The location of this hotel is great, close to several great restaurants and bars. Walking distance to the pier, golf cart rentals right next door. Noise was to be expected and we knew the rooms had no furniture other than the bed from the reviews so we came complain about it . The wall AC unit blasted us with ice cold air and is we turned it down it got hot quickly. The room was dark and cavelike with one small window. The most important thing to me in any stay is cleanliness. I can not handle the dirty surfaces (I don’t even want to know what that was on the bedside table that was making it so sticky). The bathroom countertop was covered in dirty water spots and glass rings all over it and we did not have any drinks in the room. And the floors are just disgusting. I noticed walking across them I could feel my feet picking up dirt and grime. No chance I will stay here again.
So close to all the action without being right on top of everything. The main drag was right around the corner. And the deal the hotel has with the golf cart business next door was really nice. Everyone was very accommodating.
After staying at a different hotel at PIB several times, my wife and I decided to try a new place and we chose Victory Station. It's a newer hotel with only 12 rooms and the 2Q room we had was very small. Instead of the typical amount of walkway between the foot of the bed(s) and the wall, there was a very narrow walkway (and no furnishings along that wall - just a wall mounted flat screen TV). There was also minimal space between the front wall and the 1st bed so there wasn't even enough room for a single chair. If you need/want to sit, the bed is the only option inside the room. There's a chair outside each room plus there's a nice sitting area in a common area on the ground floor. Even though we originally wanted just a 1Q room, it's a good thing none were available because we may not have had enough room to "turn around" in any smaller room. If you drink coffee, be aware that there are no coffee makers in the rooms so you have to go to the office for coffee and, unfortunately, the office isn't always open. Overall, our stay was pleasant and it's extremely close to the downtown bars and restaurants so I would stay there again.
Good value , Clean & well Kept. Just off the main drag & Convenient to everything. Very new & sparkling. The Bad. The room had a door connecting it to the next room that could use a little sound proofing. It seems to be just a hollow steel door. Could hear all the drama in the next room! I had to pound on it to shut them up at 2:00 am. "Why are you being like this" over the Sobbing! or the drunken jerk trying to talk to his buddie at the top of his voice about what a loser He was for being Married & supporting a Family! They provide earplugs, but they are no substitute for a desk clerk to maintain the order. Over all a great place but could use a few such small improvements.
We have a patio queen. We stayed through the week. We feel the value was great. We feel the amenities are adequate. The shower is a nice size walk in with seats. The queen bed takes up most of the room. The TV is decent. The WIFI has been reliable. We would stay here again. Here's the but...you don't realize how nice a chair in the room is until you don't have one. I find myself sitting outside not being able to enjoy the decent TV while my wife showers. There were ear plugs provided, this hotel is just on the edge of the action (which is convenient) and I imagine weekends would require the plugs. The weekdays have been ok. The office is not continually staffed, this is inconvenient. We will simply plan better next time. Overall, this is a nice one to three night type of place. I hope to come back.
Tried Victory Station because it was one of only a few choices and wasn't too pricey for us, Also their website stated no minors, no bachelor/bachelorette parties/they stated they cater to couples. We figured it would be quieter, more romantic. Pros: clean room and bathroom. Close to town/attractions. Tastefully decorated. Cons: 1. Our first night some of our neighbors (younger) decided to sit outside and party, and sing very very loudly at about 3:00 a.m. The ear plugs helped a little. 2. The bed is right next to the air conditioner so it blows directly at your head. We finally put the ironing board in front of it to block it. 3. The Mattress. Basically we slept in a ditch. It was so sagged and uncomfortable we could not sleep. My husband said if the dollar store sold mattresses, this would be a reject. 4. Only 3 pillows: 1 flat, 1 full, 1 decorative with sham. Considered moving or asking for another room but only there for short stay. I really wanted to like this place. Best to look elsewhere unless you don't care if you get any sleep or not.
We stayed two nights here on a girls trip (50 and over) on a Friday and Saturday night. It was very clean and they will hold your luggage until your room is ready. It is also right in the middle of town and all of the action, but that being said, it is very quiet. Highly recommend.
Great hotel beds are not to soft but comfortable close to everything but far enough away from all the noise very clean big enough for two people nice patio area coffee in lobby area some parking if you plan on taking your vehicle on to the island
We have stayed here two years in a row. It is a smaller simple and nice hotel. The girl that runs the place (didn't get her name) is always friendly and accommodating. It is just blocks away from all the shops and restaurants and The Boardwalk. The rooms are small but when you're in Put In Bay you're probably not spending a lot of time in your room and we had a little patio area that was nice. The only negative and the reason for a rating of 4 instead of 5 is the bed. It was pretty uncomfortable.
This hotel is the worst hotel on the island. The mattress was lumpy and sagged in the middle. The pillows were so flat, there was really no pillow to speak of. The bed is right next to the air conditioner which was very loud and came on and off all night blowing cold air in your face, and when it went off the room was way too warm. It was impossible to sleep with the loud air conditioner. There was no chair in the room to sit in or a table to set anything on. We asked for a king-size bed, but they only have queens. So we asked for two queens, but were given a single. We asked for a room on the first floor and were given a room on the second floor and no elevator. There was no coffee maker, no refrigerator, NOTHING. We went with another couple and they refused to stay there after the first night and moved to a different hotel. We had already pre-paid and felt that it was not worth spending an additional $200 for a different hotel for one night. The only positive is that it was clean and close to town. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.
