We stayed for 3 nights in a junior suite (it has a private jacuzzi on the balcony!!!). Great views and amazing staff. This hotel is located off the crowded Fira center, but super close to everything. Very helpful staff and great pool area!! Rooms are big and spotless. Very comfortable bed. Hotel helped us to arrange transportation to the port. Great restaurants in the area too. I highly recommend it!!!
Stayed in a standard triple room (Room 104). The view from this hotel was amazing, you really couldn't find much better views anywhere else in Fira for the same price. Each room seems to have their own terrace, ours had a beautiful view of the caldera & overlooking the pool. We spent our first evening at the pool area watching the sunset, the views were spectacular. Much preferred it to the mayhem at sunset in Oia! Small pool bar serving drinks & snacks, beach towels also provided. The staff at the hotel were excellent, so helpful and friendly, especially Angela at reception. Gave us lots of info, maps, made dinner & tour reservations etc, probably the best hotel staff I have come across in a long time! The porters were fantastic too. Breakfast was included, eggs, bacon, sausages, pastries, bread etc, v good for a free breakfast. Hotel is only about a 5 minutes walk to the centre of town in a nice quiet area. Supermarket a few mins walk away, decent restaurant Ellis next door with good views. Be warned that there are lots of steps involved, the hotel is spread over a number of floors & more steps to get into town, not really suitable for those with mobility issues. Porters were excellent with bringing the luggage up & down to the taxi drop off point though, super strong! All in all a great place to stay, good value compared to other places in Fira, great staff & great views!
We stayed here for 4 nights. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included but was a fairly basic continental breakfast. Nonetheless, quite good. Tzekos is off the main strip a little so it's peaceful and quiet. A lot of the other places we saw were in the centre of Fira but would either have had a bad donkey smell or a lot of noise. It's about a 5-6 min walk to the Central Square so it's not far. Our room included a hot tub outside overlooking the caldera (excellent views) that unfortunately made me sick. I used it on the first night and had a cold & cough the rest of the time we were there. My guess is that it's kept at a temperature that breeds bacteria and the water may not be replaced frequently. Overall a great place, just avoid the hot tubs!!
(@mitchelltravels) - I'm a picky guy. I wanted to make sure that every second I spent in a room in Santorini was like I was living a dream. I wanted the panoramic caldera views, to be high up, to be central and an awesome pool. Tzekos checked all the boxes. I'm also a single guy, so I wanted to make sure I stayed in Fira because that's where any "action" is on Santorini - Oia is for those who currently have a ball and chain attached to them. In Fira, it's hard to find a hotel that offers all of the above-mentioned and won't cost you $300+/night in the summer time. Safe to say, I fell in love with this hotel/room and it is still one of my favorites of all time anywhere. The room is a loft, with the bed being upstairs and the living room + bath being downstairs. Forget all of this - the view. That freaking view. If i could've planted a surveillance camera on my balcony simply to have a constant feed of that otherworldly view, I would've. I'm actually kinda mad I didn't think of that sooner. This room has a panoramic view of the caldera along with enormous windows that can be opened to let all that mystical Aegean breeze swirl through your room all night long, taking full advantage that you're suspended 800 feet on a cliff and currently living the essence of Greek paradise. Freddo cappuccino included. The pool is enormous for Santorini standards - most pools in Santorini are really just puddles that have been laced in cement and tile. There is also a bar at the pool to indulge in your inner Hemingway, but also can whip you up a quick meal if you so please. Wifi is ok, but maybe it's gotten better since then? For the views, location - just minutes walk from the center of Fira - and that great pool, this is probably the best hotel you can get in Fira without paying your monthly rent in a two night stay. It's the closest to a Greek heaven that I've ever seen. Poseidon would be proud.
Tzekos villas is a welcoming complex with helpful, friendly staff and amazing views of the caldera. Great location just a minutes walk from the centre of Fira. The views are breathtaking and the pool is a good size and is very clean. Room was cool and clean with fresh towels, linen, etc daily. Would highly recommend tzekos villas.
First, this hotel has a great location. Of course looking over the caldera but to the right is a beautiful view of the town and to the left is just rugged landscape. Very private! Second, Christine who greeted us at the front desk is an amazing asset to the hotel. Incredibly courteous, knowledgeable with a warm and inviting disposition. Her recommendations for restaurants were absolutely terrific. Especially Idol restaurant. Thank you!
My wife and I travelled to Greece last September (2016), I apologise to the staff of Tsekos Villas for not getting on and reviewing your beautiful establishment sooner!!! Whenever we arrived at a new destination on our holiday I felt nervous and excited about what the standard of our lodgings would be like. When we were planning our holiday I was responsible for picking the accommodation. So far I had passed the test in Athens and Mykonos. On arrival I immediately felt relived as we were greeted in the reception area. The place was extremely clean, airy and vibrant. I liked the quaintness about it as well. Obviously the scenery and view was fantastic as we were overlooking the Caldera. Also being high up on the mountain ridge looking down onto the ocean was mesmerising!!! The young ladies in reception were absolutely amazing!! So so friendly, personable, caring and efficient. I got the feeling that they had a sense of pride in the establishment and genuinly cared about the guests being looked after. I really wish I could remember their names to personally thank them on here. Sorry. My wife and I found the room was excellent, well maintained and adequate for our needs. We had an excellent view of the Caldera and sunset which was to die for!! It looks like all the villas had the same views as well, so it is in my opinion, a very cleverly designed hotel to maximise its capacity. The pool area is also a highlight and we managed to spend a glorious afternoon by the pool, swimming, sunbaking, reading, sleeping, eating and drinking. You can also spend time watching the many cruise liners arriving and departing as well as the very busy harbour activity. I really enjoyed the breakfast on offer with most of the food being made fresh and locally. Everything was on offer including cereals, yoghurt, fruit, breads, pastries, eggs, bacon etc. Breakfast is served for at least three hours so we didn't feel rushed or under any pressure when dining. Ther are no elevators in the hotel so you will need to be prepared to acsend and descend the stairs. Good for the glutes in my opinion, maybe not so good for rickety knees!! The villas are only a five minute walk to the centre of Fira taking the lovely little streets just being careful to avoid the odd motorcyclist or donkey. There is some lovely restaurants near the villas which offer fine food and a great view of the sunset and the Caldera. All in all my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time in Santorini, which was greatly enhanced by the magnificent Tzekos Villas. I found the price was right as well and not overpriced at all when you take into account the location, facilities available (at the villas and nearby), views, staff androom standard. I would like to personally thank all the staff from reception, chefs, baggage porters, cleaning staff and the poolside bar staff for being extremely professional, helpful, personable and well lovely. You were a big part in making our stay so enjoyable. We will be going back to Santorini one day and I will not even consider staying anywhere else!! A great establishment without a doubt!! Regards Mick and Liz
I find most of the positive reviews for Tzekos Villas are based on the beautiful views of the caldera. Let's get one thing straight, when you book accomodation in Thira, Santorini, you're paying for the views. I paid a lot of money for my accommodation and expected so much more. The room was small with no private balcony. The breakfast offering was very limited. The Greek yogurt and honey was very average compared to what I enjoyed in Athens and Mykonos. The only fruit on offer was peaches. There were only two types of coffee, French and instant! What happened to Greek coffee, espresso, cappuccino, latte, or the freddo variants? Be warned that in most cases there are many steps to walk in Thira. If you are physically challenged in any way or simply do not wish to be walking up and down steps every day, you're better of staying in Kamari beach and you get a bus to Thira town for 1.40 euro (one way). Anyway, the views were great and the staff were very pleasant and helpful.
The villas are right in the front of the volcano- caladera , super location. You can see all the 3 islands from your villa. Very loving and caring staff. Christine, Angela , Abbas and others at the hotel were so helpful and friendly. When we told them we are vegetarians , Rubini the chef went out of the way to serve us delicious fruit platters, cheese, corn tomatoes feta bruschettas and cheese toast. Really appreciate their love n hospitality. Trully recommend this place when in Santorini.
We had 4 nights at Tzekos and enjoyed every minute of the stay. Breakfast was excellent and sumptuous. All the staff were extremely attentive from restaurant recommendations, all over the island, to places, to visit to where to buy certain items, to where to park, to directions to anywhere. (maps galore with good detail). Villa location was great for lazing by the pool to the spectacular views to the islands and foreshore. The close local parking allowed exploring by car much easier.
