One of the cutest hotels in the area. Staff was A

Very friendly staff. Nice sized rooms and very clean.

The hotel is gorgeous and the rooms are spacious. There is something odd about the entrance where they are keeping the front doors locked all the time and you have to go in through the back alley and take the service elevator which I did not appreciate. The signs that said what hours the front door would be open were inaccurate. It basically was never open. They need to install a keypad so that you can enter the front door by using a code or your room key. They should make that investment ASAP. No one is at the front desk and that is ok. We don’t need that but not being able to enter the hotel through the front entrance was a pain and until they fix that I wouldn’t stay there again.

Overall it is a very nice place. The room was great although the bed was a little soft for me. Our room had a patio which would have been great if the weather was a little better.

Very nice bathroom with good shower water pressure. Very unfriendly staffs

Had a beautiful, cute room, in an nostalgic hotel. Walk to all eateries, breweries, shops, parks, etc. Had a wonderful getaway.

Fabulous, historic hotel. One of a kind facilities that just harkens back to the days of elegant travel. It’s a real gem.

The staff is very rude. I got there at 9pm and she informed me that after 10pm she doesn’t open the hotel doors. It’s a hotel!!! After checking in she told me to not break anything. I was shocked she would say something like that. It’s obvios! Then after a long day at the beach and sightseeing me and my kids where exhausted! We got there before 10pm like she said. Went into our room, for into bed, didn’t even turn on the tv, kids in bed and we get a knock on the door saying we were making too much noise. I explained to her my kids were in bed. No tv, that it wasn’t us. She was rude saying it was us, and to keep it down. We are never going back there. There’s no parking in the property either. Had to walk 2 blocks with luggage in hand cuz there’s no help either.

The hotel is nice but the bed was to soft woke up with an aching back. Fridge was really old didn't really work. Tissues weren't replenished in the room.

Our room was ok. The curtain was torn and in need of a repair or replacement, there were stains on the carpet and damage to the wall where the chair hit it repeatedly. The bed was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was nice. Additionally, our TV had an error message saying we needed to call to trouble shoot and when I called the front desk to ask for help the young man genuinely did not care and said, “thanks for letting me know”. So, we were unable to relax and watch TV and were not offered any options or even an apology. I don’t think the stay was worth the money.

Loved all the details of comfort - real coffee cups, wine glasses, water goblets - in our room. The bed was great. There was lots of space in our room and the large bathroom. The staff was very nice.

Lived up to all expectations!

We have stayed at The Carlton several times now. Rooms are large and comfortable. Bathrooms are large with great jetted soaking tubs. Very quiet! Great alternative to staying in San Luis Obispo or Paso Robles.

We arrived early around 11am and went inside to ask about parking (in the lot across the street) and our room was already ready. The gentleman checking us in was very friendly and the hotel lobby has a lovley small sitting area with a fireplace. The room was a nice size and the bed was amazingly comfortable! We ate at the bakery as well and really enjoyed our pastries and coffee. We will definitely be back!

Had a great stay here with a couple of friends for a weekend out in paso Robles. The hotel itself it very nice, clean, and comfortable with a great bakery next door. The staff is what really made the stay worth while, we were always greeted with smiles and friendly hellos. And when we needed help finding a winery the kind front desk attendent ended up giving us an entire Paso Robles break down. He had so many great suggestions and even helped us come up with a quick itinerary. It was as if we were getting a free tour, he talked with us for at least 15 min. I wish I had gotten his name, he was absolutely wonderful and made our stay that much better! Next time we go back we will definitely be staying here again! A truly superb staff and hotel, thank you!
