We stayed for 4 days in June. The room was nice, in the traditional Cave style with a nice terrace (with perfect sunset view). We preferred to sit and have a gin on our terrace in the evening vs fighting the crowds in Oia. The pool area was nice too, well kept. No pool bar but the room had a big fridge so we stocked up on our own drinks (probably cheaper!) The front desk staff were super helpful booking us dinner reservations, taxis and transfers. We didn't eat in the restaurant, except for the included buffet breakfast. It was good all though my options were limited as I'm vegan. I had notified them when I booked 9 months ahead and again 1 month before our stay of my dietary requirements... they said they did not provide dairy alternative milks. The shop down the road sells soya milk so I thought this was a shame as many other hotels have catered for my requirements in the past (and it seemed there were easily available options nearby). Despite this they had very good bread and tomatoes, and some fruit.. so I didn't go hungry! Overall a nice stay, thank you.
Just spent a week at the Finikia memories hotel and enjoyed every minute. We thought the location was ideal - close to Oia but outside the very busy part and crowds. Room was clean and well equipped with a fridge, kettle and air con which was useful at nights and great view of the sea from own patio area. Staff were excellent - very friendly and helpful - particularly the 3 front of house in the restaurant. Would stay here again.
The hotel is beautiful and the room is cosy, though it will take 30 minutes on foot to reach the centre of Oia/photoshoot locations and 15 minutes to enter the town. The staff is incompetent, answering questions lazily and rudely. Check-in and check-out should take much less time. Btw, reaching Thira, port and all other locations are possible by cheap local buses, which stop at the bus station in Oia and even in front of the hotel (though if it's crowded, it won't stop, so we took a bus from Oia). The staff will constantly offer you a car transfer, but if you want to save 35 euro, the local bus is a cheaper option. Breakfast doesn't include water. You should pay extra.
Stayed for 3 nights and was very happy about the location and the room. We like to be close to the main attractions but not right in it. The old section of Oia is about a ten minute walk. So you aren't constantly in a crowd and don't have thousands of people walking through your hotel. The rooms are spacious and neat. There is very little wifi in the rooms but it comes in if you are near the window. Each room has an outside sitting area and there is a good view from all the rooms and the wifi works great outside. The woman who does the cooking is wonderful. We had breakfast each morning and an amazing dinner one night. She is awesome and really cares about you and what you are eating. She made the stay extra special. The pool area is nice the grounds are well kept. It was exactly what we wanted.
5 day break to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, couldn’t fault anything about the hotel, restaurant or the island, absolutely stunning. Hotel is ideally situated on the edge of Oia, close enough to walk in and mingle with the multi national tourists but far enough away to avoid all the hustle and bustle of the biggest tourist attraction on the island. Restaurant food is brilliant, we ate their most evenings and enjoyed every meal. Sunsets from the restaurant are stunning - yes Oia is famous for them, but if you want to sit with a glass of wine watching the sun set you should try the Finikia restaurant. Do go into Oia for the sunset, the experience of watching thousands of people gathering in one place to watch the sunset and then clapping as the sun finally goes down is one that makes me chuckle even as I write this. The sun sets everywhere in the world, every day - yes it’s beautiful but you don’t need to clap!! 🤣 Big thanks to all the staff at the Finikia Memories hotel, you are the best.
And did not care to inform the guests until the guest themselves called before reaching. There was no in house Hotel Manager, to give us more info. Sent us to another nearby hotel, Agnadi Villas, which was a hotel from hell.
This is a great little hotel in Finikia village. It's views look east. Comfortable rooms. Beautiful traditional buildings and kept in pristine condition. There's a few quirky things such as sticky doors and no tp holder but it wasn't an issue. The restaurant is at street level and has sweeping views of the surrounding landscape and ocean. The staff were wonderful. The breakfast was great. Short 10 minute walk to Oia and away from the bustling crowds. We found this place through Qantas hotels. A great recommendation. Would definitely return!
Rooms attractive from the outside and clean + spacious inside, though the stone walls are very cold in April, particularly at night. Shower often runs intermittently hot and cold. Towels are quite hard + need fabric softener. Not advisable to use this place as a base to Oia - pavement missing in places, some steep drops + bad drivers everywhere (every other car has a dent and people take no care at all). Parking awful in Oia, and taxis (like everything else) expensive (ten euros each way). Buses, buggies and bikes compete with each other, with stand-offs common. Lots of steps as built on a steep hill. Not really suitable for young kids, the elderly or pregnant women - pool not supervised and quite steep bottomed (water also freezing cold in April). You will need a car, though this brings additional difficulties. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast mediocre + lacks variety. Beware the extra charges for espressos/cappuccinos, etc - Oia prices levied, despite not being in Oia. Pool not filled when we arrived, and jacuzzi still not filled when we left. Vague restaurant opening times, though not sure how frequently used it is. Nice view over the bay (sea fairly distant on this side of the island). Walk down to Finikia is pretty steep too (and involves part of the road to Oia). Parking a nightmare there too. Maids come daily, though they don't double lock the front door (even when reminded to do so). Very steep road to car park, which makes it difficult to exit on to the main road. Wifi doesn't reach the rooms. Small water leak under toilet sink and windows generally difficult to open and close. Slightly broken toilet seat. Fridge fairly noisy. None of this a big deal. Avoid room 25 if you plan to sleep beyond 7.30am - at around that time they open reception and you can hear chairs being moved above. Couple of dogs resident, though generally not offensive. Bit disconcerting on arrival.
Our holiday and wedding was just perfect because of all the fantastic people who work at this pearl of an hotel. The Room was pretty and clean, the pool was clear and the food In the restaurant was just mouthwatering delicious. All In all the hotel gets the highest score possible. Now let me tell you: the men and woman who work In both the hotel and restaurant are among the friendliest, kindest and most amazing humanbeeings I have EVER met. Smiles all around. We Even had the pleasure of having our wedding at the hotel. When we had to go home after two weeks, we all hugged and cried. I recommend this hotel to every one!
Stayed 5 nights as a couple. We had a Superior Double room. It was the best value for money I have ever had in any hotel. The rooms had a classic Santorini feel. Location was around 5-10 minutes walk from the main area of Oia. Bus stop was just outside the hotel. Staff spoke English and were very helpful.
