There is same homeless people around the neighborhood, but once you are inside the hotel is totally safe and comfortable, plus your can order dinner online

There is a very high homeless population, near and around the hotel. I was also told on several occasions not to have my phone in my hand outside. Apparently people are snatching cell phones.

The hotel is old, but that is not the excuse to be in poor condition. The wood frame of the room door was in bad condition, the bathroom has a huge drain on the floor, smells so bad that the bathroom window had to be open all the time, the toilet seat wobbles, the shower room has mould around. The hotel corridor was only lit by sound, total darkness if without sound, scary feeling. Also smells in the corridor. There was no exclusive guest elevator at all. The elevator was very small and slow, and shared with housekeeping. The front desk receptionist speaks little English, making communications extremely hard. We checked in at 6 pm but apparently were not expected. The front desk spent 15 minutes to find a room for us, unbelievable. We requested twin beaded room and were given a single bedded room in the beginning. Hotel is central location, however, one of the most unsafe areas of San Paulo. We learnt until getting there from the taxi driver who took us for the airport that crime rate was very high in that neighborhood. Police was seen on every street around the hotel. We traveled three weeks in central and South America, and this is worst hotel we stayed. If we didn’t prepay for 4 nights, we wouldn’t hesitate to change hotel. The worst hotel ever stayed.

Hotel to avoid despite good workers there.

The placed is dated (1950’s?) The door to the bedroom not secure. They lack a single iron and an ironing board in the WHOLE hotel! They don’t supply a bag for laundry, or something to shine shoes, a kettle, teas, hot chocolate, etc. You should think Motel 6 with sheets and a mattress a little better. The breakfast is kind of weak. Only papaya, pineapple, green melon and apples in a country like Brazil with such an array of fruits! They charge 6 reals $1.20 for a small bottle of water from the fridge. ($0.25 at a store). BTW… the water is so “special” that you can’t buy it out of the hotel and replace it in the fridge. The area around the hotel is skid row. Please avoid it at all cost. Don’t want around wearing anything of value. Our Uber driver was mugged at knifepoint -while I was a passenger- the mugger druggy took off with the cellphone that he yanked out of its base in the center of the console.

Hospedei-me no Hotel Marabá em 2011 e gostei muito. Em dezembro de 2025 pretendi voltar a São Paulo e o encontrei agora com o nome de Del Plaza Marabá. Percebi algumas mudanças, todas para pior, infelizmente. A impressão que tive é que deixaram de promover melhorias no hotel há muito tempo. O elevador da ala A simplesmente não dá conta do movimento dos hóspedes e funcionários. Dos dois existentes somente um funcionava, e precariamente, fazendo com que toda movimentação fosse “parando” de andar em andar, além de sempre ter que dividir o espaço com funcionários e seus carrinhos usados na arrumação dos quartos. Cheguei até a dividir o espaço com uma empresa terceirizada entregando toalhas lavadas, sempre com todos “espremidos”. As toalhas parecem ter uns 10 anos de uso. As fronhas não têm uma cor definida, indo do branco ao cinza e os travesseiros são bem pequenos. O aparelho Split estava com uma marca de queimado e o painel solto. Um abajur tinha nítidas marcas de bolor ou mofo. Uma cadeira estava com revestimento rasgado. As cortinas também parecem ter mais de dez anos e com marcas de sujeira. O quarto em que fiquei no sexto andar não tem isolamento acústico, fazendo com ouvisse a noite toda o trânsito da rua como sirenes de viaturas e gritos de pessoas. A impressão que tive é que o hotel não investe absolutamente nada no negócio, deixando a estrutura envelhecer e definhar. Paguei R$ 1.532,16 por quatro diárias para 1 adulto e a relação custo x benefício foi bem desfavorável.
