The view from this hotel is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The sunsets are breathtaking and if you are coming to Santorini to see the crater and the sunset views of the ocean....then you will not be disappointed here! Cassie was a wonderful host and the transfer from the port and then back to the airport helped our holiday run smoothly. The self-catering kitchenette was very useful and the spacious rooms were perfect. Thoroughly recommended!
My first thought when I arrived at Kafieris Blue Apartments was wow!!! The view was just stunning. It is located on the top of the hill looking over the ocean. It was nice being a bit out of the main tourist area of Santorini as it was more peaceful and not as expensive. It is very close to many great restaurants and shops however you do have to climb many stairs but it is worth it. The room was very spacious we had three people and three double beds in the room. The rooms were very typical Greek style (white, blue, stone) which made the whole Greece experience more real. The rooms were kept fairly clean however some days the staff didn't make the beds instead just leaving clean sheets on the end of the bed for us to make. The pool was very cold that I couldn't swim in it but sitting by the pool looking over at the view was nice. The breakfast was very generous and tasty it was nice having it over the balcony. I recommend getting the breakfast included. There was a bit of a language barrier between the staff and us. Some issues occured due to communication barriers but they were very friendly. I would not recommend staying here or going to santorini if you can not walk up lots of stairs. It was very challenging but worth the views. It was a very enjoyable stay and trip.
We have had a wonderful holiday. The apartment for 6 had 3 queen beds and was spacious with a loft upstairs for 2. We didn't use the cooking facilities but it was handy to have the fridge and glasses. You pay for the amazing location and pool but the friendly staff adds to the experience. The rooms were beautiful and clean with a new bathroom. It is worth getting the transfer at an additional cost because it includes carrying your suitcases on all the stairs. The breakfast on the terrace was delicious and Nini always serves with a smile. Thankyou for a wonderful holiday.
From the moment we arrived Eleftheria & her amazing staff Artemis, Nini & Neji (& all) nothing was too much trouble from organising day trips to arranging extra beverages. We travelled as a group of family & friends and could not have asked or expected more from the level of service we received. Stairs? Yes & plenty of them but staying on the Caldera unavoidable. Nini you were the best, lugging our bags up the stairs, serving our breakfasts, (Nana) Neji greeting us every morning with a wave and happy smiling face (I know I've spelt the names wrong-sorry) & the amazing Artemis for taking the time to make our stay extra special. Mrs Eleftheria the genuine warmth you extended to us (& even going on the late at night airport transfer to make sure my friends daughter arrived safely). All in all it may not have been a 5 star hotel but it far exceeded that on hospitality.
We are a family of 4 and stayed 5 nights in a spacious and clean room with our own balcony overlooking the pool and breathtaking caldera.Newly renovated bathrooms and pristine interiors. Our location was perfect. Quiet and scenic and only a 10 min walk down to Fira. Bus to OIA was just on the main road less than a minute away.Eleutheria was a wonderful host, always at our beck and call. We organised a bag of laundry for only 10 euro, her husband Yianni organised a transfer to Oia and back, Akrotiri too as the local buses were usually unreliable. When the local bus was full(most times in July)it would pass us by and the wait was too long in the sun. We paid 10 Euro each for drop offs by the hotel mini bus. Perfect!! I treceived a beautiful bouquet of flowers by Eleutheria on my birthday! She was a very thoughtful and friendly lady who always wanted to please her guests. A gorgeous family and a hotel that is in a convenient and picturesque location. Pool was one of the largest I've seen in Santorini. Restaurants and cafes just around the corner too. Will definitely be back to this amazing place.
Stayed here for 1 week. The view and the sunsets are stunning, we spent a lot of time just looking at the view from our room. Location is perfect with walking distance to Fira center or the more calm town of Imerovígli. The area has some nice restaurants but if you want nightlife stay closer to Fira center. Pool area is very nice. Be prepared for some stairs.
Elefteria the owner and her staff were the most amazing hosts, nothing was to much trouble to ensure that our stay nothing but memorable...the pool was amazing and the room are kept extremely clean. I definitely recommend you stay here you will not be disappointed.
We recently stayed at KBA for 4 fantastic nights. The complex is neat and tidy throughout and well maintained. The room was a decent size and functional for a family of 5. Basically only slept in there as we were too busy relaxing in pool area admiring the incredible 'post card' view that Santorini is famous for. Plenty of lounges/chairs and a good size pool to enjoy. Host Eleftheria was incredibly friendly and simply couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was fine, we would often ask for extra yogurt/fruit, toasties for kids etc which wasn't a problem. Highly recommend this place as it's great value for its awesome location. We hope to be back someday.
This hotel was perfect for our family (my husband and I and our 18 and 20 year old)! Our room had plenty of space for all 4 of us along with a big fridge/freezer (where we kept waters, wines and beers to enjoy by the pool), a kitchenette area (which we didn't use) and a very nice, updated bathroom. The hotel has about 20 rooms and they are all cave type rooms built into the side of the mountain. Each room overlooks the caldera and the view is phenomenal! We watched several sunsets there while sitting by the pool enjoying a cocktail - which we did almost every afternoon/evening after a busy day. The pool was very refreshing! Every morning breakfast was served out on the terrace. It was delicious and filling - hard boiled egg, Greek yogurt with honey, bread with butter and jam, cheese and meet, fruit and a cake type pastry. It is the same breakfast each morning which was fine for us for 3 mornings. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the owner (she and her family have owned this hotel for more than 30 years) was more than accommodating for us. I read several bad reviews about the Wi-Fi. Well - remember that you are on an island in the middle of the Aegean Sea so Wi-Fi isn't going to be great. Plus - you are on vacation - why worry about issues with Wi-Fi. Every restaurant we went to offers free Wi-Fi - sometimes it's good and sometimes it's not. Firostefani is a great place to stay - very centrally located and not as crowded as Fira. Fira has more shopping and restaurants but is just a 10 minute walk from Firostefani. This is not a "luxury" hotel but it is authentic and very comfortable, has a great location and has THE best view! I highly recommend this hotel!!
We stayed with my husband for a week in June 2017 and I have had absolutely WONDERFUL time! To start with, I was a bit sceptical since there have also been rather strange negative reviews that I have read on tripadvisor and that makes me think: did these people even stay at the same hotel??? Maybe the ownership changed since their stay, I don't know, but our stay was PERFECT, completely different from the reviews! Yes, the wifi was probably the only thing that didn't work properly, but hey, I was on h-o-l-i-d-a-y and yes I am 30 year old and I use internet a lot, but who wants to spend time in social media or do work on you holiday on such a beatify and romantic island?! To start with- the staff and the service was WONDERFUL! They picked us up from the airport late at night, carried our bags, showed the room and were so warm and welcoming! <3 They brought us absolutely delicious and fresh breakfast all the way up to our terrace every day and helped us to book our boat trips and the cleaning lady was always smiling and greeting us that it would definitely brighten your day! :) The rooms were really clean and the bathroom really fresh. The air conditioner was working and we also had a manual fan air conditioner. The rooms looked exactly like on the pictures on the hotel website. The location of the hotel is perfect! It is just a short walk away from Fira (away from the tourist crowds and loud clubs and bars) and a short walk away from the romantic Imerovigly. And well, the view... definitely the best view in Santorini! We didn't have to go anywhere to catch the sunset- we could just sit on our private terrace and enjoy. I would definitely recommend this hotel!! Really good value for the money (compared to so many overpriced, less nice hotels in the area) Thumbs up!! Loved it!!
