Love this hotel! Great location, spacious rooms, friendly staff...my only complaints are the (Covid) breakfast options and they can’t seem to keep the clean towels stocked at the otherwise fantastic pool!

The property is located next to the beach and close to many restaurants and shops. Check in and park your car for the entire stay. Amazing property and location.

The pool and location were amazing. My kids loved the huge checker board!

Great location. Beach is in front of hotel. Next to a promenade with shops and restaurants. The rooms have a separate living room so there is plenty of room for a family to spread out. One of our favorite places to vacation.

Overall it was a pleasant stay. The hotel can use a bit of an upgrade. Would definitely come back to Avila.

For the closeness to the beach, the brightness and spaciousness of the rooms and the hotel in general, this is the place to stay! We love Avila Beach because the shops are fresh and new feeling-- you will see what I mean when you go there Very small town but the amenities are concentrated into the 3-4 blocks. Very limited choices for food--which makes it easy to choose from-- in my opinion. Forget about looking for a Michelin star restaurant-- also makes eating out more enjoyable and easy to get a table without all the usual hassle of getting reservations. Having said that, the Ocean Grill was by far our favorite! The filet mignon was surprisingly the best I have ever, ever had!! All four of us ordered it because we were tired of seafood that night and all of us agreed how exceptional it was! Who would have thought?? Also about 6 wine tasting rooms situated around town-- some were very, very good. The best part of this experience? Everything was an easy walking distance from our hotel! We even went to most of the other hotels in the area but none could beat the Lighthouse with the sunny rooms, vibrant, lively colors of the hotel and the rooms, and the beach front and beach accessibility.

Loved being near everything. Only wish the website pictures should match the room type. I booked a pool view and was told that was a ground floor room only and the 2nd floor was considered a ocean view. Not what the pictures view shows on their site. That was disappointing. All staff extremely friendly. the grounds were well kept. Would have given the room cleanliness a 5 but found a eyeliner pen near couch and wasn't mine. So did they vacuum? Room comfort, air conditioning not that great.

This is a beautiful small hotel within close sight of the beach. When we first arrived, we were delighted. The room is furnished nicely with a nautical motif. We had been upgraded to a view room and the weather in Avila beach was perfect. We had a great dinner at the Customs House restaurant which was within walking distance. However, when we returned to the room at about 7:00 P.M. we were disappointed to find that there were a group of teenagers in the room next to us. They were not unruly, they were not screaming, they were not having a party, they were not blasting music. They were talking at a normal level and someone was playing an acoustic guitar and we could hear every word and sound from the next room. We felt complaining would be unreasonable at an early hour, since they were not being loud or obnoxious. I put earplugs in and went to sleep at 10:00 but my wife said she heard them come and go from the room until 1:00 A.M. If you are a light sleeper, or noise disturbs you, this is definitely NOT the hotel for you. Why don't hotel owners understand that soundproofing is very important when you built a hotel???

Thank you for your feedback. Although we are pleased that you love our hotel; and the great location, spacious rooms and our best team impressed you, we are disappointed that other aspects of your stay fell short of expectations. We do apologize that the hotel's current (due to Covid-19 restrictions) complimentary breakfast offerings did not meet expectations. We appreciate you taking the time to provide us with your feedback, as it helps us to improve for the future. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to our property again soon.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I am so sorry that you were mislead by the pictures on our website and that our guest services agents were unable to offer you an ocean view room instead. I have also spoken with our housekeeping staff about the cleanliness of our rooms so that this will not occur again in the future. We take all of our feedback very seriously so that we may continue to improve our property. Thank you again.
