We have stayed here each visit to Santorini and it never disappoints! Clean, beautiful views, breakfast, amazing staff! Rooms are air conditioned, close to Fira for walking but quiet at night. We wouldn’t consider anywhere else. Restaurants close by and easy walk to anywhere.
Sunset Hotel Santorini What can I say? This hotel is much like any other in the area. But what makes it a bit better than the others is it’s located in the Firostefani area of Santorini. It’s just in between the top of the cliff and the bottom of it. It has a very beautiful panoramic view of the caldera, the Skaros Rock, and the Aegean Sea. You can clearly see multiple cruise 🚢 ships when you get out of the Balcony. The room was absolutely stunning. You have a little patio area before you get in the room, with a table and an umbrella. A beautiful bougainvillea decorates the side of the room and is climbing above the door and the window, which makes it such an amazing sight. You can take your breakfast at your patio and or in the lounge chairs and couches facing the caldera and the ocean 🌊. And the sunset 🌅???? It is such an exhilarating experience to see and watch in awe how beautiful this daily event in Santorini. You can just sit and just marvel at how breathtaking these sunsets 🌅 are! Firostefani and Oia have the most amazing views of the sunset 🌅 everyday. A warning, make sure you travel light and or your luggages are sturdy enough for the rocky walkways and then down stairs to the path of the hotel. It is a work out, unless you ask some of the staff to help you carry your stuff, which requires a bit more tip. ☺️ But over all, Sunset hotel and its staff are wonderful and worth the $$$! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
If you want a beautiful view of Santorini with and affordable price tag this place is it. Overlooking the sea and and sunset hence the name Sunset Hotel I have no complains. The manager was very accommodating and the lady who served us breakfast was very nice. They even helped sorted out some taxi issue when I was about to leave the hotel. Breakfast was decent but delicious. Loved the scrumptious breads. The room was a bit small but comfy.I went during winter so most shops were closed. To find food I have to walk further down to the town. But the good thing was not much tourists around so less hassle. Summer would be better staying at this place. I'm sure the view would be more amazing.
Sunset hotel is amazing. Kostas helped us a lot with his great recommendations. Thanks a lot! The hotel has a great view, easy access to all highlights of Santorini. The staf is amazing, also the lady that is cleaning.
Fantastic view to the volcano of Santorini. Cosy rooms. Simple and tasteful breakfast. Few meters from a parking place and one of the most famous churches of the island. Value for money. It worths a visit!
The hotel is perfectly located and they offer a good breakfast in the morning. The views are great and the staff quite helpful. Dinner options are plentiful by walking to Firostefani or even Fira. Our room (#12) was a little damp and the bathroom had a musty smell that never really went away. That was one thing that made us a little uncomfortable during the stay.
Caldera view right outside my room. We didn't even need to step out for the sunset. It's just outside on the patio. The hosts are lovely, ever helpful. There are restaurants around that are shut during off season but a 300m walk and you'd get to some nice family run restaurants that serve amazing Greek food, supermarkets and bike rental places. Fira main town is about a kilometer away and can be accessed by foot. Has EVERYTHING you'll need to keep you comfortable plus cuisines of all kinds- Chinese, Indian, Mediterranean, Italian and of course cosmo bars and Greek food.
I loved Firostefani and I loved the Sunset Hotel. The view is AMAZING and it is walking distance to the hub of Fira. The bus system in Santorini is extremely easy to navigate and this hotel is right across the street from the bus stop. Oia and Fira are very overwhelming with the crowds so it was nice to take the bus there but then be able to go "home" to the romantic quiet town of Firostefani. The staff at Sunset was great! Our ferry was canceled due to weather and they were very accommodating with letting us stay. They serve a huge breakfast spread each morning which saved us because restaurants in Santorni are so expensive. Some of the other hotels had small pools that would have been nice but we just went to the beaches and that was more fun to us anyways.
We stayed at this hotel for three nights. It did not disappoint. To be honest, the views of the caldera alone are worth it. The rooms are a good size and they serve breakfast to you on your balcony every morning. The women who serve the breakfast are very sweet and kind. The only reason I'm giving this hotel four instead of five stars is because it does not have a 24 hour front desk. We found out later that the front desk hours are from 9 am to 11 pm, I believe. We arrived at the hotel around 8 am and were told that we could only check in after 9 am. So we had to wait until the man who runs the front desk showed up. Our room wasn't ready at that time so I asked if we could be served breakfast while we waited. They were accommodating and provided us breakfast. Even though I had informed and requested an early check in and check out time, the man at the front desk seemed totally unaware of this when we checked in. On our last day we had to check out at 6 am and therefore had to pay the night before and leave our key in the door when we left. The hotel is in a great location in Firostefani. There's a great inexpensive souvlaki place very close by and several shops and restaurants. I definitely recommend this place if you're not planning on checking in early.
The Sunset Hotel is a tiny hotel with only about 10 rooms. It is one of the Santorini hotels with a million dollar caldera view at sunset. It is a bit pricey, but the view and personalized service make it worthwhile! All of the rooms appear to be remodeled, and all of the rooms have a view. It has a lovely little terrace with comfy chairs and a jacuzzi, though it does not have a swimming pool or lounge chairs. One small disadvantage was a bit of a fishbowl feeling, since all of the rooms overlook the terrace, the other hotel guests can peak in. Nevertheless, this did not bother us because it is such a small and intimate spot. Also, it is tucked away from the main footpath, so you don’t have many passerbys peaking in at you. It was well located in Firastefani - not far from Fira (which is a beautiful, scenic 15 minute walk away) and 20 minutes from the restaurants in Imerovigli. It is also conveniently located along the hiking route to Oía (which took us 2.5 hours walking from the hotel). Another highlight of our stay here was the generous breakfast. It included Greek yogurt, toast, jam/jelly/honey/Nutella, a grilled ham and cheese sandwich, eggs (boiled or scrambled with a sausage and cheese), orange juice, and coffee or tea. Overall, staying here was a great decision and I would definitely recommend it to anyone seeking a hotel with a caldera view!
