Fantastic location with fantastic views. All the staff were very nice and nothing was to much trouble. Our room was clean and our bed comfortable. A porter will carry your bags to your room from your transport when you arrive and back again when you leave. He deserves a good tip as there are many stairs. Beautiful sunsets, pool area and breakfasts . Shopping and restaurants are close by. Recommended.
We loved this little gem. Like so many other properties there are numerous steps to deal with but that is Santorini. We were assisted with our luggage both coming and going so the step issue became mostly a non issue even though we are in our mid 70s. The view across the caldera was wonderful BUT our sunset views were SPECTACULAR. The fresh breakfasts were quite good and the staff most accommodating. Stay here you will not regret it.
We had booked a Junior Suite with a spa and it was totally disappointing. Aircon was broken, wifi stopped working after a couple hours, door wouldn’t shut without using the key to dead bolt it and the view was beautiful to the right and ugly straight ahead (old mining area or something). There was just over 100 stairs up to the reception area and then still more to get up to the main part of Fira. If the room had been nice ( did I mention horrendous bright candy pink wall) then the steps would be tolerable but .... The staff are sensational without exception and their service fabulous. Can not recommend them enough. Yes great views from the villas, it’s s beautiful place, but even our new room only had luke warm water after the first night. Access to the main parts of Fira is good but I just can’t forgive so much not working in the rooms - they need an overhaul. Would recommend asking for a room no more than 20 steps below reception. Staff really were AWESOME!!!
When booking for our trip to celebrate our wedding anniversary I wanted somewhere centrally located, with great views of the Caldera and sunsets and a decent sized swimming pool. Well - we hit the jackpot with Tzekos Villas ! - it ticked all the boxes. The staff are fantastic and nothing is too much trouble. There are lots of steps/stairs to negotiate ( as everywhere in Thira ! ) so if you are not mobile you need to be aware. I would strongly recommend booking the airport pick up/transfer direct with Tzekos Villas as then the vehicle is met by a waiting staff member who carries all your luggage from the vehicle to the hotel ( which is not accessible by car ) and to your room which is a huge benefit bearing in mind all the steps ! The rooms are basic but spotlessly clean with towels changed every day. Good toilet and shower facilities. Breakfast is standard fayre and is self service but there is a lovely lady Rubini who replenishes anything needed and will make fried eggs for you on request which she did for me every morning ! If you're looking for a large grand hotel then this place is not for you but if you want to stay in a nice friendly place with everything you need, right in the centre of town but tucked away from any noise etc then this is the perfect place. It's not cheap but you will see why when you experience the amazing views which is essentially what you are paying a premium for. Aside from the accommodation itself, we usually hire a car but I would say don't bother as the coach station is 2 mins away and you can get coaches to everywhere for less than 2 euros per person with every tourist destination only 20 mins away. Also they are every 30 mins. I wouldn't change a single thing of our experience.Tzekos Villas fulfilled all our requirements.
We booked a suite with private Jacuzzi and prior to our stay, I e-mailed the hotel requesting for an outdoor Jacuzzi. Both Angela & Christine reassured me we will have a memorable experience at their hotel in Fira and yes, they were right! From the very moment our shuttle transfer dropped us off nearby, the friendly hotel bellman hand-carried our (heavy) luggage to the reception. Angela checked us into the hotel and provided us with information of their hotel & a map on our surroundings. The bellman (I cannot remember his name), then carried our baggage up and down several stairs to take us to our suite. We were VERY happy and pleased with our room & the bellman demonstrated how to work the A/C, the TV, the Jacuzzi and also showed us where our (manual) safe & fridge were located. Buffet breakfast was lovely too. The kitchen staff were very friendly and always greeted us. Watching the sun rise and set from our warm Jacuzzi made us feel so relaxed and at ease. However, one evening - we randomly 'realised' there were three over-grown branches obstructing our view. We advised this to Angela at reception and she said she will see what they can do (we did not expect anything as it was not a huge issue). After a long day out, we arrived to find they had completely removed the branches! We were speechless! The level of service we had received so far during our stay, was becoming more and more impressive. Christine at reception was also friendly towards us too and so were the other bellmen. Our room was cleaned daily (fresh towels and hair/soap amenities replaced). Unfortunately, there was no room service but we did not need it as there were several restaurants nearby and also a local supermarket 5-minutes away. Be mindful there are many stairs to negotiate - but this is the case for the whole of Santorini. Upon check-out, another bellman assisted us and took our baggage to our shuttle meet-up point and waited with us until it arrived. The location is perfect as it is not noisy, even though it is located in the busy capital city of Santorini. The hotel has one of the largest outdoor pools in Santorini. We will definitely be staying here again when we return to Santorini! Thank you to all of the staff for ensuring we had a quality and pleasant stay!
Overall we had a positive experience here. The view from our room was amazing. Here are the reasons why I am not giving this place a 5: 1. Black out blinds. There were none, so it's tough to sleep in. 2. Dated bathrooms with not enough light 3. Limited storage space 4. Manual safe (used to electronic ones) None of these are deal breakers but given how pricey this place is, I was expecting a little more.
This hotel is central to Santorini, the bus meeting point, the shops etc. but the stairs are a killer when travelling with a number of suitcases. The heat affects the struggle with the cases but it is worth it when you finally settle in your room. The view of the Caldera is magical and cannot be faulted. The breakfast though can. Unfortunately the breakfast lacks substance, very little of everything and the selection quality is poor being managed by one poor little lady that does deserve an applause for giving it all she has to provide it with what she has. The room was comfortable and the bathroom good too. The swimming pool is a great place to laze around or take a dip facing the perfect view.
We were on the floor below the pool...very private and the most fantastic views. We also had our own private hot tub on our balcony. The sunsets were fantastic!!! We absolutely loved our hotel. The girls at the front desk were so nice and helpful...took our picture several times for us, printed out our boarding passes for us, gave us maps, etc. The breakfast was pretty good........the lady in charge of that was so sweet. The best part of our stay was Santoris, our bartender at the pool. (not sure I have spelled his name right). He was so sweet and his drinks were so good. Especially his Mojitos. He was very busy making drinks and fixing food, getting ice, etc...he still took the time to talk to everyone and was very welcoming!! Our location was overlooking the Volcano and the view were just fantastic. I think Fira is the place to stay......so many shops and restaurants.......bus stop and travel agencies and hospital nearby....all within walking distance. One of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed. I would recommend Tkezos Villas to anyone. You will not be disappointed. Very clean and very pretty and everyone employed treated us so well.
Our experience at Tzekos Villas made us hate our Santorini part of the honeymoon. We stayed there for 4 nights in June 2017. While the disappointments began early on arrival when we were first taken to our room, to find out that it looked nothing like the photographs provided by Tzekos Villas on their booking engine. The room was a two-level 'suite' and had such a narrow staircase that we were too afraid to even attempt to climb. There was the 'king' bed with a caldera view, being able to see nothing but the ceiling once you are actually in bed. The bottom level was the 'sitting room' with a couch sized to barely fit me and my husband sitting up straight, let alone actually watch TV and unwind. We could luckily change the room and downgrade to a single level room with very outdated furniture and shocking amenities, but safer than the steep staircase to the bedroom and we could at least watch TV from our bed. We tried to enjoy our time at Santorini despite all the disappointments with the room etc. until the day of our check-out. We were checking out at midday and had a transfer pick-up at 4pm, so we asked if we could have our bags packed and leave them with reception so we can go to the beach until the transfer time. All was well until we returned to pick up our luggage and realised that we had left my watch on the couch of the room as we were checking out, since I had a sun-rash on my arms and could not wear it, I had forgotten it there on the way out. Upon enquiring with reception whether they had located the watch in our room, of course in the negative, then asking whether they could contact the maid who cleaned to room to ask whether she found it, again in the negative. I even asked whether the rubbish was there so we could look for it, in case it was accidentally thrown while they were cleaning the room. I was told that this was not possible either. My last resort was to ask whether we could go back into the room and check ourselves since we were 100% sure the watch was left on the couch, since it was stored in the safe the whole time we were there and taken out as we were packing. This request was of course also turned down by reception, with the excuse that a new couple had taken the room in the 2 hours we had gone. You could image that by this stage we were really agitated and disappointed by the fact that we have been conned by these people and there was no way to actually get the watch back. The watch was worth AUD5000 and was an engagement present by my husband's parents, so it had more sentimental value than anything else. Reception was not helpful at all and Kristina (who was the receptionist that day) kept on speaking in Greek with another receptionist while we were trying to convince them to let us check the room and rubbish bags from our room. Their lack of cooperation and willingness to help was a sign to us that they had either found it and had taken it or they just had no interest in actually helping us since we had checked out and were not their problem anymore. Our transfer arrived and since we had some time before our next ferry arrived, we decided to go to the local police station and make a report, just to find that the officers were not much more helpful there either. We asked whether they could reinforce our request to check the room back at Tzekos Villas, upon which they said that unfortunately we would have to claim the loss with our insurance back home. We were so disappointed with the Greek police at Santorini and more so with the staff at Tzekos Villas for making our experience of Santorini and that park of our honeymoon a total disaster and a very disheartening memory that we will have forever. I would definitely NOT recommend Tzekos Villas to anyone intending to travel to Santorini in the future, in fact there are many nicer places around Fira and especially Oia. They are con-artists and are not genuinely concerned with the quality of service and honesty one should provide to their guests. It is by far THE WORST place we have ever stayed at given all that has occurred there.
A perfect location as long as you can handle steps and walking. Taxis can only get within 100m and then there are 2 flights of external steps to the reception and several other depending on your room. Luckily a very capable porter is there to help. Wonderful staff and having breakfast with the spectacular view is something special. The rooms would be half the price if they did not have the view.
