The hotel staff really go above an beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. Anything from things to do on the island or booking a ATV rental, they are there for you. I would highly recommend this hotel!
We stayed at Villa Ilias for a week on our honeymoon. The view from the pool balcony is stunning, and is a great place to watch the sunset. The pool area is well equipped with a bar open 12-9pm for guests. The included breakfast is fantastic. There is a large choice of hot and cold foods with a different local special made daily. The staff at Villa Ilias are the best, they make you feel like part of the family, they are every attentive and helpful. We always had a laugh with Mary each day! Our room had good air conditioning, was clean and had good amenities (pool room). The bed was comfortable enough. The location is fantastic, not only for the views, but for being close to some great restaurants in Firostefani and for being a less than 20 minute walk to the main town Fira. We really enjoyed our time staying here and would return!
Our family stayed at Villa Ilias for 5 nights in July and I can honestly say I have never been treated to better hospitality. George and Mary make you feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble for them to make your stay memorable. The rooms are small but let's face it, you're only there to sleep as you want to maximise the time looking at the spectacular view from the caldera. Breakfast was great each morning offering a variety of food and Marina's little treats were a nice touch. The pool area is a nice spot to spend a few hours by and a what better way to engage with that view than to have a cocktail in hand from the Pool Bar. Villa Ilias, thank you.
This is my second stay at Villa Ilias and once again I have been extremely happy with the hotel. George and the rest of the hotel staff are extremely friendly and helpful when it comes to asking for information on getting around Santorini and recommendations for food and drink spots. The pool area has a beautiful view of the Caldera and is a perfect spot for sunset, no need to visit Oia, the pool area view is just as beautiful! The daily buffet breakfast has a large variety of options and all are fresh and delicious European foods. The rooms can be a bit small, I stayed in the Double & Single, East Facing room and for 3 travellers, there was little space for our large suitcases. But other than that, we were so happy with everything else Villa Ilias had to offer. We had a great time during our stay and would happy come back for another stay in the future.
My girlfriend and I stayed here over 4 days/5 nights. We found the reception & Villa staff to be extremely helpful and courteous! We stayed in an upstairs Villa room across from reception, it was very clean and had all the necessary requirements (Bar fridge, kettle, TV and aircon). The first downside of the room was the shower...the curtain was about 30cm too short and extended about 10cm out from the base of the shower, resulting in a full bathroom flood every morning! The second was the noise, from our room we could hear every step, voice or movement from the front door of our complex and all the way through the hallways, not ideal when other guests are coming and going all throughout the night! The noise also included the cleaner who comes around at 8am every morning!! (Too early). Aside from that, the Villa pool area and bar was outstanding, incredible uninterrupted views over Firastefani/Fira and the surrounding bay! Breakfast each morning was included and was again outstanding! A full continental & cooked spread, with a local printed Villa Ilias news/weather report & a different local dish served with your brekky each morning! Overall our stay was very enjoyable and it definitely made our Santorini experience! Would definitely recommend!
My wife and I spent 4 days at Villa Ilias last month, and we couldn't have asked for a better overall experience. We stayed in one of the two west-facing, caldera rooms, and the view was spectacular. Almost every day, we took the buffet breakfast up to our room and ate on the patio, enjoying the view. Mary and George manage the hotel, and they were spectacular providing top-level service at all times. From recommendations on where to go and what to do, to making restaurant reservations, to setting up our catamaran excursion around the island (highly recommended by the way), Mary and George were always there for us. After we left, I got an e-mail from Mary to let me know that my wife left her bracelets behind. Mary then sent them from Greece to the U.S. Service doesn't get much better than that! Our room was small, but we didn't need any more space. In all of the towns with good views, this seems standard, since space is so limited. The bathroom was dated, particularly the bath/shower and fixtures, but it was fine for us. The pool is perfect to cool off on a hot day. It is chilly though, so it was more of a plunge pool for us. We couldn't stay in it very long. The chaise lounges by the pool were great to chill at in the afternoon and just relax. As for cocktails, I had the Yamas every day, and it was amazing. Really refreshing and has a Greek liquor, Mastic, that gives it a unique flavor. Try it out. Staying at Villa Ilias was the best part of our whole trip. Thanks again Mary and George for everything!
Staying at Villa Ilias was incredible and made our trip to Santorini! It's location in Firostefani provides a great mix of peaceful / chill vibes with a local feel of non touristy (and amazing) restaurants while still having easy walking access to Fira (more central tourist area) or a quick bus to Oia. This great location also provides a mesmerizing view that you can enjoy from the pool bar that serves delicious drinks with great service. Jorge (owner) and Mary (front desk manager) were truly amazing and could not have been more helpful and welcoming. Mary went above and beyond to provide recommendations, helping with navigating the island and anything else you need. The breakfast that is included is extensive and beyond delicious with different local dishes made every day. The rooms are no frills but extremely nice and comfortable, you won't spend much time inside with the views from your patio/the pool (particularly for sunset which is better than the overhyped Oia sunset :)
Could not recommend more, the view the service, the location, everything was perfect. The staff were helpful whenever we needed help and went out of there way to make sure we had everything we needed. The location in firostefani was perfect, was not in the centre of everything but only a walk away about 10 minutes and there was some beautiful restaurants around the villa.
When visiting Santorini, a room with a view is a must! Our stay at Villas Ilias not only provided us with an amazing view, but also fantastic service, a comfortable room, a lovely pool area, complimentary breakfast, and friendly staff. The rooms are nothing fancy, but they come at a great price! The village of Firastefani is tucked between busy Fira and Imerovigli. The views on this part of the island are by far the best, especially from the hotel. The staff is willing to help with anything you may need, including taxi transfers or a shower before you fly if you are checked out of your room, but need to freshen up for before your flights. Mary and Georgio are so kind, helpful, and attentive, and I loved staying at this fantastic hotel.
We had a second floor room with a balcony overlooking the pool and stunning views of the Caldera. Although the rooms are tiny and the pool area a little small for the number of guests, this hotel provides outstanding value for the money. Clean, great service with an excellent staff and sumptuous breakfasts. Would definitely recommend it.
