We went to expend a romantic break using one experience including breakfast a few years back. The location is the best to take a lovely walk across the bay. Nearby aswell you can find the busy streets, if you want to have a drink and eat tapas or pintxos, or good restaurants. We have a great time!
+ very nice staff. VERY NICE ! - small room for 2+1 bed - but very cosy (we did not visit Santander to stay in our room) + public parking + bus stop just in front of hotel - no real hotel bar (no knowledge in serving cocktails) + but top bars & restaurants are only 5 min walk, on the road... + Breakfast is correct, Spanish, and everything is there.
Location, service, and cleanness is noticeable, everyone in the hotel was very polite and friendly. Laundry service is excellent and fast, the view ocean room is great; wakening every morning and look at the see and ships passing by is a cool sight from your balcony.
Nice and tidy hotel by the Santander seafront. 5 minutes walk from the restaurant quarters. No restaurant in the hotel. Convenient parking in the underground garage with stairs coming up in front of the hotel entrance. Comfy bed!
Spent one night here whilst waiting for our ferry crossing Excellant location, easy parking and staff extremely helpful Worth paying extra for sea view Would definately use again Didn't use restaurant facilities but bar prices very reasonable
This is hotel has a lovely view of the marina and the bay (not from all the rooms off course). The rooms are really overpriced! They are on the small side, and the decor lacks charm. Breakfast was good, though.
Well located and lovely staff. Very recommended stay when in Santander, Cantabria. My first time with Vincci group and convinced that it was a good choice. Hope to be back soon or stay at Vincci in other city!
Friendly reception but tiny, tiny room - we were travelling with our 11 yr old and a camp bed was put in our room. Comfortable beds and lovely linen, but no room to unpack at all (we were staying for 2 nights). We had been "upgraded" and so had a stunning view across the marina from the balcony. Way too small a room for 3 people though. Coffee machine in the room, but no tea - tea had to be ordered and also paid for, which doesn't seem fair to those non-coffee drinkers! Breakfast was "OK" the first day, but decidedly poor the 2nd morning. The bread rolls were rock solid and there was no bread left to toast (we were there at 9am, so not particularly late). Not a great selection at all and a lady I spoke to had been staying there for 5 days and said that this was the worst breakfast of the week (a Wed morning) as the rest had been OK so far. Great location for walking into the centre and restaurants. Lovely bar just down the road - Vors.
The location is excellent for all the tapas bars and we had a fantastic view of the Harbour. The reception staff were very helpful especially with the parking arrangements. It would have been great it breakfast was included because it was difficult to find somewhere outside the hotel for breakfast the next morning.
The hotel is ideally situated with beautiful beaches and cliff top walks one way, and the shops and city the other. Either are easily walkable, but if you are feeling really lazy the bus stop is outside the hotel entrance. We were on the 7th floor and had a sea view room which overlooked the marina. As other reviewers have mentioned, the air con was pretty poor and if we didn't pull the curtains in the morning when we left it would be hot on our return and even on the highest fan setting it could not cool the place for ages. In fact on our arrival as we entered the room we were expected to be greeted by the usual nice cool room, but it was very warm. However, the tented shops at night along the Quayside was a hive of activity at night. We enjoyed jostling with the many people each evening as we strolled along. There are plenty of restaurants and cafe style places, along with tapas bars, so there really is no need for the hotel to have a restaurant for dinner. That being said, there is a room service menu and although the sandwiches we had one day for lunch were good, when we ordered a room service dinner on two occasions we were disappointed with the food. For example, my Mediterranean pizza looked like a Dr Oetiker one! That is not to say I didn't like it, rather I was expecting something more, well, like an handmade Italian pizza. Breakfast was your usual typical Spanish and more than sufficient for us. We particularly liked the late time for breakfast, until 10:30 week days and 11:00 weekends--just what we need on holiday. All the staff were great, friendly and helpful, especially when I had an accident and needed to go to a hospital that had x-ray facilities... (incidentally, 10 out of 10 for the hospital, the medical staff, radiographer and doctor who saw to me--and Google translate). Would we stay again? YES because of the friendly people of Santander and Hotel Vincci!
