It is a luxurious hotel you can find in Seoul. Nice bedding, quiet, enough space etc.etc. You will just love it. I highly recommend their breakfast. I personally don't recommend a room with a pool, cuz I am sensitive to humidity.
this is good place but if you enjoy this place more, you need membership spa, golf, tennis, sauna, pool, etc this place has lots of programs for healing n sports so lets go to have fet it room condition is perfect
Staffs are professional and friendly, breakfast is nice, the pool within in the room is spacious, and able to walk to Namsan Tower within 40 mins, but there is room for the room rate could be lowered.
I chose this hotel for staycation during holiday. Actually, concierge service wasn't satisfied than what i expected. But, there are lots of facilities including Sauna, pool, Spa and etc.. Also, the view with Seoul Towel was pretty awesome in autumn. The amenity and BOSS in a room were very satisfied for me.
Spacious room, good breakfast, comprehensive gym facilities, friendly services. Several walking trails (i.e. city patrol trial ) easily accessible from hotel. Marvelous mountain view. It takes only about 30 min. to Namshan Tower on foot.
It was supposed to be a romantic anniversary weekend with the husband. He had heard some great things (and later told me there was a great deal) and thought the spa in the room would be amazing. I got to the hotel before my husband. Check in wasnt complicated and the lady was friendly to explain to me what the package included. I then proceeded to walk over from the hotel check in to the "club" area to take the elevator to the 6th floor to get to our room. Upon getting to my room a maid was doing a turn down service and i waited for her to finish before entering. I was immediately hit by a moldy stench but attributed that to the overwhelmingly humid room- because there was a large spa bath in the room. I opened a window and hoped the smell would improve until....i notice one large moldy wall next to the bed. I doubted it to be mold because what kind of hotel wouldnt check for that before charging a customer for a room, right? I mean a cleaning lady just walked out...maybe I was just being sensitive? But no. I couldn't take the smell so I called the front desk and a lady with a sweet voice told me she would get back to me. Five minutes later she called back to tell me that there were no additional rooms available that night so the best they could do is send someone up to take a look at the wall and spray something to cover up the smell and/or deal with the problem. Appalled I asked if she expected me to sleep in a moldy room and she said, "im sorry but there aren't additional rooms at the moment." I immediately asked that the manager call me. A manager did not call me and instead another employee came up and moved me to a mold-free room. She apologized enough to the hotel's credit and not wanting to create drama on my anniversary night, i said thank you and proceeded to dinner in the hotel lobby. (Btw the food was nothing spectacular but the service was better. They also charged an additional 4 or 5 bucks more per person when purchasing a bottle of wine which they have in small print at the bottom of the menu.) Anyway i digress- had this been another 5 star hotel, a manager would have made an effort to apologize or maybe send up a small something to compensate for giving a customer a moldy room. A MOLDY room. On an anniversary night. We also went to the moon bar. The staff said you can only get in if u buy a bottle of alcohol. They also told me it was full so I would have to wait. Maybe within 15 minutes most of the customers left because once I got up there...there were only a couple of tables. Definitely no way this place was full. I also didn't need to buy a bottle. However the views were amazing. I didn't sense outstanding service and hospitality in any of my encounters with the staff. Any is too far-reaching I gueas- the parking attendants and waitress at the bar were great. Even one of the servers at the restaurant (a short haired lady). But for the prices they charge, I would say this hotel is definitely not worth it. I would urge you to stay away if youre looking for an excellent experience in clean facilities with outstanding service. I would urge you to reconsider booking this hotel if you want to have a night to celebrate anything. But if you are looking to find a view of treetops, the namsan mountain, and some city in a room with questionable sanitation guidelines....then this may be the place for you. The sauna was great, my husband says. And the pool facilities are awesome for families im told. Maybe I'm being too hard on this hotel? I don't know- all I can say is that with high expectations of a hotel brand thats normally known to deliver on hospitality and facilities, the banyan tree in Seoul did not live up to it. I really hoped to like it because I thought it could be a great place for future weekend getaways with my kids and family- but I think after this experience, I wouldn't want to bring my loved ones here. To the manager of the hotel- please ask maintenance to check the rooms for cleanliness and serious issues like mold. Please retrain some of your staff to not say stupid things. Thanks, and good luck!
This hotel is worth it if you plan to spend some time in the actual hotel - so for those who are having a staycation or after more of a resort/hotel vacation. The facilities in the hotel are top grade. The gym, pool, relaxation areas are all to the highest quality and worth spending time in, if you are spending the money to stay at the hotel. The rooms are also top quality, especially the rooms with a big jacuzzi in them. If you are planning to be out shopping all day and not spending time in the hotel then this hotel may potentially be a waste of money. It is also located at the top of a mountain and not really walking distance anywhere, so travel by car/taxi is necessary. I found a good routine was to use the gym/pool in the morning, relax by the resort, head out late afternoon and for dinner, and then back to the hotel later in the evening. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Great hotel and service was excellent. Get an upgraded room with the hot tub in the room. You need to ask the main desk to adjust the temperature but they are responsive. Beware, the hot tub can get the room humid
We came here for a 2 day break at the beginning of our honeymoon looking for a relaxing and romantic stay. It drew us there because of the wide range of relaxing things to do including the indoor pool and the outside pool called the "Oasis". Prior to booking, I receive an email from the hotel booking site with a message that the indoor pool was going to be closed the day we arrived. When we got there, we also found that the Oasis pool was closed too. Also, owing to an event, their terrace area was closed too. The closure of the Oasis was the biggest downpoint as on the photos and in persona, it looks amazing, however, it was going through some significant building work and wouldn't be ready for another couple of weeks. We felt massively let down that we hadn't been told of this and there was no mention of this on their website when we booked. We complained and after being initially offered a bottle of wine and much further pushing on our part, we were offered dinner for two with wine in their restaurant, the Granum dining lounge. This turned out to be utterly amazing- one of the best meals I have ever had. From start to end and also the complimentary wine, we were blown away at how good it was. So all in all, we were satisfied with this compromise. The breakfast which is also served in this restaurant is excellent too- easily the best hotel buffet I have ever had with both western and Korean food to enjoy. We would have preferred if the hotel had been more proactive though.
Banyan Tree Club & Spa Seoul has very good envirnment and sevices. The gym and pool are excellent and my husband very like it. It is take care of my child and met almost our requirements. In addition, there are too many luxury cars in the hotel, it is enjoyable for us.
