To be clear, this hotel is located more on the northwest border of Myeongdong and not right around the shopping street/station. It's about a 15-20 minute walk away.
Initially, we wanted to stay in the heart of Myeongdong to be close to the “action.”That would have been a mistake. This place was FAR better. Quietly tucked away from the main street (thus, quieter), you are still surrounded by many eateries and shopping.
You’re a 5-minute walk from the City Hall metro stop (1 stop from Seoul Station), Namdaemun Market, and Deoksugung Palace. If you’re so inclined, you can walk 25 minutes up the main road past the statues of King Sejong and Admiral Yi Sun-sin to Gyeongbokgung. Otherwise, there’s a bus stop less than 5 minutes away that will take you directly there.
The hotel has very nice service and all the amenities you need for your stay. Staff is very welcoming and spoke good English. The laundry facility was especially helpful. We booked the Family Suite which was just right for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids 10 and under). It has a double bed and a twin. I didn't get to try to the breakfast, but it looked delicious.
I'm happy I made the choice to stay here. Would definitely stay again.
