Going to Ibis Ambassador Insadong is a mere 40-minute bus ride #6011 at 10,000 KRW from Incheon International Airport. You can stop at Chandeokgung Palace bus station and just walk a few minutes to the hotel. It's a perfect location especially if you want to simply walk to the palaces in Seoul, like Chandeokgung, Changgyeonggung and Gyeongbokgung. It's also a stone's throw away from Hanok VIllage and Insadong Street. The Jongno-3 and Anguk subway stations are walking distance from the hotel which can take you to the other main tourist spots of Seoul. Across the street from the hotel facade are nice restaurants and coffee shops. There is a currency exchange center and two convenience stores nearby. It's in a quiet vicinity. The hotel provides basic amenities, with very minimal toiletries, so it is advisable that you bring your own toothpaste, toothbrush, soap and shampoo, although there is a pair of slippers, hair dryer, coffee set, security box and a mini refrigerator. Drinking water is available in the hotel corridor 24/7. The one thing I like about the room is the wide space, the room is much bigger compared to the other Ibis hotels we've been to in other countries. The bed is very comfortable! And the toilet is hi-tech! There's cable TV, and wifi is certainly not bad. There's an adoptor ready but it will be good to bring your own in case you have many devices with you. We stayed in the ninth floor which is one floor up to the roof deck giving us a perfect aerial view of the city especially at sunrise. The hotel staff are courteous and always ready to assist in all our needs. The room rate is much cheaper compared to the other Ibis hotels in Seoul, but overall, our experience in this hotel has been quite satisfactory, worth the price we paid for.
I have firstly been and stayed in this hotel. The hotel is located in Insa-dong Cultural District. It is also closed to the palaces, shrine and Hanok village as well. There are many restaurants located around the hotel with traditional foods.
Stayed here for 3 nights, overall pleasant stay. Room is clean and size is not too bad if you compared this with Ibis Myeong Dong. 5 min walk to Insadong and 15 min walk to Myeong Dong which is very convenient. Shuttle bus is also available. With the price I paid I believe this hotel is of good value. Recommended for travelers on budget!
I preface this review by saying that I normally stay at the Hyatt at the airport, courtesy of Korean Air, and I do love the Hyatt. However, for this trip I wanted to stay in Insadong to be closer to the crafts shops and it was perfect. On arrival I took the AREX subway (free wifi) to Seoul Station, went to the taxi rank and took a taxi direct to the hotel, about 10 minutes and perhaps something in the neighborhood of 6,000 wonThe hotel front desk person spoke flawless english and I was checked in in about 2 minutes. As I arrived late at night I had already eaten but walked across the street to the convenience store and bought some snacks...super convenient. There is also a local money changer in front of the hotel that opens at 9. Wonderfully, the Ibis runs a free van shuttle several times a day to a few main sights, including Seoul Station and one or two of the Palaces and one of the markets (one way only, just drop off. Room was small but spotless, nice big window and tv with CNN, (didn't look for more channels sorry) and the amazing heated toilet with bidet. The only possible thing that is slightly not great is that the shower stall is small and just tucked in a pretty tight space but it's perfectly workable. Breakfast was very good, delicious Udon noodles with a variety of Korean pickles, the usual breads and fruits, pumpkin curry, and western brekkie stuff. I had so much that I couldn't eat lunch later. (my breakfast was included in the very good rate I got from Accor Group) Insadong shopping streets are a couple of minutes walk from the hotel, and of course the neighborhood is full of interesting eateries, unique craft shops as as well as traditional souvenirs. Hint, if you are looking for an interesting traditional souvenir take the time to video the candy makers at Insadong as they whip a ball of honey into a 16,000 strand confection. The boxes of candy range from about 5,000 to 7,000 won for several pieces. Also, kudos to the Accor Group for not giving away single use bottled water in the rooms. They have cold and hot water available on every floor which is dispensed from modern machines, saving tons of plastic!
Good size, comfortable and very quiet room with black out curtains for an excellent nights sleep. Very clean room. Good, clean modern bathroom with smart toilet and auto warmer seat. Great laundry in basement is a nice bonus. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice little bar on the ground floor. Breakfast available but did not try, I went to the great little French bakery/coffee shop next door. Jongno3-ga station a close walk. Exit 5 or 6 probably the easiest. Lots of food options in the area. 7-11 type shop across the road. Overall a great stay (stayed 3 nights) and would stay again.
I stayed with my small family for 6D/5N. Great hotel as it is very close to Insadong and 5 minutes walk to Jongna-3(sam) station exit 4 and exit 5. Few things that I like the most about this hotel apart from its location: - helpful front-desk staffs - very clean and nice room - fast check-in / check-out process - fast wifi internet inside the room - they provided Laundry Machines / Dryer at Basement 1 for only 2000 Won (you can also get detergent from the vending machine located at the same area for only 500 Won) - while waiting for your laundry to finish, you can get massage using their "free massage chair" located in the same laundry area - plenty of great food near Insadong - 10 minutes by taxi from Seoul Station - last but not least (and this is the best part so far): Value for Money! Thanks for great hospitality Ibis :)
we were on a over night flight to Seoul and arrived at the hotel around 9am. We were asked to pay for half a day room rate inorder to check in earlier which we did and the front desk agent was not too friendly. I expected to pay some money but not half day rate for just a few hours.
Small rooms with minimal amenity as with other Ibis/Style hotels but centrally located and very short walking distance to Insadong. Staffs were very nice especially the gentlemen at the door/parking. Breakfast could use some major upgrade. Very basic or even less. Many good/cheap eats near the hotel so I would recommend not to include breakfast if you have to pay for it. Overall, good budget hotel with good location and nice staffs.
Very confortable and convenient hotel in seoul. Located in Insadong historical city of seoul. Walking distant to places of interest for tourist. Restaurant and shopping abundance. Ibis hotel room and service staff very efficient and accommodative.
I find the location of the hotel is ideal for a tourist. The people who work in the hotel are excellent, and friendly. The food is also very good. In fact these points motivated me to choose the same hotel for my stay in future also.
