The rooms are OK, but sometimes I had to change the room as the air conditioning was failing. The bar was OK and the personnel was very friendly; the selection of drinks is however "medium" and the food selection is even "very basic fast food". The breakfast buffet is well, but sometimes suffers from "temporary losses" of butter or marmalade or other food items, that could be purchased across the street .... The dry cleaning service (from an outside vendor) is not worth its price; the shirts came back not well ironed. The free WLAN worked mainly in the lobby but not in the long corridors upstairs ... P.S.: Every day the local police force is gathering there for a coffee break, etc. ; so you are perfectly protected with police cars in front of the Hotel ...
I've stayed here before and wasn't impressed. This time I reluctantly booked it as it was late notice and others locally were full. On arrival I found the safe and fridge weren't working. Reception told me the fridge only worked when the key card was inserted - was I was born yesterday? Obviously still faulty the next morning so reported it again and was promised it would be sorted. Neither issue looked at. Breakfast is OK but the evening meals leave a lot to be desired, luckily there's an 'Irish' bar 30 meters away that has reasonable food and good beer. The rooms are fair size, fairly clean and the shower I had was a rainfall type, very nice. The beds are pretty dire, lumpy with weak, unsupportive pillows. Luckily the Holiday Inn Express had a room on my last night so I checked out early and paid £30 less for infinitely better bed and service.
we stayed in this hotel for the 5-6th time; we never had a smoking room. Last saturday we arrived late and wanted to check in; we went to our room - 405 - and very quickly smelled that we were on the smokers floor ! Ugly. We never thought hotels had rooms for smokers. I went to the reception and asked for a non smoking room and a room with a bath. Only room 221 was left; a very small room with a TOO hard bed, a small room AND a room with a shower. This was not OK for us, but since it was almost midnight we stayed. We did NOT have a good sleep, the mattrass was very, very hard, the room was very small and we could not bath together. Next I will think twice to book this hotel; unfortunately not satisfied.
Not very clean hotel rooms, beds very uncomfy, very basic, needs a big update!. only good thing is its close to the metro station to go into sant cugat or barcelona! supermarket a walk away also........
Stayed for 3 days for first time as usual hotel was booked? Nice staff, clean hotel and rooms. 10 mins from train station. Orange theme colours are a bit 90's easyjet. On a busy roundabout so a bit noisy unless room is at the back but don't expect any views. Comparible to holiday inn express.
This is a basic hotel - comfortable, clean, good value for money with no frills. The bed was firm; AC works; room had ample space for two suitcases; bathroom was large with a good shower and plenty of space to hang your clothes. Breakfast was fruit, hams, bread, cereal, boiled eggs. It is a 10 minute easy walk to the metro station. It's resturant has pizza and sandwiches and there are two other places close by for food.
Staff really tries, but ...room tile no softening. No amenities in room, except great water pressure. Not enough storage space if staying more than one night. Towels and linens clean but threadbare. More car parking than is usual in European hotels.
This place is great if you have something to do in Sant Cugat that will keep you busy. Don't expect anything great, you won't get it. My room had a view on a WALL outside the building. It looks more like a hostel really, except you sleep alone and have a private bathroom..
We spent one night in the hotel for New Year's Eve 2015. We were pleased to be so welcomed by a very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is clean and well located, not far from the train station and a big mall. We hope we have the opportunity to go back there even for more time than just one day because both the town and the hotel turned out to be good surprises.
This hotel is basic at best. While it provides the needs you want, which is a bed and a place to stay, the rooms are quite aged. They are in need of a good renovation. Overall experience is that this is a low-cost option when staying in Barcelona. Here on business, the hotel provides you with a basic breakfast buffet and a low-cost meal option of under 10Euro for any other meal during the day. The advantage of staying in this hotel, is that it seems that the entire Barcelona police force take their coffee breaks at the hotel bar, and at all hours of the day/night. So for security - this is an extremely safe place. Staff is quite helpful and they speak English. Room was clean and the water pressure in the shower was quite strong.
