This is a beautiful colonial home, renovated by the owner Don Juancho, who mentioned to us, he had done all the work without removing walls!,so this home is a real gem. The magic of the hotel is the service, the team here aimes to pumper as opposed to service; they go out of their way to ensure you feel as if you were the most important guest here. We loved the restaurant, the chef is just fantastic every dish we had was awesome and delicious. The lady at the front desk is king, nice smiles all the time and like the rest of the staff is wonderful. Don Juancho the owner, truly makes you feel as if we had been friends forever, he shared his love for photographing the sun and the moon, and by the way WOW!! He is a kind gentleman who exemplifies the behavior of the team at the hotel, a family feeling I would recommend this hotel, to anyone, without any reservation. If find yourself traveling to Santa Marta, you own it to yourself to be treated like royalty. Thank you team Don Pepe, you are the BEST!!!

As I write this review about a week after I stayed at this property, I'm literally craving the most delicious pancakes, made to order, every morning at this property. That was only the beginning. Every person who worked at this hotel provided superior service. They really cared about me as a guest and the needs of my stay. The bedroom was beautiful and it was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Even more than my very own bed with a ridiculously expensive mattress. The location was great as a home base for exploring the many restaurants (try Lulo and El Balcon, very close!) and the ocean was just a block away. Great location, great pancakes, great service, great bed.

I can't explain in a quick review how the hotel exceeded our expectations. The architecture, the rooms but most importantly the service. They guided us to great restaurants, adventures and took care of us as if we were part of their family. It is what a boutique hotel should strive to be. Thanks for a wonderful trip.

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Don Pepe upon our arrival in Santa Marta and then again a week later after concluding business elsewhere. The owner not only recommended a delightful restaurant he also had his knowledgeable an articulate driver tour us to interesting local areas at no charge! The entire staff are simply the Best! I gifted a pair of shoes to a staff member then discovered in Cartagena that I’d forgotten to remove my $500 custom made insoles! We contacted The Boutique Hotel Don Pepe and the insoles were sent via a private car at no additional expense to us. This definitely is a hotel with Heart! Gracias por todo Don Pepe!

Hotel Don Pepe exceeded our expectations. It is a beautiful colonial hotel with tasteful decoration reminisces of a Gabriel Garcia Marquez book setting. The owner was very attentive and friendly. He offered suggestions on places to visit and he shared some of his professional photographs with us. You really feel at home here. The staff is extremely attentive. They were very diligent when we dropped our phone underneath the Jacuzzi. They were able to get it for us. Our guide Andres was very knowledgeable of the area. He took us everywhere we wanted. He was very patient and made our trip very enjoyable. We were hurting when we had to say good bye. I can’t wait to go back to Santa Marta and back to beautiful and romantic Don Pepe. I will definitely recommend to stay at this hotel when in Santa Marta.

Don Pepe Hotel, is the true essence of a luxury boutique hotel. It’s the kind of hotel that makes it hard to walk out of the doors and explore the nearby city. Rooftop deck, interior swimming pool, skyline cabana and jacuzzi. The wonderful staff and delicious food was icing on top the cake. Can’t wait to come back.

First of all, I am an extremely experienced, inveterate traveler. That could almost be to the point sometimes, I'm jaded, because I've stayed in so many different hotels in so many countries. Thus it's pretty hard for me to get the WOW! experience, that I would take my time to write a review, anymore. Well, Hotel Don Pepe more than makes the grade. I really felt, in casa, as in Spanish the real meaning is, that you really feel as if you're at your own home. Actually, really, nobody in my house treats me as well as I was treated here.😅 Everyone of the people who embrace you, as you start your experience, from the front desk to the kitchen staff, to the cleaning staff, are outside any kind of scale of friendliness and competency, that I have ever experienced. They're absolutely sincere, and genuinely care and love their job. Then, it all originates from the inspired mind of the manager Daniel. He is trilingual, and incredibly amiable and socially adept, and bountifully gregarious. Daniel made the extra effort to call our taxi driver, as we were headed back from the day in the national Park, to ask if we would like tickets to a concert that night. It ended up being a fundraiser for a foundation to build a school for underprivileged children. Not only do they enable a special travel experience, but the owner and Daniel, and the staff have a strong sense of social justice. I just don't have enough superlatives to applaud each and everyone of the staff I have had interactions with here. Luis, for example, who attends to me now at breakfast, does his job as if I were the most important guest he ever served. Alejandra, who works the front desk, has a smile and scintillating personality, that makes you wish your own daughter were that sweet. That's exactly the experience I had with each and everyone of the marvelous people here. I remarked to Daniel, that I was totally shocked that they had some bad reviews, and he glibly rejoined that of course, that was before he came. That had to be the case, because only a cretinous curmudgeon, could have a beef with the stay here. You will love it here. You will return here if you come back to Santa Marta. I absolutely will

The hotel, a beautiful colonial building, is in the heart of the old Santa Marta. Great room well decorated. All the staff is dedicating to make your stay enjoyable. Stunning rooftop with a view on all the old city of Santa Marta. Close from the main sightseeing spots, bars and restaurant.

We stay at Hotel Boutique Don Pedro for 3 days in august of 2017. The building is an old convent transformed into an unique hotel. Rooms are large and very confortable, staff is welcoming, front desk staff very professional. The restaurant serves exquisite food. Highly recommended.

We booked the grand suite (Gran Pepe) and it surpassed our expectation in terms of space and quality (the website photos don't do it justice). The courtyard is very plush and the onsite restaurant is pretty good. A local street full of good restaurants is within a block walking distance.
