When we went inside the unit we were immediately hit with a choking amount of fragrance. I found FIVE plugin oil diffusers, unplugged them, set them outside, and opened all the windows to air the place out. The manufacturer states the diffusers are good for 550 sqft, so this is FIVE TIMES what should be there. The host says they have "severe allergies" to pets so they know what irritants feel like.I immediately contacted the host to let them know I had found the five diffusers and set them outside. I also asked about AC for the bedrooms as there wasn't a minisplit in them. I slept terribly. It was hot in the room despite the door being open (so much for "plenty of...privacy") and I had a headache from the persistent fragrance.The hosts did not see a problem and seemed more concerned with their investment property than guest safety. They said I should have told them "months ago" that I had asthma which isn't relevant if products are used correctly.They also stated because the house had any AC it was not mis-represented despite it being incorrectly installed and inadequate for the space. (Each bedroom should have had a dedicated split head.) Many hours later they told me their decision was not to offer me a refund "it's peak summer season." They offered to clean the space however we had already moved out due to their lack of timely responses into a last-minute hotel. I couldn't risk my family vacation hoping they cleaned every surface, blinds, cabinets, etc.
