you for the great experience! We will definitely stay again when we come back to Korea.
Stayed here on 30th march 2017 for 5 nights. Arrived late almost midnight yet no problem with check in. Staff was really friendly & helpful. Room a bit small but complete with all the basic needs like mini bar, hot shower, flat screen tv and they even have a computer in the room! When we went there, Seoul's temperature was 10 degree & below. The room was really warm & comfortable. The floor has heater. Toilet, no problem. They have 1 small tub, shower with hot water & basic toiletries. The location is really great! In the heart of Insadong i must say, near to subway, walking distance to the palaces, near to 24hours convenience store. Will definitely stay here if i ever come to Seoul again!
Room is a bit small but clean, water and juices provided daily. The best about this hotel is its location at the heart of Insadong and close to every main sightseeing places in Seoul, i managed to walk to most of the places i wanted to visit. Close to several subway stations as well. I definitely recommend this hotel if you are coming to visit Seoul.
We needed a cheap place to stay one night in Seoul. Insadong is my very favourite neighbourhood in town, and so we looked around there. This is one of the cheapest in the area, and it really feels Korean. It's clean, but not new. It is an older building and clearly has been in business for a while. The bed was big and soft by Korean standards. There is a reason it's been in business for a long time, and it's not just location. We are very happy with the staff, who were professional and helpful at all times. They kept our luggage when we needed help for several hours, and let us use their printer when we needed to. It was a great stay, and we think they should have better reviews on here.
This hotel has everything a budget traveller needs. It's quiet, is located centrally, is very clean and the staff are friendly. We planned to stay for 3 nights but added on two more as we loved the area and wanted to explore more. The rooms are a little on the small side, but this is budget hotel and if you just want somewhere to crash this is it. It's next to a tube stop and a short walk from one of the most famous temples. There is also a small shop next door which is ideal for stocking up on snacks. Couple of points to be aware of: No breakfast included Blanket can be a little thin and small Bathroom gets very wet There is free onsite laundry There is a mini fridge in the room, which is handy Free water and juice put in room once a day is great
Me and my boyfriend loved this place,it is near in everything you need to go.. for shopping, eating, viewing etc. I recommend this place to everyone, the rooms are not that spacious but it is affordable and good for a traveller.
We stayed 7 nights, 3 on the front end of our South Korea trip and 4 on the backend so got to experience 2 different rooms. Both were basically the same, only difference of note was that one had a computer and the other didn't. The Good: - Price. Affordable, esp when staying for 7 nights - Location. If you want to stay in Insadong, the location can't be better. Insadong side street # 10, about 2/3rds of the way up Insadong Street. - Quiet. Makes for a great night's sleep. -Toiletries. Full bottles of shampoo, body wash, and toothpaste. However, not too many bonus points for this as we soon discovered this is standard in South Korea. -Laundry. Free, but line dried so takes a full day/night. -Coffee maker & 3 in 1's in room. - Elevator in building. The Bad: - Beds ( mattresses ) are thin, old and worn. Also, no top sheet and only one thin "blanket". - Rooms feel cheap, stark and run down. Easily made much better with fresh wall paint and warmer lighting ( Hotel- hint hint ). I'm not complaining, it's a typical budget traveler's hotel but as usual, can be improved with extremely minimal investment in paint and different lighting, a cheap strip of track with a dimmer. - Wet bathroom, yet they have bathubs, so a shower curtain would be very welcome. -Some of the rooms have a distinct smell of smoke, beware if you have allergies. -Mosquitoes. Both rooms had them freely enter, 2 or 3 at any given time. This was weird and I couldn't determine the source of entry but they were there, biting my gf every night ( literally ). -No breakfast, but this seems to be true of all of S. Korea. ( Hint to hotel- offer a lobby continental service, it would be easy, super cheap, and set you apart from the competition.
- Free WiFi in rooms and public areas
- 24-hour front desk
