I only spent one night at this hotel and really regret it. The hotel seems to be outdated, badly furnished, and worst of all, I could hear every word my neighbours were saying even though they were speaking softly, and the elevator made it sound like someone was moving heavy furniture around the floor above us. Hotel staff didn't seem concerned despite multiple complaints. It was my first and last stay at a Pestana.
The hotel is well located, a few minutes from downtown and 15 minutes to the Ibirapuera but it coud be better for a business hotel. The high speed internet is less than 1MB for download and 0.6MB for upload. If you have serious work to do better download it befre checking in. The good side the rooms were clean, TV was not HD.
this hotel is a disaster.they give me a room w flyes, the frigobar was driping water ,the bathroom was dirty.they make me wait 5 hour to change me to a room.they have a coffee machine w wather all dirty no capsulas. the other room was not clean properly . the breakfast ,was horrible ,very bad quality ,i never have a bad breakfast in brasil ,only in this hotel.all dirty, the bread was old and hard.the waiters dont care about anyhing.this hotel management is a disaster.the worst i see in my life. i ask for a breakfast in room and they forget to put the coffee in the pot.dont stay here.because i also tell them and they dont care.they want to stay this way ,lazy and dirty
The Pestana certainly has potential, but after my 4 day stay I can honestly say they underperformed. My biggest gripe with this hotel is the beds. I called ahead and requested a king size bed. When I got to my room, I had a king size bed as requested. When I laid down on the bed, my immediate thought was "They didn't put an actual mattress on this bed". The mattress felt like a box spring. It was so hard it felt like I was sleeping on the floor. I could feel the springs poking me constantly. After the 2nd night of sleeping on this nightmare, I literally couldn't get out of bed my back and hips hurt so bad. Now, I'm a pretty forgiving person when it comes to beds since I travel constantly for work and stay in hotels all the time, but this was by far the worst bed I've ever slept in. I did order breakfast in my room as I was recovering from my torture session the previous evening. While it took almost 45 minutes to get a simple breakfast, when the food arrived it was a massive tray of food. It was very good and for about $10 US I was impressed with the amount of food. Bottom line, this is a decent hotel with a friendly staff. It was clean and everything worked in the room. If you are planning on staying more than one night at the Pestana I would suggest finding a good local chiropractor as well.
My husband and me arrived the hotel and nobody helped us to unload the luggage. It was raining, we had to get the luggage cart ourselves and then we had to personally ask the valet parking guy to park our car. The hotel promised to give us a free fruit tray, but it was never delivered. The room was cleaned, but they didn't replace the bath towels, and they simply removed the bed blanket. After we complained about the bad blanked they sent us a very low quality blanket incompatible with the kind of hotel. The double deluxe room was too simple compared the hotel daily rate. When we got the room there was a noisy black box on the table, it was a air purifier, it was very strange and loud. I believe we won't come back to this hotel. It's not compatible with the Pestana name, price, quality and service.
location is close to rua augusta, rooms are spacious thought with a little lack for design, did not have breakfast but bruno at reception was a great help and gave me a late checkout too. nice treat, thanks.
This place has a lot going for it, I feel a bit harsh giving it a 3, but a 4 would be too generous. The location is good, very safe and near Paulista shopping and restaurants. The rooms are big, clean and well equipped, but they could do with redecorating and better beds. The food was fine, but a little bit boring, they kept running out of coffee and other stuff at breakfast, and service was a little slow.
Well arrived last Sunday and waited 4 hours to get my nice room! 12th floor with twin double beds, nice desk, decent wifi and old but ok bathroom. The issue in the hotel is they seem to be terribly understaffed at times! I had to wait 15 minutes to get a key card re done as there is always only 1 person on in reception, even when a queue forms! They are on lunch is what I was told. On Wednesday I decided to eat in! Big mistake, food was lovely but took 75 minutes to get to me. I'd love to pretend I am a patient man. Ok location with a Japanese, Chinese and Italian within walking distance. I will sadly not be back. Too often small things went wrong or were overlooked by the staff.
While preparing my trip to Sao Paulo to attend the Formula 1 GP at Interlagos, I read some of the reviews for this hotel and I was totally confused since there were some very good and some horrible. So I went there hoping for the best, but ready for the worst, and thinking that I was not going to spend much time at the hotel and most of the time at the racetrack. My summary is that was OK, not bad but it was either a great or outstanding hotel. Registration at 2 am was quick and friendly. Breakfast was served early and it included good black and abundant coffee, and all what you expect on a buffet. Room was large, included two double beds, that were comfortable. Hotel is not new but in good clean condition. Check out was quick and friendly again. I would go again
Stayed for 4 days. Food in the hotel was buffet style. Good not great. Clean rooms. Good location but have to walk up a monster hill to get to Paulista Ave. Plenty of good restaurants in walking distance or short cab. No real safety issues other than you are in a large city. Overall very good. Park is close by and very nice. Watch out for motorcycles. They are everywhere.
