Booked here last minute for 6 nights July 2019 to explore the island of Santorini. The hotel is at the bottom of a steepish road at the top of which is the main road through the island. For us, the location was fine. 15 minute transfer from the airport and a 10-15 minute walk into Fira centre. There are a few nice tavernas and bakeries locally which we used during our stay as well as a few shops for general provisions. You will pay premium prices for drinks round the pool - €3 for a soft drink - €1 for same drink in the local shop. Same for bottled water. We were in a standard room. It was very basic. In comparison to other European hotels probably 2-3* but cleaned daily with fresh bedding & towels. Towels have seen better days. The bathroom wasn’t great. Hand held shower, very dated and would welcome a refurb. The drains in the bathroom really smelt when the shower or taps were run although I think fairly standard for Greece. We didn’t spend much time in the room so overall was fit for purpose during our stay & we made do. The pool area was lovely. Comfy sun beds and beds always available. Hotel provides towels for use round the pool & a lifeguard is always on duty. Lots of undercover seating for shade if needed and the staff always pleasant. Breakfast was varied with bacon, sausage etc and fresh crepes and eggs cooked each morning. The only downfall was on the breakfast buffet it was tinned fruit and no fresh fruit at all which was a shame especially as it would be plentiful on the island. We took trips to Fira & Oia for the sunsets. €30 in a private transfer to Oia by local company and definitely worth a visit. All in all hotel is well located to see the sights of Santorini.
At all times the staff had been courteous, helpful and friendly to us. The young lady at the reception also provided me assistance in renting an ATV ( a must-have for transportation in Santorini ). The room was quite spacious and sparkling clean. The air conditioning was working perfectly fine. The whole place itself was actually very clean and that includes the pool as well. I must mention the premises were very quiet as everyone was respectful to others. Complimentary breakfast was complete and scrumptious. Only downside : the WiFi. It didn’t work the whole time we were there ( 4 nights ).
This is a beautiful Hotel with immaculate grounds has a large pool and pool area, free breakfast that is served by the pool and large rooms. Our room and my son's room even had it's own small lounging pool on the balcony. The beds were comfortable and the room was spotless. Our room had a huge tub in the middle of the room (see picture). My husband loved it, but I am a shower person. The tub had a shower attachment, but nothing to hold it high, and no walls. So in order to wash my hair, I had to sit in the tub and hold the shower head with one hand and wash with the other. But that is my only complaint. The staff was cordial and friendly, even late at night when we finally checked in. The free buffet breakfast was graciously offered and managed by a friendly helpful staff. All in all, a great place to stay.
This hotel is described as 4-5 stars quality. Therefore I was disappointed as only the swimming pool lived up to this. However, the price is competitive and if you accept you will be getting more like 2-3 star accommodation, then you will probably be happy.
Where to start. When we arrived there was a notice on the desk saying WIFI wasn’t working as well as usual but it was an island wide problem and would be fixed quickly. It wasn’t fixed for the entire time we were there, it didn’t work at all, but the other hotels and restaurants hand wifi just fine. Our telephone in our room didn’t work. The drainage in the shower didn’t work so in order to shower we were standing in backed up god only knows what (see the photo) If you are more than 6 feet tall you will hit your head on the bathroom ceiling. The television didn’t work (not that it was a big deal because we were there to enjoy the island and not to watch tv). The location wasn’t the worst but it wasn’t very good either. It was quite a long walk to the centre of town or the bus stop and it was all on a steep incline. Late check out costs half of a night’s stay! On the good side, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful (even though it was obvious they were lying about the wifi issue. I realized they were being paid to do so, though.) The pool was really nice and kept clean and the breakfast was ok but exactly the same every morning.
The pictures show a lovely place but they are not accurate. Rooms are worn out. Towels are really old. Some bathroom showers didn’t have shower curtain, and some others have short ones. Either way the bathroom got really messy while showering. Breakfast was a total disaster. There were not enough food for everyone. Also the place is not bus accessible so we had to walk for about 10 minutes to get to the hotel. They claim there is wifi but the connection is pretty bad, I couldn’t connect at all. Stuff at the front desk were really rude. I wouldn’t recommend this place.
The hotel seemed bad, since we came in was wrong, check in, the room didn't have shower, just a bath, poor breakfast, only an employee in the dining room, no one picking dirty dishes, there was no coffee, no hot water, very messy, I don T recommend it
We spent one night in this hotel, 31.08.2018-01.09.2018. It takes about 20 min to get from the hotel to Fira on foot. The hotel itself looks very neat and clean. We really liked the design of the hotel and of our suite. Maistros village is a quiet place away from the noise and the crowds seen in Oia and Fira. Yet it's located in the middle of the island so you can easily get anywhere you want. The breakfast was nice and wifi worked just fine. We slept really well - it was very quiet at night and the room was dark. The view from out room was very nice too.
We stayed overnight the pool area is beautiful Our room was very basic but clean Our first room I refused as was cockroach met me at the door You can only Realy get a snack there no lunch or dinner menu Breakfast was very good
This place is amazing, the service outstanding, the village team super helpful with everything we needed during our stay of 3 days, the village staff was very helpful and had an outstanding service with all the customers, rooms very clean and pretty We loved it!
