I stayed at the Mayfield Suites for 2 weeks in January and find it an excellent 'home' away from home ! Rooms are very clean and come complete with amenities such as kitchenette, washing machine/ dryer etc, which make it a very convenient choice for long term stays. Less than 10 minutes by regular hotel shuttle to nearby Lotte Mall and the Gimpo International and Domestic terminals, one is connected to any area by the subway/rail network. Hotel staff, from housekeeping and restaurants to reception do a wonderful job all round seeing to the needs of all guests. A special mention must go to Front Desk Guest Relations staff, Sophia Cho. She goes out of her way to assist guests in their needs. I personally had her assistance on a few occasions to sort out matters I would not have been able to have done myself . . A big 'thank you 'to this wonderful staff member !! All in all. a great stay !! I look forward to returning.
Excellent night at this hotel, friendly staff and great free shuttle service to and from the airport. The hotel is also served by the on demand KAL limousine bus service to Incheon Airport with tickets available at the reception.
i had a friend she worked here 10 years ago. finally last night i stayed here for new years day. shortly room is normal and clean. but environmental is excellent! mini golf yard, indoor swimming pool and wonderful garden! the best thing is amazing combination of old korean traditional restaurant with 1900 year style buildings. room service is great either. price is reasonable.
I stayed at the Mayfield Hotel for my best friend’s wedding. The rooms were modest and clean - standard appointment for a 4-star accommodation. The hotel grounds were pretty, the hotel was conveniently located to Gimpo airport, and the wedding that we held here went off without a hitch! Unfortunately, there are a few issues lurking beneath the surface... First, I had forgotten my toothbrush and the hotel wanted to charge me ~$10 for a dental kit. Hardly reasonable for a classy accommodation that should provide this for free. Second, guests must face the inconvenience of how isolated this resort is. If you want a convenient store or a local restaurant to avoid the exorbitant prices on-site, prepare for a bit of a walk off-site. Third, the A/C didn’t work in my room. I wasn’t surprised after reading this on several other reviews, but I can confirm that my room remained toasty for the duration of my stay, despite the cool nightly temperatures in Seoul during my visit. Finally, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, I was appalled by the hotel’s lack of respect shown to the bride and groom’s family, who had just shelled out tens of thousands of dollars to have a wedding there and booked dozens of guest rooms on-site. After the wedding, the bride and groom were congregating in the cafe by the lobby with other immediate family and friends. The group of 20 took up a very small portion of the deserted lounge. Two staff members approached them and said if they didn’t order more food and drinks (they had been ordering drinks for the pst hour) they would need to vacate the lobby. This is after spending a huge amount of money holding an event on-site. Despite a plea to the staff’s supervisor, we were all asked to leave, leaving the lounge completely empty. I’ve never seen such blatant disrespect before... this place churns out weddings but clearly needs to take a step back and put things into perspective.
Spend three days in this hotel on a business trip. Very efficient staff for checking in, rooms in excellent condition, efficient laundry and very good breakfast options and a nice Italian restaurant in house. Highly recommended. Only negative is the gymnasium and swimming pool is in another building of Mayfield Suites.
After a long trip from the US, our Korean friend brought us to the Mayfield to recover before exploring other areas of the country. The hotel was great. We had a large, comfortable room with a very comfortable bed. Could have used more coffee in the room, but then again we are in Korea. The staff was helpful and the location is perfect next to Gimpo as a base for further travels. We did not eat at the restraints, but they looked very nice.
I stayed here for 4 nights during a business trip to Seoul. The price was rather high (~$250/night), but that got me into a 2 room suite and also included breakfast. The rooms were nice sized with a couch and 2 chairs in the front room, and a queen sized bed. The bathroom was well appointed with both a full sized tub and a separate shower. The breakfast buffet is above average, with both a western section and an oriental section. Staff was helpful and very efficient about clearing the plates when I went back for seconds. The hotel is literally right across the street from Gimpo (Seoul City) airport and I though the plane noise would be an issue. This was not the case, as they took off in the other direction and the landing runway was remote enough that I never heard them coming in. I highly recommend the hotel, unless the price is an issue.
Had a short stay at this hotel and was pleasantly satisfied with overall condition. Check in was a breeze and I got my room key in less than 5 minutes. The room was clean, smell ok (no cigarette nor old rug smell) and was quite spacious which had two beds (1 queen & 1 single). This hotel is near to Gimpo airport and also Lotte Mall and the hotel provides complimentary shuttle bus to these places at regular interval. The staff speaks relatively good English so there is no issue with communication. Breakfast spread was good though I didn't have the time to really enjoy them as need to catch early morning flight
I originally stayed in the hotel proper- an odd shaped room it was nevertheless adequate- with a decent sized desk, good wifi and a fairly comfortable bed. The staff were wonderful, not everyone speaks English but will make a supreme effort to communicate and understand you! I then moved to the suites- with simple cooking facilities, washer/ dryer. This suited me better as I was able to take advantage of the free shuttle to the Lotte Mall and shop at the huge mart there.
A facility, not in the middle of the city, surrounded by gardens but with an interesting fitting room and pool? With a very good choice for dining (a bit pricy though) becomes a perfect setting for someone appreciating or needing a restful place. The corteous service staff is a plus to make you feel willing to return
