In Greek mythology, one of the Nereids is known under the name Speio, i.e. the daughters of Nereus and Dorida. Speio is one of the Nereids mentioned in the Iliad. Etymologically, the name "Speo" comes from the Homeric word speos or speos, which means cave, cave. Speio = Spiliotissa.
